Moure waited until the potential Errand came, glancing around at the gathered people, and specifically at Danny for a few moments as he realized how different she looked now. She'd changed, appearance wise, since he'd last seen her. Her hair was much shorter now. How long had it been since they'd hung out...? Anyway, When the instructions came, Moure gave a nod. "Sure sure. If you're warning me about people eating all the food, I'd better take it seriously then." Moure replied to Roch, half joking since he knew how much food the reaper could inhale when he wanted to.

When Danny fell off Roch, and then looked like she was going to run over and tackle him as well, Moure gave her a broad grin (all the while bracing himself in case such an affectionate greeting was given to him, too). The gears in her head seemed to click, though, and she changed her mind. Instead he just got a quick hug. "Of course! We've got a lot of catching up to do." He spoke again as she started off toward Rikki, "Have fun with your mission!"

As he was about to go help out with the food, he heard Roch mention their hard-won victory. He gave the little ghoul a nod and a slight grin, "Indeed we did. They weren't all that bad, though. I mean, up until that last one, the trials weren't too horrible. You should've seen Roch during the flag-snagging trial. I don't think I've ever seen someone win so many times in a row, seriously." All Moure had gotten out of that one was learning how to underwater basket weave (which was, albeit, a rather fun skill to have learned). Roch had done rather amazingly during that trial though, which was good for their team and probably helped them win in the end.

With that, Moure gave the three a nod and moved on to the food tables. He gave the robe-clad figure there a little grin and said, "Nahm, I presume? I'm Moure. Roch sent me over to help out. And, you know, to make sure you don't eat it all."

The last time . . . the last time he had watched friends die, Aksaja had been left alive - alone. Or so he thought. He hadn't even thought that they might not be dead, that they could come back. That there was a chance it wasn't all real. He'd watched Sharra, Yaya, Jericho, Riley, Maladore all chopped into pieces, heard their screams as he came through the portal, and afterwards in nightmares. Even knowing that they were actually okay, that he hadn't lost them. He'd had nightmares.

It wasn't the same this time. He'd died too - not painfully, but quick. Easy. Like a weakling. He hadn't even been good enough to become a weapon . . . though he wasn't sure if that was a good thing or not. But it had felt like failure. There weren't as many nightmares this time. He hadn't known his teammates as well as he knew his friends the last time around. But still, it had been hard. Even partly suspecting it was all somehow a fake, it had felt very real. Very . . . final.

So he'd been mostly curled up in his room, playing sort of half-heartedly with a few of the friendlier minipets, when Roch's text came. He blinked at the phone for a minute or two. A party? To celebrate . . . ? Well, they had been one of the three winning teams. And it wouldn't hurt at all to try and do something fun to get out of whatever this mood was he was in. So with a slight shrug, the lightning dragon headed for the cave exit and spread his wings to take to the sky.

He got there just in time to see Danny climbing on Rikki. Right after she got off Roch. With a faint smirk, the dragon landed between the two of them and put hands on his hips. "Did the fun part start without me?"

At the mention of weapons, Chuppi paled even more and her small body began to visibly shake. The memory of it was still so real to her, so vivid, and she raised her hands up to the side of her face as her nails dug themselves into her skin. "I didn't want to tell them anything, but they made me. I didn't want to do it, but the others were dead." Small pinpricks of blood began to form beneath her fingers from where she was digging into her flesh, and the monster just looked at Roch with an expression bordering on terrified.

It didn't matter that they were here to celebrate, it only mattered that she had told them everything and everyone was talking about the events like it wasn't something important. Chuppi had told them everything, the drums in her head made her talk. Everyone wasn't safe with her around, but she wasn't safe if she went off on her own. The look and smile from the zombie who approached was ignored, not entirely on purpose as the chupacbara was in her own thoughts. "Gran hermano, I am not safe to talk around."

"Nice to meet you, Moure," Nahm said. "Here, grab that stack of boxes, and Roch is a dirty liar, he knows I wouldn't eat all of it." The eye-glows visible above his scarf curved amiably with his smile. "If he really thought I was gonna eat a significant portion of it, he'd've put someone else on food acquisition."

He pulled the plastic open on a stack of paper plates and put it next to the pizza boxes, then located a bowl and started opening a bag of chips. "I'm gonna snack a little, sure," he said. "But I can share."

Roch had been about to reply to Aksaja when Chuppi started to freak out.

Oh.

She'd done the same as Danny.

He inwardly sighed, wondering how to deal with this. Chuppi was smarter than Danny was, a simple statement wouldn't work. "Choops," he said, crouching down in front of the ghoul. "We understand. And we ain't gonna say anything important tonight at all. We're just going to be here together instead of hiding in our rooms, thinkin' of all the stuff we did wrong in the trial. Cuz all of us made mistakes, screech. ALL of us."

Then he gave Aksaja a grin. "The fun might be a bit muted tonight, man, but you're welcome to come up with some ideas! Mister host," he said teasingly. "I was thinkin' pizza on a stick. Or clams. Or pizza with clams on it!"

Aksaja winced slightly when Chuppi started freaking out, figuring out pretty quickly what had probably happened to her. The same thing that happened to him . . . which he really didn't want to think about. Roch had the right idea here. He offered the Reaper boil a quick smile and tilted his head slightly. "I don't know whether to be curious or freaked out by thinking of clams on pizza . . . "

He grinned then. "Maybe we should have brought some crab."

Chuppi looked at Roch and trusted his words. If she couldn't trust him there was nothing else she could do and he promised her that everyone would be okay, they wouldn't say anything that would make her hurt them in the future. She wanted to believe what he said and because she wanted to she would. If she could master that self control and not let her personal issues eat away the evening then. . . .maybe she would be safe. Maybe she'd be safe to be around after all.

