"Yeah... Do you think we should look for somewhere to stay here? I dunno if Leste's real comfortable flying at night yet, but I'm sure she could manage if she had to." Because it certainly didn't seem that they would find any open hotels, let alone one in a livable enough state for them to stay comfortably.

Luke continued to follow, his gaze lingering momentarily on the gates and the dilapidated residence they guarded. "I dunno, I haven't seen any either," he said with a shrug. "Could pokemon really drive out an entire town, though...? I mean, they could just fight back, right?" What were ghost-types' weakness again? He had learned it while they were in Hoenn... Not that it especially mattered; if a pokemon was trained well enough, it could defeat a foe even at a disadvantage. It just didn't make good sense why the town was so deserted.

Looking over her shoulder, Rosie gave a nod. "We can check the other side of the town, hopefully more people will be there to help us."
She sure hoped there were still people in the town.

"And I'm not sure, I know Kodo hasn't been a very Pokemon oriented island in the past, we live with them but most of the industry was pokemon run.
If there were not trainers on the island to keep the pokemon from taking over its possible..."
Its only been in recent years that the Trainer number of the island has gone up quite significantly.

Luke nodded in reply, a murmured "yeah" seconding the suggestion as their best option and following dutifully. It wasn't as though the other side could be much worse, after all - unless it had been leveled or something, but that seemed a bit extreme. The city hadn't looked half-leveled on approaching, though, so he assumed they were safe in that regard.

"Huh." The idea that trainers kept pokemon in check was one Luke hadn't considered before, but he supposed it indeed sounded plausible. That raised a question all its own, though. "Kinda weird that pokemon even listen to trainers... I mean, we're talking about things that could apparently push whole cities to the edge of decline. It's amazing that anyone, even trainers, can reign them in." It sort of made him appreciate the fact that his team was so well-behaved.

Pastin stayed close to the humans, As close as he could, while keeping an watchful and concerned eye on the growing shadows of the town, every now and then he swore he could hear a whisper.
the clocking of his hooves against the broken up cobble grand, and the light crunching of the Rosie's and Luke's boots.
He had to take twice as many steps to keep up, contrasting to Celestia, who had much longer legs, and could keep up with a gentler, more regal stride with the humans.

She wasn't watching the shadows though, her head was high, large pink eyes watching the sun as it continued to steadily set down over the town, tinting everything in a much dimmer light.
This was somewhat concerning to her.

"Its pretty amazing, isn't it," Rosie replied, with a glance to her two Pokemon next to them.
"I think, that, humans and Pokemon seem to work really well together."
There was always that talk about human Pokemon bonds, mostly from people with Pokemon.
She never quite understood that till she had Pokemon of her own. It seemed almost meant to be.
"But your right, I don't really know why that is... who knows, maybe someday, as trainers, we'll understand."

For some time the four of them were lead through the town, with little sign of life, as was Rosie's concern, and to make matters worse, it was starting to get much darker. If they didn't find shelter soon, then they would be stuck out in the dark, with whatever this growing ominous feeling around them was.

She was on the verge of suggesting they try and find their way out of the town, since she had no idea where they were. When she paused, blinking.
"Luke! Look, a light."

Sure enough, there was a building, at the far end of the street, that was lit up with fire lamps and candles. If this wasn't a sign that there was someone there, then Rosie didn't know what was.

Luke's thoughts wandered to the few pokeballs lining his waist and the creatures they contained, especially the black and gold sphere that housed the Flareon that had been by his side for as long as he could remember. Few of his memories attributed any special attachment to the fire-type on his part until just recently, but-- Well, he had brought Mieu with him when he left his home, and in all honesty he sort of doubted he would have been able to settle in Kodo without the pokemon at his side. Tartarus and Tenebrae and Leste... It was hard to disagree that he felt some kind of kinship with them. One didn't spend months at a time with someone without forming a bond of some manner. It was sort of a weird thought, really. Luke had never considered himself a particularly sentimental sort, but there he stood considering such avenues of thought. Amazing how people could change without even realizing.

Some walking later, Luke was indeed beginning to fear that he would have to rely on Leste's iffy nighttime navigation to find somewhere to stay for the night, but an exclamation from Rosie assuaged the worry. He advanced a few steps, following his company's cue and staring in the direction of the mentioned light. He couldn't help a grin, "All right! We're in luck, huh?" He made little effort to keep his eagerness from his pace; it was about time they found some sign of life in that worn-out old ghost time!

It seemed to get darker a lot quicker then was normal, Rosie wasn't sure if it was just the affect that this increasingly creepy place was having on them or what. But she couldn't have felt a stronger sense of relief when the lights down the street turned out to be a while building.
This was was standing in much better condition then the buildings around. It seemed that whoever owned it, was taking care of it.
The lights shone bright through the windows, warm and inviting. occasionally being blocked out as someone crossed one of the windows, indicating that there were people inside.

Rosie paused as she stood the first step up on the porch, her eyes finding a sign that was plasters up over the buildings door.
"An Inn... I wonder if they are still in business."
