Lark giggled.
Giggled.
"Thanks," she smiled up at him, just staring forever.
"I ain't bring a pillow or nothin'. Not that it matters, could jest sleep out anyway, right?" That could prove rather romantic and quite conducive to kissing. "I mean, if y'wanted t'. We could sleep out." Actually, the more that she thought about it, the more she liked the idea.
"T'day or 'nother time, don't matter." She released his hand and slowly slid it across his chest. Oh, that felt nice. Lark gave a happy sigh.

She ... giggled?
He stared back down at her and just kissed her forehead lightly. It was nice not fighting with her every five seconds because he did something she disapproved of. Kettil hummed softly as she mentioned they didn't have pillows and he offered a shrug, "We'll find ways around the lack of pillows~. I don't mind if we just spent the night out. It'd do us some good maybe?"
The fact that it'd just be the two of them out there - for the most part - hadn't struck him just yet at least not until her hand slid across his chest and pure thoughts just kind of crashed and burned in a glorious pile.
Damn triggers.
"Today is good," he said clearing his throat, "besides it is supposed to be nice out tonight," he was so distracted that they were about to pass by an opportune place to get sandwiches - a nice little deli.

Lark was too busy enjoying Kettil's company - and the way he felt against her side - and the way she could feel his voice through his skin, if that even made sense - to notice that they were going to pass by a little deli. A soft rumble when he spoke, one that vibrated through his skin and onto hers. She also might've let out a happy little purr when he kissed her forehead.
Yeah, Lark was pretty much smitten. She wasn't going to have any regrets or hold any grudges. This was the start of their future together. No more awkwardness, no more anger. Just pure, happy bliss.
"A'right," she mumbled softly, inhaling deeply just so she could smell him again. It was such a nice scent; like pine and woods.
"Y'wanna hold hands?" Lark did - despite smushing herself up against his side, it would be nice to just hold hands, too.

He was basically at the point where he was yoyo-ing between two types of feelings both which while worked well together one of them was bound to get him in trouble soon if she kept up her little behaviors, he felt as if his heart had suddenly started a hectic mix of fast and slow regulated beats depending on what Lark did to him.
Like the sound of her making a happy little purr-like sound she had made. It held his interest rather intently for a half a second before her question brought him back to reality for the most part as he nodded glancing around a bit and blushing, "Yea sure...Oh Jack, we almost walked right past it," he breathed out as he paused in front of the deli his eyes kind of gazing back at it.
"You know what kind you want yet?" He asked as he waited for her to kind of un-attach herself so she could hold onto his hand.

Lark immediately slipped her fingers through his, giving his hand a squeeze as she pressed even closer against him how was that possible. As he moved to stand in front of the deli, Lark stepped behind him and with a happy sigh pressed her front to his back. She arranged her hands so that she could still hold his hand while nuzzling against his shoulder.
He was so sturdy.
"I'unno," she mumbled from behind him, finding the texture of his dreds to be far more interesting than a silly sandwich.

If this had been any other situation where they weren't dating Kettil might have found it highly unusual that Lark was being so affectionate with him at this point and time but he enjoyed it, supported her weight, let her do whatever she wanted as long as it was to him and no other boil.
That ghoul behind him? That was his. In a odd way he was slowly but surely starting to understand so much more why Herryk felt the way he did when...s**t hit the fan between them. Thinking of Lark like this with another boil made his blood preemptively turn hot and not in a good way.
Kettil hummed a bit as he glanced back at Lark, "We'll just pick something at random. Just pop in, pick, pay and then go on our way, let's go," he said it was her warning that he was about to move forward.

Lark's fingers delivered a hearty pinch to his side when he kept yammering on about sandwiches. She'd already said that she didn't care where or what they ate. He was wasting time talking about what kind of foods he wanted to eat or pick out or whatever.
"Go, go, go," Lark groused softly under her breath, releasing him just long enough to press herself against his side once more. "Y're awful talkative t'day," she half-complained, a ghost of a smile on her lips. "Get us some lunch so w'can get goin' already, Ket."
She gave one of his dreadlocks a quick tug while offering him a cheeky little grin.

