He snarled in pain at the teeth in his legs and bucked, pulling at it. All he managed to do was to move his leg against her teeth. He cried out feeling one long sharp tooth scrape bone. This part had to end, and now. A game was fun enough, but he intended to have dinner, not be it. He wasn't beaten yet, however, and he knew that her liver would make the healing process almost pleasent. If the liver tasted as good as she smelled, it would all be worth it, all this pain would be nothing before the feast. He would eat her liver slowly, would savor it. Mayhaps while she was alaive even. But first he had to render her helpless and at his mercy so that he could take his time. Which meant disabling her hooves and more immediatly, her teeth. He had to get free to do any of that, so he twisted, taking the pain, amd tried to fall on top of her, hoping to pull free and crush her, both with the same manuver.

(giving him an auto fail on his first attempt to free himself, so no dice roll. Rolling first die for falling on top of her, and second for freeing his foot. )

Kali snarled as he landed on top of her and his weight forced her to the ground. As he ripped his leg out of her mouth, she savored the taste of his blood on her tongue. For the full three seconds before his weight fully pinned her. Ugh. The beast was HEAVY. That didn’t bode well. Either he was all disgusting fat, or all stringy muscle. She couldn’t begin to imagine what kind of meal he would be, but then again, the taste of blood was oh so sweet…. She snarled and snapped at the nearest thing to her throat.

(rolling for her to bite him wherever.)

Oh the vicious cry when her teeth found the sensitive stump of his tail. The roar like cry was as much fury as pain and would have sent most prey running. But of course she was not most prey, she was a fellow predator, a hunter, which meant that her liver would taste the sweetest of all his recent meals. It was such a shame he had to kill her. He heard a tale once pf a beast of two les whose liver was eaten out every day and regeneated iself every night. Oh if only hers would do that, so he could fight her and feast on her day in and out ntil he gre bored of her.mwhat a feast she'd make. But alas, she'd only have the one livier. Pity that, but still he wanted it. But fist he had to get his tail free. Pinning her was allmwell and good but it made it hard for him to move as well. He tried to postion one of his hind hooves for a horseshoe to the back of the head.

Kali hissed as his hoof connected with her skull. She reeled back, stars dancing in front of her eyes. Quickly, she shook her head, trying to rid herself of the blinding spots. Of course, this only seemed to make the situation worse. She was torn before growling in annoyance and frustration, and laughing. He was being infuriating, and he dare, DARED, to hurt her! He struck her, and worse yet, landed a blow! She couldn’t remember the last time a prey had managed to get such a smarting blow in on her. In fact, she imagined that the last one was the last ogre that she had managed to kill. A chuckle managed to escape from her bloody lips as she blinked away the stream of life fluid that slid into her eye. Had she truly managed to stumble upon another ogre? In this sad, safe little world? In this utterly boring place where the prey were weak and soft and so easily killed? Had she really, truly found a worthy opponent? She was bleeding! Her own blood! Adrenaline was coursing through her veins and she could almost taste it in her own blood. This was…. Was…. Amazing! She let out a full throated laugh and raked her claws against his stomach with a sound that was a mix between a purr and growl.

(rolling for raking him with her claws)

His tail free, he pulled off of her before she could recover, hearing the odd laugh like sound from her. Coming to his feet as fast as he could, ignoring the smarting pain from the leg she had gnawed on, he pivoted and tried to stopm down on her forelegs with his own before she could get up. He did not however, check to see if she was still down before he struck.

(rolling twice, first for speed, second for the hit. If the first fails, disregaurd the second)

As he rolled away from her and avoided her attack, she tucked her back legs under her and pushed herself back to her feet, neatly avoiding his strike. With a half step to the side, she struck out at him again, this time aiming for his head, intending to give him a matching gash to the one on her own skull.

(roll for a strike to the head)

He dodged away from her, pivoting on a hind hoof. Pain shot through him. But he'd feel better once he fed, he knew. So all he had to do was knock this stupid mare out. He threw his head to the side, going for a head-bash, thinking that since she was wounded there, he could knock her out easily.

She saw him coming and guessed what he was going to do. It was almost laughable that he actually thought he would succeed. Perhaps it was that thread of arrogance that made her just a hair slower than him. The blow connected and she saw stars. RED stars. As she stumbled back, she hissed, furious with him for successfully landing a blow, furious with herself for underestimating him. It was not a mistake she would make again. This was no longer a game, no longer a hunt. This was a matter of personal pride, and pride was something a cat, of any sort, took lightly. This… this…. RODENT had dared attack her! Oh, sure, up until now, it had been fun, entertaining even. She had allowed it to go on, because he had amused her. The scent of her blood mingling with his had only heightened her excitement. But that headbutt…. That had done something that she simply could not and WOULD not forgive. Ever.

“You little…” she snarled an insult, stumbling down to her knees as she tried to shake away the stars in her vision. “You smashed my hat!”

And yes, THAT was what had insulted her so. Stain her pelt with blood. Fine. That was the best look for her, really. Shred her skin to ribbons. Whatever. She would heal from that. Rip her cloak? Psh. She’d simply take another one off her next victim. But touch her hat? Oh no, you did NOT go there. Never, ever, touch the hat. Not if you wanted to live anyway. With a snarl, she lunged to her feet, snapping her very sharp teeth at him, intending to sink her fangs into his throat and finish this. Normally she only killed ogres, and she wasn’t about to give him such a lofty title. Still, she was making an exception for him.

