He must've been shaking more than he'd thought. The throws weren't working, probably do to Moure's fear and panic. The Hunter was merciless though, and the claw shot out again. Moure gave a yelp and was barely able to move out of the way, the claw still managing to slash one of his neck-stitches. If he hadn't reacted, it probably would've taken off his head. He felt his Fear pulled into the weapon, and for a moment understood the alternate-him's reasoning. He'd felt that slavering hunger. Moure could understand it.

But could the Hunter? "Do you even know what you've done to him?!" Moure yelled out again, this time racing forward while the slack of the line was out. He snatched up a rock, bringing it around into a pitcher's throw. It was no good though. The Hunter simply dodged out of the way, the claw snaking back into it's gauntlet.

Moure raced forward, the claw again snagging at his arm. He felt the stitches tear more, and Moure pried the clawtips from his arm. Still running, threw the claw to the side and raced toward the Hunter.

He brought his arm around, and punched toward the Hunter. "Have you felt his pain?" He shouted, rage coursing through him still. The Hunter was clearly taken by surprise by the change in tactics, and the blow was a solid hit.

The Hunter smashed the gauntlet itself against Moure this time, forcing the patchwork to stumble back as he felt the weapon eat away at his strength again. He could feel himself wearing down.

Still, with a fierce snarl, the patchwork bolted forward again, bringing his fist down toward the Hunter's chest, similar to what he'd done to the shade in the Jewelmaking class. It hit again, smashing against the Hunter's torso with a satisfying thud.

Moure was going down, slowly but surely. He could feel his Fear being eaten away, sating that slavering patchwork mind that he knew resided inside the clawshot. How long would it stay sated though?

Not long enough, Moure decided. The claw tore at him again, severing a few more of the patchwork's arm-threads. Another hit like that and his arm could be severed straight off. Moure shook his head, his rage still simmering, feeding on his own terror and disgust. He hooked his fist up again toward the Hunter, eyes narrowed calculatingly and coldly. The blow hit harshly, and Moure found himself snarling out, "What gives you the right to do this to him?"

Moure's HP: 5/40
Hunter's HP: 2/20

It wouldn't be enough. Moure already knew he was done for. He couldn't beat himself, especially not a version of himself that could eat him alive.

Eyes glittering with something that never belong in them, shining with kamikazing lack of care for his own protection, Moure gave a snarl and ran forward again. He caught the gauntlet in his hand, catching the claw as it began to shoot off. His left arm ripped off finally with a loud snapping of stitches, flying across the room in the claw. The Hunter looked toward the detached limb for a moment, distracted, and Moure took his chance. Even with only one arm to use, the patchwork brought it around in a punishing punch. It caught the Hunter's head, sending the clawshot-wielding figure against a wall. With one last snarl, Moure threw his entire weight into the final punch. As it hit home, straight into the Hunter's chest, he whispered, "Feel his pain."

Then, the figure, burst into black smoke, the weapon going a moment later. Moure watched as the gauntlet vaporized, then watching the cable do the same and the claw puff into the black wisps at the other side of the room. His expression took on a look of shock before switching to one of soft victory. More than just winning, Moure felt something so much more significant.

He'd saved himself, his weaponized self, from the pain. From the hunger. It was the most satisfying, merciful thing he'd done in a long time.

Then, the black smog curled again, and Moure looked back toward the wall again. The Hunter's smoke swirled around him, enveloping him as it dragged him down into it's depths. Just after him, the wisp that had ripped off his arm joined, the appendage going down moments after the patchwork did.

When the smoke separated, the patchwork found himself once again in the room he'd been in before going down the corridor to the Mirror-room, only this time unable to find the way back in. His arm was reattached, albeit barely, and the patchwork found himself giving up on the room. Instead he headed back the way he'd come, pulling a needle and thread from his pocket and tightening and restitching his arm and shoulder a bit better as he did so.

His memory of the room would shake him, just as the Trial did, but this time, he knew he'd won. This time, he'd been able to save someone: Himself.

Moure's HP: Eaten by smoke (aka Tie.)
Hunter's HP: -8/20
Damage: 10 (What I didn't even think he was capable of this. Moure why didn't you do this last round;; )