A faint smile spread over her lips as she tried to listen to the words and move along, an attempt to make herself move with the others her ideal. "Is...is there anything then I can do to help? I can....I can move wood if you need me to." Being strong was a thing of pride for the monster, since it was some of the reason she was here. "If...if you want crab Mr. Dragon then maybe I should try and get some for you?"

Chuppi didn't know Aksaja's name so 'Mr. Dragon' was the best she could come up with on a sudden pulse.

"Mister--oh! Chuppi, this is Aksaja, Aksaja, this is Chuppi. Aksaja was one of my teammates in the trials, Choops. And Choop's my adopted little sister," Roch said, introducing them both. "And if you could, lil sis? We need it put in the middle of that circle of rocks over there." He pointed to the rock circle on the rocky shore. Then he started chopping wood again. With his guitar.

"You doin' okay?" he asked Aksaja as he chopped. "I know everyone was havin' it rough after... what happened.

"Good to meet you too." The food-tender seemed to be a cheerful sort, and Moure could immediately how he and Roch got along. He gave the other a grin and replied, "I see. Speaking of food acquistion, where'd you get all this from, anyway?" If there had been an explanation eariler, Moure had missed it.

Quickly, the patchwork set about helping, grabbing the boxes as directed and putting them down where they needed to go and continuing to help unloading the wagon's contents up onto the table. "Honestly, I'd be surprised if you didn't snack, since you have so much here to choose from." Moure said with a chuckle. He looked to the wagon again and picked up some more of the snack food. "Any specifics on where you want the rest of this stuff to go?" He didn't want to start putting food down in the wrong places, if the other already had a plan for the table's organization.

Back turned to the rest of the people, Moure missed the chupacabra's shaking and the comforting that the others had attempted. All he caught of the conversation was something about crab and pizza, so he figured that Roch was still unhappy with the fact that he hadn't gotten to eat any during their first trial. Way to be oblivious (or just really focused on helping with the food, whatever) buddy.

"Mucho gusto, Aksaja. If you will pardon me now I am to help moving the wood? Or do you want crab too?" She looked up at the taller and older student, her red eyes puffy from the tears she'd kept back. Crying wasn't going to help Chuppi and her face stung from the pokes she'd put in anyway; crying would just make the salt from her tears more painful.

Giving a bow of her head the chupacabra moved away from the two boys and lifted a rather impressive stack of wood into her arms, her small body tottering towards the circle of rocks. A piece dropped and she bent to get it, pausing when she realized that doing so would probably make the rest drop, and she instead leaned back and stabbed her quills into the wood. She'd pull it off when she got to the pile so why worry now?

It did make her look a bit silly though.

Aksaja offered the smaller monster a friendly sort of grin and then gave her a little bow. "Nice to meet you. I was really just mentioning the crab as a kind of joke. Remember the sandcastle thing? Before the crabs quit attacking us, we were saying that we should cook and eat them." It had been amusing at the time, though maybe it made a stupid joke now. But whatever, he was just trying to lighten the mood a bit.

Speaking of which . . . He shrugged slightly to Roch's question. "More or less. It's . . . both worse and somehow better than the last time I had to watch people die."

"Mostly from the gross-ery," Nahm said. "M'brother and I went shopping earlier, filled up a cart. Most of it's still left. Here, put that stuff on the other side, chips there, assorted body parts over here, put the slime in a bowl so people can scoop some for their chips. Not really organized or anything, just shove it on the table. Wanna help me with the second trip? If we got too much I know between the lot of us we can take care of it anyway."

He eyed Moure with approval. "And hey, if you wanna sneak off somewhere."

It said something about Roch's mindset that he didn't notice Chuppi had hurt herself. He chopped up the rest of the wood as he thought about it. "I promised something that I couldn't fulfill," he said quietly to Aksaja. "But I figure now's the time to change that. But for now..." He picked up a pile of wood and turned towards where it was being laid out.

"We need this moment. Don't stare at the fire directly, keep your eyes on the area around us. I don't expect anything, but..." he shrugged. "Everyone's on edge right now."

Then he headed for the table. "TELL me you brought somethin' other than body parts, Nahm! Reapers don't eat that stuff!"
PostPosted: Tue Mar 27, 2012 7:02 pm

Moure gave a nod, glancing over the piles of snacks. As soon as the directions were given, the patchwork settled about organizing the foods as Nahm had instructed. There was plenty of food here, and food for all types of student it seemed, and Moure gave the table an appraising eye. How they'd manage to fit the another load of food on the table might take some creativity, to say the least. "Sure, sure. Did you and your brother really buy so much? And are we gonna be able to fit it all on there?"

...What. Nahm's statement was met with slightly blank look as his brain tried to click together some other possible meaning for the other's words. He wasn't finding any. This always seemed to happen to him. You'd think Moure would be used to it by now, but he wasn't. As such, Moure's response was one of something like, "Er, sneak off?" Maybe there was some other meaning than what he was thinking Nahm meant. As unlikely as it was, maybe there was some other possible meaning that Moure wasn't aware of. At least Roch hadn't heard Nahm.

...Maybe right now would be a good time to casually mention that he had a ghoulfriend.

"We can leave some of it on the wagon," Nahm decided. He laughed and pointed out, "Keep in mind, we were shopping for Roch, and I eat like he does." It was a point of pride for him.

"For some fun," he clarified. The zombie boil's look of trepidation suggested that he wasn't interested, but that didn't mean Nahm wasn't going to keep the line of conversation going until outright told no; a good 3/4 of the reason he hit on just about anyone was for the reactions. "You're cute~"