Kettil offered a small yelp as she gave him a pinch toward his side gently pushing at her hand afterward, "I am? I guess so...Kinda nervous is all..." He muttered under his breath a small blush forming on his cheeks. It was different from their usual outings. He didn't regret any of this it was just simply different yet the same all around. Kettil wasn't sure what to do with himself around Lark now.
After the tug at one of his dreadlocks he moved to the inside of the shop and did the purchasing of sandwiches and the like before he deemed them 'good to go' and soon enough they were on their way toward their designated picnic spot again.
"You don't feel a little bit nervous?" He asked curiously.

What was he talking about? Nervous? About what? Lark's brows drew together in a frown as she contemplated that. No, she wasn't nervous. This was just a date, right? Pursing her lips, Lark looped her arm through Kettil's.
"Nervous?" She narrowed her eyes.
"What I got t'be nervous 'bout? Ain't like we're … I dunno. Ain't like we're exchagin' vows r'nothin'. S'jest a little date. Yer m'boilfriend 'n I'm yer ghoulfriend n'this is what .. this is the kinda thing boils 'n ghouls do t'gether, ain't it?"
Now he was making her nervous by being nervous. She scowled at him.

He coiled his arm a bit to hold onto her arm in turn as they walked along he furrowed his brow a little bit as he listened to her, "'Course. I just..I don't want to disappoint ya is all, Lar. I want to do the best for ya," Kettil admitted softly. "I am just bein' stupid and puttin' too much pressure on myself is all."
Kettil leaned and kisses the side of her temple pausing only a half a second as they walked in order to do so properly before they continued on, "I just want ya to be happy, my day is always better when ya smile."
The boil offered her a small assuring grin, "I know we'll have lots of fun together like always."

Lark grunted when he started talking, brows knit and lips pulled down into the softest frown. She was about to open that yapper of hers when Kettil leaned down and pressed a kiss to her temple - no easy feat considering their difference in height - but after the soft kiss Lark clapped her mouth shut and melted against him again.
"Y'always make m'smile," Lark whispered breathlessly, nuzzling her forehead against his shoulder before pulling back in order to offer him a dazzling smile. "See?"
That being said, Lark squeezed his bicep, sighing happily. She really didn't think he had anything to worry about. This was going to be the very best day ever, Lark could feel it deep in her chest.

At her smile he just grinned back and nodded a bit, "I do see, Newák'a," he said to her affectionately as he reached up and touched a fingertip to her nose in a playful fashion. Slowly but surely he was starting to relax again and behave more naturally. Either it was the smile that did it or he was just getting into the swing of things he was breathing easier with Lark.
Just don't focus on the 'mistakes'.
Kettil led the way to the appointed picnic spot where he had tucked away a blanket and some drinks, "Wanna help me spread out the blanket or ya just wanna sit out on the grass instead?" He asked curiously at Lark. It didn't really matter to him either way, he wasn't afraid of plants and a bit of dirt.

Lark took a moment to think about it. She didn't much care how they sat; however, she was looking forward to experiencing the full effect of their first date. This meant sitting on a blanket, of all things. With a small smile, Lark moved to pick up the blanket, shaking it out slightly as she waited for Kettil to pick up the opposite end.
Once they were finished and the blanket was spread, Lark moved to plant herself right in the middle of it. She wasn't hungry at the moment, and so the reaper ghoul patted her lap.
"If yer hungry we can eat, else y'can lay down here n' put yer head in m'lap." Blonde brows arched as she awaited his answer, a gentle smile tilting her lips.

He stashed the food where had stashed the drinks with the blanket and simply took the other corner to help his ghoulfriend to place the blanket on the ground. He watched as she settled and offered her a bright smile as he seemed to think of his options.
Eating? Yeah, that sounded fine but the other option Lark mentioned sounded better, plus he wasn't all that hungry, yet.
Kettil move closer to Lark and carefully settled near her and then moved and laid back so that his head rested on her lap, he had to shift a bit in order to do this successfully with a little less awkward involved for everyone (mostly him) . Kettil had taken off Lark's had and had currently brought it down to rest against his chest with a hand on a bit of brim so it wouldn't fly off on a mischievous breeze. He gazed up at her, "Comfortable?"

Lark's hands immediately moved to toy with the feathers and other baubles that decorated his hair, offering him a gentle smile in answer to the question he'd asked.
"Aye," Lark chirped softly, fussing with his hair. The day seemed perfect. A soft, sweet-smelling breeze, birds chirping, the pumpkin sun was almost jolly in the sky if such a thing could even be possible.
"This's pretty perfect, ainnit?"
