This was easy. Every hit sent a shock of pain through him and his injuries. But it was a good sort of pain. It was living, all that mattered, just like when he'd come to this ******** place.
He wanted to ******** burn the whole world down so he'd never have to deal with it again.
Sometimes it was good to be a sun.

The goop was everywhere, but it didn't seem to be... doing anything? Madison swiped one hand over her face and then lunged again, this time at the other centipede as it bobbed into her range. The blade skidded off a surprisingly durable leg and she stumbled.
... And then she discovered what the goop did. Suddenly there was a sharp sizzle, and Madison gasped even as Kouki mentally reared back in alarm. It is eroding our shield!! Some sort of... no, not acid, the opposite of acid-
Madison, who could have cared less about high school chemistry, frantically tried to get the s**t off of her, but it had fused into Kouki's FEAR. "********. ********! How do I-"

Sherry backed off only a step or two, before coming back in and swinging her blade. This time she hit.
Sherry was already moving to do so, when the beast turned and coated her with...something. Sherry cringed and took a few steps back. What was this stuff?!

Bugs.
Why did it have to be bugs. Big, giant, slithery bugs. Drippy bugs.
Bugs with billions of legs.
Sasha, entirely too horrified, stuttered to a stop. It took her a few moments to realize that other hunters were attacking en masse, and fumbling for Nona, Sasha summoned her weapon. How she could possibly miss something so massive, Sasha would never know. She blamed all those legs, and the slick clicking noises they kept making.
She felt like she was going to yuck everywhere.

Aleister was clearly panicked he'd been left behind for one, clearly no one knew anything about the word team or group either would've been fine with him. Really it would've. It meant he wouldn't have to die alone if he died at all.... He adjusted his headset and when he was in he was staring at two giant centipedes.
His eyes were wide and he squeaked, this was not good. NOT good at all.... He failed slightly and hit Boss one with Pookie as he pulled the blitzball's chain from his shoulders.

Deryk was going to strike again, but saw that his fellow Hunters were going after one centipede more. So instead, he decided to go after the other one in an attempt to keep it whittled down. The trainee ran on over, stumbling a bit along the way. In fact, he sort of tripped into the side of the second monster creature thing.
He still stabbed into it, but it wasn't quite as effective because of his blunder.
"Uuhhg... this stuff is nasty," he whined.

Bix came through the portal into madness. His bow was summoned on instinct and he darted as quickly as he could through the weaving bodies of his friends and companions.
The trainees weren't doing badly but the centipedes were terrifying. Bix tried to take steadying breaths and fired off a round of arrows into one of the monsters. He was pleased to see a line of red glowing shots appear across it's body.

It was hard to tell which centipede was which as the giant insects looped and twisted and undulated; there was a subtle difference in color and sheen, but they were moving, and the chaos of the battle made it more difficult. Ferros was snarling, hungry and aggressive. Jordan picked a centipede, waited for an opening in the mob, and charged in to hit the thing.
Again, it twisted and spat at him; there was an odd sizzling sound, and then a stinging that he'd barely noticed along the backs of his hands muted and went away. Had it somehow neutralized the other one's spray?

Aleister paused, ugh acid; he'd been sprayed by the first boss. He hated whatever this was. It looked pretty yucky too. However when he paused to try to clean it off him, when the second boss's body was coming right at him. He squeaked, swinging pookie to let the monster know he was there.
He was going to have a heart attack at this rate. He got slime AGAIN. "Does anyone else want to go home and just eat cake!?" He asked as he tried to get the acid off of him. Yeah the mission just started... he already wanted to go get cake.

Sand and heat and death. It was familiar in all the ways that you hoped it wasn't. All the bad was stockpiled into a new fresh painful moment that too would become a memory. Last time they had taken dead bodies and fought something like a sand worm and now, it was dead bodies, to be left behind so they could fight. Hopeful to not join fallen.
Dis yelled at his him as he saw the dead, momentarily distracting him. Focus. The things, large bugs (centipedes?), spat something at the others, and Marcus cursed under his breath. He couldn't really defend someone from this so- He had to attack. Only problem was, getting to the boss, as he got near it just kind of moved to got after others.
He wasn't sure if he felt insulted or not.

Hissing as the acid was spit at her, Candace kept going past the first centipede. She used her momentum to launch herself at the second, getting Atropos' talon embedded in its body. Oh, that got its attention. The centipede roared, spitting another burning liquid onto her.

Sydney headed for the one that seemed to have less attackers. She wasn't going to panic. And then he had to falter. He couldn't keep it up.
You are a failure Yeah, he ******** knew it. Even his body couldn't keep up with the demands he put on it and though he was furious, utterly and totally livid, his injuries meant he would fail, and he almost dropped Tracey as his arm slipped.
He was hit by the acid and the burning felt just as distant as everything else.
