He was quiet, a nod of his head the only answer. Maybe he had done all he could, but it hadn't been enough. He hadn't been able to stop them from taking her, from taking him. And though they were all physically unharmed, he was certain none of them would be the same. It wasn't as simple as just waking up from a dream.

"You may be right."

Though it felt more like death had cheated them.

A quiet sigh, he looked away, gazing at the distant sky. After several moments he looked back, the faintest hints of a smile as he reached out to take her hand.

"You could...stay here and watch the stars with me."

Perhaps he could find some trace of the peace she seemed to have found in the stars he had always cherished, at least for one night.
