"If you want me to behave like some kind of logic robot you can whistle for it," Aulus retorted swiftly, "And what about Alex? Do you have anything at all to say or are you just going to stand there?" He was so angry he felt like his blood would boil or his heart would explode from the pressure of keeping the rage in check. He didn't want to be here anymore, he realized. He wasn't going to get anywhere with this. He wanted to get away from this woman and just hide somewhere until the fury and the illogical panic that was mingling with it went away.

Her eyes narrowed lightly at his comment, though she didn't show much resentment toward him for it.
When he spoke again, verbally slashing at her for her lack of communication.
She eyed the angry man for a couple of seconds, wondering why she didn't have anything to say either.
"I never meant to hurt him." Pathetic, generic, and the look she gave afterwards told that she knew it too.
But the way she said it was hushed and genuine, holding more emotion then the women normally permitted to show, especially to someone she barely knew.
It was all she seemed to be able to offer at the moment, but what Aulus had said to her, had torn down part of her protective walls she was using to guard against what happened.
Like it or not... she was going to have to think about this for a long time.

He had nothing else to say to her, nothing at all, and he couldn't stand to be here or to look at her any more. Shaking his head sharply Aulus turned away and started to limp back up the corridor towards his room; the sooner he put distance between himself and her the better, and the sooner he could lock the door on the world the better too. His heart was racing at an almost painful rate now and he felt as though he couldn't breathe properly. Screaming rang in his ears again and his body felt numb save for the pounding of his heart and the searing short breaths he fought for. The corridor seemed to stretch away in front of him forever but he knew it wasn't far to his room now, and then he could lock himself in and wait for this to stop. It would stop, wouldn't it?

Her head turned away when Aulus turned, and started to walk away as well, leaving Faleen feeling worse then she had before, and a lot more confused.
She stood until aulus was gone, stood alone in the hall with her face turned to the ground.
No one but her Umbreon, who was silent as the night, watching her.
She didn't know how long she stood there.
