"I.. ....guess..." Deimos shifted uncomfortably, looking confused. Why wasn't Tethys there to tell him what to do? What was he supposed to do? A familiar feeling was blooming somewhere inside him. This felt like the way things used to be. Without Tethys there to steer him he felt lost and powerless. Like that useless Galactic Grunt working under Cyrus. Over the last few years he'd thought he was in control.. making big choices on his own without any help. But he'd been away from her less than a day and he was already lost in the woods...
What did that mean?
He ran fingers through his hair distractedly, trying very hard to compose himself, "What.. what do you want to know?"

This was certainly progress, even though Faleen was sure that he was still hesitant. But she took this as a good sign.
"Well, I was hoping to start here." She replied to his last question, once more placing the tablet down on the table so that he could see the screen. Pulling up the display of the Yanmega yet. with its most updated scans and stats, every scrap of information the Rockets were able to gather, with, and mostly without Star's help. The power source was not included in this data, where that information would fall in seemed to deviate to another window out of sight for now on the Tablet.
She would get that the power source, right now just start with basics. "What do you think?" Faleen asked, rather vaguely, her eyes settled on him,

Deimos leaned closer to look at the screen, rubbing one of his eyes. He stared at it several moments, then looked up at Faleen, "..it's my Yanmega jet." He looked like he hoped this was enough of a response.

His more then obvious statement drew a soft nod from the Agent. "Yes." she acknowledged, pausing with an expectant stare, but continued before he could say anything more, her hand had moved down to the screen of the tablet. "I'm most familiar with building machines." Faleen started. "I could probably spend hours going over the chassis, and construction of this jet, But as far as that goes, while it is state of the art, its nothing that we couldn't comprehended. Its what lays within that raises the most questions." A finger tapped onto the 3D model, highlighting the section where the power source lies.
Her pleasant expression faded slightly, dropping her features into a more business like demeanor, letting her hands fold in front of her. "You told me before, that you used zero point energy as a power source for a device we've been calling the 'G-ball'." Hazel eyes glanced to the tablet, then back up at him. "Is that what this is?" Porygon drew up the model for the jet's power source onto the Tablet.
While she had the G-ball, she had not had its source of power, so she honestly didn't have anything to compare what they had in the Jet now too.

Deimos' eyes slid back down to the pad. His brow knit. He looked very uncertain on whether or not to proceed. A moment passed. Then another moment. He glanced vaguely in the direction of the isolation cells. His hyperventilating had finally calmed down.
"Uhm.." He looked at the pad again and answered quietly, "It's one of the things... in there.."

She expected this, finding that his answered were short, and did little more then to cause Faleen to poke with further questions. Star had explained it this way too. Following is glance back toward the cells, then back to him
"Please, feel free to elaborate." Was all she replied.

Deimos scratched his arm, looking uncomfortable. It was a stark contrast to sitting in the cave happily rambling on about his work. "Uhm.. well.... it's.." He pulled the pad closer to look at the schematics, "It's got zero point energy as a function.. I mean.. that's just the type of power... .. I guess some people think zero point energy is limitless cause it has infinite density but that's dumb.." He fidgeted, "S'just.. really efficient... but it still needs to be replenished.. s'why the multi-storage pokeballs need to charge... they just don't hafta charge often.. and they can handle high energy demands..." He stopped fidgeting and dropped his hands to his lap, "I didn't really wanna charge my planes and stuff though.. so I used some of the matter remapping designs from my Machine in the... .... ..in the....." At mention of the Machine something hung up and his mumbling quieted into silence. After blinking a moment he lowered his head and started crying again.

Her lips thinned when Deimos crying effectively derailed their conversation for a time. Folding her hands in front of her and patiently allowing him a few seconds to himself. Using the time to try and determine how the heck she was going to deal with this.
"Ah, yes." it was through a heavy breath that she spoke, pausing for a few more seconds. "I imagine much of your tech has taken elements used in 'The machine.'?" Faleen wasn't as all oblivious as to why he was crying, or at least, part of the reason why. She was fully aware of how long a project like that would take to make, and it seemed a huge part of Team Galactic, and it was obvious from the beginning it was damaging to him personally.
As his head was down, she couldn't help a soft sneer from crossing her lips, followed with a cold stare at the purple haired form sitting across from her. Her voice was carefully composed however. "Goodness... you certainly found yourself in the wrong line of work, didn't you."

"You ruined it..." Deimos lifted his mismatched eyes to look at Faleen. They were glassy, still sending tears down his cheeks, "All of you.. you destroyed it. You destroyed everything." He sniffed and hugged his arms, gaze shifting to the floor, "I hate you.."

Locking into his dual colored eyes when he glanced up at her, with a distinct growing shadow in her own Hazel eyes. "You have no one to blame but yourself for the fate of your machine, for the fate of any of your mech."
This wasn't the direction she wanted this conversation to go, he wasn't able to concentrate on the subject like she needed him too. "Anything we ruined was not out of desire, but out of necessity." Her voice became sharp, and to the point, a sound that only grew more bitter as she continued. "I've never, ever in my life been forced to destroy a machine before you showed up. And all for what? Because you want everything in the world to be your way?"
Child. Arrogant, stupid child. This is what you get for poking the hornets nest.
Her head shook, freeing loose strands of blond hair from behind her ear. "You are more then entitled to hate us, but its not going to help your situation."

"...the world is broken." Deimos lifted his eyes to look at Faleen again, still hugging his arms. "It's broken and.. full of horrible people. We're going to fix it. We're going to make it better. For everyone."

Faleen stared at him for a couple of seconds, her gaze losing some of its spite. "I would never disagree with that." She agreed. "But what exactly makes you think that someone like you gets to dictate what 'a better place' would be?" she learned forward, "Would my colleagues and I be in this better world of yours?"

"We are people." she corrected him, with a soft voice. "The only difference we have from everyone else you seem to think deserve a better world, is that we do our lying, stealing, and backstabbing without a mask. So in my perspective, how can we be any worse? How are we any different?"
She sat back up. "The only way you can ever have your better world is if humans don't exist at all." She lifted a hand, tilting her head to the side in a casual gesture "That brings my point of opinions as well. What I said, is my opinion, go about base and you'll get different answered from everyone... So I have to question again-" her gloved hand lowered back onto the table "What makes you qualified to make the decision for the rest of the world?"

Deimos' brow furrowed. This conversation was obviously getting a little too existential for him. "I.." he shook his head, "Who else is gonna do it? No one else is doing anything. I'm just gonna make things the way they're supposed to be. I know how."
