Paelor hesitated then sighed. "Soemtimes yeh can do somethin'."
PostPosted: Mon Apr 16, 2012 8:37 pm

"Something?" Terran asked, verbally pouncing on the offering. Did his friend know something after all? He doubted his friend would have intentionally withheld information, so he must have just had a really brilliant idea. Cool! He wondered what idea his friend had, and all but bounced, waiting to hear it. "will it be fun?" he asked, excited.

"Er... will w'at be fun?" Paelor asked, once again entertaining the idea that this oddball soq was more than a little nuts.

"The something that you said that I could sometimes do," Terran clarified eagerly. "Whatever you came up with, I'll try," he told the conman trustingly, "I just wanted to know if it would be fun." He grinned a wide innocent smile that all but begged to be taken advantage of. But then again, he might well be too easy a mark for someone who dislikes a forgone conclusion.

Paelor twitched, torn between snatching up the easy mark, and not falling for a trap. This Terrian fellow could be another conartist like him. That would just make his day, the conman conned. Then again, if this guy really was as stupid as he looked, then it would be a crying shame to just let him walk away without at least teaching him a valuable lesson about trusting complete strangers.

Well, the best way twas to proceed cautiously.

"Well.... yeh could learn a new game," he started, carefully. "But t'en yeh 'ave to 'ave a fondness for games."

"Game?" he asked, perking up. "I like games, all sorts of games. I have a big brother, could he play too?" he asked, thinking Denji might enjoy a game, but without ever realizing that to a con man it looks like he is bringing in a wing-man to outflank him. He tried so hard not to bounce, but he felt alive and full of energy. A game with a new friend, and maybe with the bestest big brother ever! FUN!

Alarm bells went off in his head as he considered the possibility of an attack from behind, so to speak. "Sure, w'at kind of game did yeh 'ave in mind?" he asked, as if Terran had been the one to suggest it in the first place. All he had to do was make sure he didn't gamble anything. Of course, for the hard core gambler, that probably wouldn't be all that easy. A challenge, to be sure, and maybe exactly the challenge he'd been looking for.

Now there was an idea. Conning the gullible was so easy he could do it in his sleep. But conning a fellow conartist... that took skill and forethought. First to find one, and then to trick a fellow trickster into falling for a trap while avoiding any tricks laying in wait.

"Me?" he asked, blinking, confused. "I don't know," he admitted. "I know a lot of games, but what kind of games do you like? I love learning new games. But if you don't want to teach me a game, we can ask my brother. I'm sure he knows tons of really awesome games! " He beamed happily at his new friend, wondering how this would happen. Who would teach what game to who? And how awesome would it be to see his best friend and his big brother become friends?

One of two things was happening now. Either the fella was a truly cleaver bugger, and he was manipulating Paelor into thinking he was an idiot and getting ready to lead him to the proverbial slaughter. Or he really was just an idiot. A fine line to walk, but Paelor was relishing the opportunity to stretch his legs.

"Well, ah only really know one game. W'at kinds of games do yeh know?" he asked.
PostPosted: Mon Apr 16, 2012 9:31 pm

"Oh all sorts, should we go get my brother now? Or would you like to stay here while I get him? Or do you want to teach me your game first, and then I can see if he knows the game too? I don't know how good he'll be, though. I never played any real games with him before, but he's really cool and awesome, so I bet he'll be awesome at it." He grinned brightly. Maybe he should learn the game first, though...

"If yeh know a ton of games, how is it t'at yer brother doesn't?" Paelor asked, giving Terran the closet thing to an innocent expression he could manage without being completely comical.

"Oh that's easy!" He said happily. "I popped and grew up on the migration... you know, the big walk thing. So I had lots of friends to play with who taught me many neat games. We played games in the water and running games and guessing games and jumping games. It was great fun. But my big brother, I think he always lived here maybe. I didn't ask. But he's so awesome! He could be that awesome because he learned everything about this place that there is to learn, maybe."

Well, that settled it. This guy was a moron. "Ah....see...."
PostPosted: Tue May 29, 2012 9:34 am

"You do?" He asked happily. "Oh good. I'm always afraid that I confuse people when I speak sometimes. Anyway one Nixie I used to play with a lot told me one time that I sometimes speak too quickly and she couldn't always follow what I was saying. That was a bit sad, because she was tons of fun to talk to. But now she only cares about starting a family, and finding a handsome stallion. She asked if I knew any, but I couldn't think of... oh! You're a handsome stallion, do you like to swim? Maybe she'd like you!"

"Ah'm not exactly th' settlin' down sort," Paelor said, dryly. What was it with soqs blathering on about herds and families? It was like an epidemic... he hoped it wasn't contagious. He shuddered slightly.
