Collecting herself, Athene dodged the vines, keeping herself a good distance away from them while getting herself closer to the jadeblood, feet pounding into the ground. Glad for the boots she was wearing, she used a burst of energy to sprint forward, garrote firmly in hands. Taking a dive at the jadeblood, she used it to slash against him, hoping to hit any part and draw some form of blood. It was pretty sharp wire, after all.

HP: 1040/1100 As he took his machete back up, the grid of vines thickened, more sprouting out and wrapping around each other, coiling, growing more and more to resemble a rope. Or a fuse. "The defense mechanisms of flora can be truly amazing. Did you know some are built to survive fires?" He was panting slightly. "And use that to their advantage by producing incredibly flammable oils, just waiting to be caught alight, to use that fire to burn down other plants invading their turf." He pulled a small block of stone out of a pocket, and crouched. "It's incredible to watch them regrow after such devastation, when it looks like they've lost everything." The machete caught the flint, the tiniest spark traveling to the pattern of weeds, igniting a wall of fire that began slowly spreading across the field, setting the criss-crossed vines and the ones that had bound the players alight. The dodge rolls go like this:
IF YOU'RE ENTANGLED:
If you roll a 1, your troll is straight-up ignited from the waist down, and that is all there is to say on the matter. Take a whopping four damage.
If you roll a 2, you frantically try and tear off the vines as you see the fire spreading. You succeed in tearing off most of them before the fire gets to you, but you still take three damage, and deal one less damage than normal in your panic.
If you roll a 3, you tear most of the vines off as the fire approaches, and switch to the offensive when it meets you. Take 3 damage, but deal normal damage.
If you roll a 4, you manage to hack the vines off and take off, but still end up getting caught by the flames as they spread in the grid pattern of the weeds. Take 2 damage.
If you roll a 5, you rip the vines off in one go with newfound strength, but in your haste to get away, you trip and scramble in an effort to get up. Take no damage, deal normal damage.
If you roll a 6, you catch the full fury of the flame as you're lit up, still wrapped in vines, and take four damage. However, the pain brings with it a fury and desperation unlike any other, and you deal six extra damage in a raw burst of power.
IF YOU'RE NOT ENTANGLED:
It's a lot simpler.
If you roll a 1 or 2, your troll, while not caught in the weeds, gets scorched by the grid. Take two damage.
If you roll a 3 or 4, you nimbly avoid the flame, taking no damage, and dealing normal damage.
If you roll a 5 or 6, your troll takes a level in badassery and rips up a fistful of the flaming plants, flinging them at Aendal, dealing an extra two damage in addition to your roll.
Any entangled trolls will have their bindings burned off this round, but everyone had a lick of sense and cut themselves free anyway, gold stars all around. Next round at: 12am EST

HP:16/20 However, that sprint she had done earlier had given Athene little energy and she was scorched, hissing as she checked the possible burn she had. It wasn't bad, but oh did it hurt and her clothing! Singed cloth was awful and she bristled at the fact that her hard work was ruined. Oh this jadeblood was going to pay for it!
Racing forward again, she took another dive at the jadeblood, using the wire to try and wrap around his arm for a second before yanking it back. While it wasn't the best idea, it did some form of damage, right? She danced back with her garrote firmly in her hands after the attack, hoping to stay away from any more deadly traps.

Slashing at the thorns that tried to wrap around her legs again, she hurried around, dashing the hell away from the thorns. The thorns set aflame, making Vremea finally screech in horror as the flame danced from thorn to thorn like a gypsy troll dance. Watching them, her eyes filled with fear as she scrambled away from the fires, throwing sand onto the fire frantically to try and put it out. She trembled, eyes looking down towards the desert sand with fear. She couldn't think... Fire. Fire... Oh gog... Whimpering, she looked towards the jadeblood, whom was smirking at them.
She huffed, calming herself down enough to compose herself.
She dashed into battle, looking out for any fires that might singe or hurt her, and attacked the jade blood.
She needed to be strong. Just this once. For herself and her friends.
She wanted what was best for them. She wanted to live.
Vremea did 3 damage.

Attention previously averted to fixing her weapon, Odette's head perked up when she heard the jadeblood start talking again. OH GOG HE'S SETTING THINGS ON FIRE?! Odette panicked. Nearby trolls screamed out in fear as they watched the flames encroach upon their tied-up legs. In retribution for their cries, Odette scooped up a nearby clump of flaming vines with her glaive and tossed it at Aendal.

Odette lunged at Aendal one more time, and thankfully this hit went without a problem. She was in the process of finding a proper balance of power. She was in fear that she might break her weapon again, so she didn't use all of her force, but didn't hit him too lightly, either. It was just right.
Odette did 3 damage.

Just as she thought she was getting the hang of things, Odette went in for another attack, this time missing her mark just barely. She backed away from the jadeblood momentarily to recover her footing and breathing. This fight took a lot of endurance that Odette didn't have after that long journey. Taking a look around, she saw Vremea and Athene fighting with all of their energy. They had just been through the same challenges as Odette, and they were still fighting strong. I have to keep going for them, she thought, charging back into battle.

HP: 1011/1100 Aendal's expression only grew colder as the battle continued, no rage or panic, just cool-as-a-cucumber murderous intent. As the last of the fire died down, leaving a checkerboard pattern scorched into the ground, he raised his machete like he was going to go on the offensive himself, and hesitated. Rather than just rushing into the fray headfirst, and risking giving anything away, he stopped. He kept his weapon raised, in an attempt at a defensive position, as buds throughout the field opened, revealing flowers so full of pollen they could barely contain it, the laziest breezes carrying it into the air. Small pods equally filled with spores joined them, and soon the air was downright thick with various powders. The jadeblood had pulled the bottom of his hood over his face, but it was too late for the rebels, by the time they realized what was happening, they were already surrounded. The dodge rolls go like this:
If you roll a 1, your troll inhales irritant spores. It's like getting a nice faceful of cayenne pepper, except less delicious. Take two damage.
If you roll a 2, while these spores don't light up your night on the way down, they do instantly make you feel sick. Poison. Take one damage every roll you make for the rest of this round, and all of the next one.
If you roll a 3, the pollen you inhale makes you feel lightheaded and weak. Each of your attacks does one less damage for the rest of the turn.
If you roll a 4, your movements get sluggish, heavy as you inhale whatever particles these plants are putting off. You take one extra damage every time you take damage, for the next three rounds.
If you roll a 5, you suddenly feel amped. Pumped, wired, crunk from the pollen of the plants near you. You deal double damage for this round, but the crash from such a rush of energy causes you to take double damage next turn.
If you roll a 6, you...feel great? Not doped or overly hyped, just...better. Recover two HP??? Did he even mean to grow these? Next round at: 2am EST

Odette assumed it was just adrenaline pump-starting her system. She thought her nose was too stuffed to really breathe in much pollen. But whatever was going on in her body, it was working. She was a force of nature, cutting and jabbing at the jadeblood with no hints of letting up. It was almost like she was dancing around him, hitting different spots, looking for any signs of weakness.
Odette did 8 damage.

Whatever was inside of her and giving her strength was surely starting to wear off. Odette started feeling signs of dizziness, and she felt like she was going to vomit. Her mind was yelling at her, telling her to back off, now. But her body refused to cooperate. Come on. she thought. Just. One. More. Hit.
Odette did 4 damage.
