Her eyes were back on her book anyway and she'd finally managed to turn the page.
"As far as I know..." The dark-haired grunt affirmed with a small nod. "I've never actually been in an Agent's room- hear they get their own though. Not sure on bathrooms. Think there's still a bit of sharing involved."

"Ngghh.. ridiculous. Like Temero couldn't afford facilities for everyone. Have you seen his office?" Star reappeared. He was wearing a fitted black tshirt and black pajama pants. He took a seat on the edge of his bed to further dry his hair with his towel.

Tambrey looked up from her book when Star reappeared, then glanced back to it to turn the page, after several thoughts of possible things she /could/ say, she decided that anything was going to lead to the same outcome of Star launching into some long winded complaint and replied with the first thing she'd initially dismissed.
One simple word.
"Nope."

"It's gigantic! He has an entire floor to himself! And its decorated with the sort of opulent nonsense that could be paying for satisfactory accommodations for the rest of us!" He grunted and dropped his towel to his lap, hair sticking in about 30 different directions. "You know, were I in control.. things would function very differently around here."

"Does he? Sounds a lot like... a penthouse apartment." Tambrey replied, showing she was at least listening to some degree while she was reading her book.
She blinked, glanced at the time, back at Star- who received a slow blink and a smirk for his hair, before glancing back to her book.
She knew it, she was going to have to mark this page; he was going to do that whole ranty-thing again.
"... Even if I don't ask how, I have a feeling 'm about t' hear all about it."

"Well for starters I would show my minions the proper respect they deserved. Working under me would be dignified. All I would ask is for unquestioning allegiance, which isn't so much when you think about it. To be perfectly honest I'm surprised no one here has considered an uprising."

Star probably didn't realize it, but he was edging toward the kind of discussion that could see a trip to the brig at best or a bullet in his head at worst.

Tambrey shut her book and narrowed her eyes.
Apart from the topic of the conversation, which was a pretty silly thing to say for anyone in the organization, there was an extra little detail in her mind.

"Well. One. An uprising get's quelled pretty quickly in a place where y' termination notice comes with the smell of gunpowder and two, most of us sort of understand the place we're in now- the roles we play..." She flicked her eyes to the window, still sporting those curtains that she intended to change and then focused back on the ex-Galactic.
"More pertinent t' you, and me, right now; you just jumped teams, y' already caused trouble. Surveillance on you is probably pretty more extensive than on most... And by extension, that means on this room. Irritatingly that means /me/. So /this/ conversation is the one that I /will/ stop right here, alright? 'S for both of our good."
She half-doubted it would have any effect, but she watched him very carefully for a moment before muttering ".. lost m'page now..." and placing the book on top of the drawers.

Star blinked at Tambrey's reply. He opened his mouth, paused a moment and closed it again.

Surveillance.

She had a good point. ...It was a problematic point, considering Star had a hard time keeping his mouth shut even when he was alone. Words just sort of.. spilled out on their own. He'd never been able to help it. He glanced around the room uncertainly, frowning. ".......I was only speaking hypothetically.. of course.."

Tambrey, having abandoned her book, really did just have Star to look at now. She watched him do a goldfish impression.
It was very nearly comical to watch him then, apparently trying to... speak to the bugs, whoever might be listening? However, she was quite aware of her point being probably very truthful.
/She/ didn't trust him, kindness shown or not, so why on Earth would the higher ups? She was sure The Boss didn't.
"Of course y' were." She made the appearance of agreeing with him and leaned her head back. "You wouldn't be doing anything to spoil your 'dazzling' second (or are we at third now?) impression..."
She knew why that one wanted out- she was tired and grumpy and, honestly (without understanding it) actually worried he would get himself killed.

Star's shoulders sank a bit. Normally he probably would have been angry at Tambrey for turning his words against him again, but he was every bit as tired as she was. Possibly more so. Sighing, he fished a comb out of his bag and set about straightening his hair, "...perhaps disciplinary duty and the aftermath of such isn't the best venue for good impressions. I'm certain that once I'm put on standard duty I'll make much better impressions. I'm a talented professional.. everyone will see that.."

There was no doubt he was tired, she was sure, but she'd be woken up. Twice now actually. And that had played rather a part in some of the grump that had helped her make her previous speech.
As Star's shoulders sank, she lost her hold on that grumpiness, watching him more passively and now just tired.
"Perhaps not." She agreed. "I'm... sorry. I agree though; not the best venue. You need to... endure what comes first. There's going to be plenty of time t' prove yourself." She scoffed than and allowed a tired smirk. "Or... mess up. The point is that you've been -rushing- it. How long 've we been back, and how long before that did you leave Galactic? Can you honestly say that you've -rested- since then?"
PostPosted: Sun Apr 01, 2012 4:59 pm

"I-" He paused to think. When had he last rested? He supposed he'd rested in his temporary quarters... somewhat. Most of the time he'd been trying to schmooze with whoever would talk to him and ready his job choices as an upcoming Executive Agent. And of course he hadn't had any rest since the mission...

"I rested when that thing was in my arm." He pointed at the dart and set his comb aside, looking more like himself again with his hair neatly slicked back.

Tambrey rolled her eyes and shook her head.
"That was 'being knocked out'; 's hardly the same as resting and you were barely out then 's it is. I suspect you were -still- thinking about rushing on and up even unconscious, to be honest..." She sighed and looked at the ceiling.
"I mean. When did y' rest your /brain/? Your /mind/? All that... scheming and plotting and then the ranting about more... plotting or whatever it is you're doing. Y'know that I've been your room mate for less than an entire day and I'm /already/ noticing this sort of thing. If you were a machine, you'd have smoke coming out of you." Her tone was less berating than she probably wanted it to be; the concern had crept in nicely. "Like I said, y're rushing it."
PostPosted: Sun Apr 01, 2012 6:12 pm

Star's brow furrowed. He couldn't disagree. He did like to scheme...

"I'm not rushing anything. I'm trying to catch up to where I should already be. I have a rightful place and this.." He gestured at the room, "Isn't it." He started pulling things out of his bag and piling them neatly on the floor to get at his sheets, which he'd apparently saved from his old room.

"... I am going to regret asking this..." Tambrey muttered to herself, still watching the ceiling before addressing Star again. "So... Catching up. To a /rightful/ place. By what... logic have y' decided you have a 'rightful place'? Uh, that... isn't here?"

She sat up in time to blink at him removing sheets from his bag while she took off her glasses; she was hopeful it might be time to sleep again soon.
That was... surprisingly normal. She was surprised at it being something he'd consider a possession worth taking, but she couldn't fault someone preferring their own things like that. It... also rather subtly fit the impression she already had and yet, unlike a few things and for a reason she couldn't discern, it added a little to the positive.