Of course, the stars were still half blinding her, pain making her clumsy, and so she missed, which only served to increase her fury. She growled every insult and curse she knew, including a few she had forgotten she’d learned from ogres gone past.

He smirked when she missed. His head spun slightly, so he knew it had to be so much worse for her. He could practically taste her liver already. It would be sweet, one of the sweetest ever. Pumped full with the special flavor of terror that only comes when arrogance falls, when one who thought they could not loose at last fell. He no longer wanted to wait, his mouth watered. "Liver," he whispered, starving. Of course, warning his prey of exactly where he was going to strike, where he was eying. But then, he was fairly single minded, and Liver was possibly the only word he had said to her thus far. So maybe it wasn't telling too much. Of course, he wasn't thinking that deeply. He was just dreaming of the taste for her liver as he charged, jaws open, at her flank. He knew the best spot to get to a liver, but the added challenge of her still being up and fighting? Delicious. Sure, there was tons in his way, and it usually took several bites to get to the Liver, but the flesh between air and liver made a good appetizer.

(Rolling for if he can actually bite her flank)

She snarled as his teeth sank into her flank and she slid one paw under his belly ranking upward with another snarled insult. At the same time, she dove her teeth toward his throat.

(first roll for the claws, second for the teeth)

He staggered back as her claws raked his underbelly. Okay, that one HURT! A hoof slipped in his own blood, staggering him back. He tried to pull to his feet before she could retaliate, licking the blood from his teeth. At least he knew that her flanks tasted so deliciously, wonderfully good. Her liver would be amazing. He just had to survive to get to it.

A triumphant growl escaped her as she felt her claws rake flesh, even as she snarled at missing his throat. When he stumbled, she swiped at his face, intending to try and take an eye.

(rolling to see how bad the injury is, even being BAD, odd being glancing)

He snarled in fury and pain as her claws took out a chunk of flesh just over one eye, blood poured down from it into his eye. He closed it against the blood, but enough still leaked through the eyelid that he tried to use as a shield against it, stinging badly. He danced away from the puddling blood and closed his other eye. Better no vision then poor depth perception. He could smell the difference between her blood and his, and more of hers was on her then was on the ground. And a fair amount of her blood was, more specifically, on her flank. He circled, getting all of his information from his nose as he moved, confident in his ability to smell all he needed to. He lunged towards where he thought her wounded flank would be.

(He now needs a 4 or an 8 to succeed, and anything else - 1,2,3,5,6,7 - fails. Rolling first for his finding the right side of her, if that succeeds, the second is for if he can do it fast enough that he has a shot at making an attack, and the third roll is for an attack. So he needs to get a 4 or an 8 on EACH roll to succeed in his attack)

Kali stumbled back just narrowly missing having her flank attacked again. How? This wasnt possible! He was half blind! She knew that strike had connected! She had felt her claws slice through flesh. It was such a delicious sensation that she would never. Mistake it for something else, no way would she imagine cutting him open when she hadn't even touched him. Besides, she realized, he had his eyes closed. Both eyes. She would have kicked herself if she hadnt been so focused in circling her current prey. Of course. She was covered in her own blood, just as he was. He was clearly a predator, a hunter, he could smell her. That was why he had attacked her wounded side rather than go after an easier target. Not that she was presenting an easier target. She needed to clean the scent off her pelt somehow, but how? A river. There had to be a river nearby. Perhaps she could drown him while she was at it. Kali didn't much care for water or being wet, but she could tolerate it if it got the job done. She backed away a bit more.

"fancy a bit of a run, bone brain?" she purred, refusing to let any hint of her previous confusion to show in her voice. He was virtually blind. She could and would take advantage of that.

Liver! He wanted her liver, he could smell it. It was so close. He licked his chops, circling as she put things together, trying to get back around to that spot where the blood scent was the strongest, where the liver had the least to protect it. Her words barely penetrated the red fog of hunger the scent of blood enticed from him. But he was still a hunter, and she was his prey, his meal, his liver. Some other soq nattering about, he probably wouldn't have heard, wouldn't have been aware of, wouldn't have noticed. But he was fixated on her, and since his eyes were closed, his ears were now his second strongest sense that was of use. At this stage in the game, his nose was his most important information gathering tool, regardless of if his eyes were open or closed. He could smell her blood, more importantly, he could smell her liver. But when the hunt was over? When she could only scream, and no more fight? That's when his favorite sense trumped all else. Eclipsed all else. He'd happily give up every other sense if he could always wash taste in the delicious wonder of fresh fear filled liver. His other senses were only there to serve his tongue and stomach. To fuel his hunger for liver. So yes, he heard her words, and smirked, that tongue dancing about his teeth. "You really think you can run? Why not just lay down and die already? How much easier would that be?" he asked. While speaking, he lunged at that all too enticing side again.

(Rolling first to see if he can circle around her, the second, if the first wins, is to see if his teeth connect with her wounded side....)
