It was a good question. Amity was his first school so he didn't really have a point of reference. Well, he knew that it was not conventional, but he wasn't really sure about a few of the details. He had come here because it was supposed to be the best, and he wanted to become really strong. A simple goal, but he saw now how damn vague that was.

"Yeah. Well.. I know other schools don't usually get their students killed on field trips," he said with a weak grin.

But... the other schools were targeted by hunters as well, to some extent at least. Apparently those were more under wraps. It was really hard to say.

She laughed at his answer to her pondrance, pulling her legs to sit up on the edge of her seat with her in a position that couldn't have been described as comfortable in the least, yet it didn't seem to bother her in the least. Might have been one of those dog things where discomfort almost seemed to not exist.

"I hope not! Or else I'm gonna be angry we're getting flack for it happening!" she grinned. "I dunno, I kind of like the risk. It feels more.....real...to me." she admitted. "I feel like going through Amityville I've become more of an adult through its trials than I would have any other way." Maybe she hadn't been ready to be an adult yet.

But time wasn't going to wait for her to be ready, either.

That aside, however, Shehk soon leaned over to the person seated next to them, noticing the piece of paper they were looking at and pointed to it. "May I?" she asked, taking the piece from them before leaning over to Jericho to show him the outline as well.

"Each short is about 20 minutes long according to this, and they're showing seven of 'em."

The Paper Shehk Has

1. Under the Bed - Comedy/Slice of Life - 18 mins
2. The Dark Descent - Adventure - 22 mins
3. Dragon's Claw - Mystery - 24 mins
4. In Silent Hill - Mystery/Horror - 18 mins
5. Minipet Farm - Horror - 21 mins
6. The Humans - Horror - 27 mins
7. Sparkly Vampire - Horror - 21mins

"Going here has definitely been an eye opener. It almost feels like more has happened to me in this past year than I've experienced for most of my life. A pretty big change in pace."

In a way, Jericho wondered how some students still managed to be naive about certain things despite everything that was going on. Well, ignorance is bliss as some would say. Shaking his head to himself, he leaned over and took a look at the movies listing. Well a few of them sounded interesting at the very least.

"Good selection here," he commented. He didn't know what else to say since he hadn't heard of any of these titles prior.

"To be honest, I don't know if I experienced more here then I did before." she admitted. "I know I've been awake for a long time, but....they say the brain gets addled in death, so I actually don't remember as much as I'd like about being awake for a long portion of time." She'd actually never mentioned that to anybody before. She couldn't remember much outside of actually being at the school.

In the monster dorms for some reason.

Still, Shehk seemed content with the variety. "No Rom-Coms, that might be unfortunate. But I do like horror, so we'll see how those are." she mused as she gave the paper back to the person she'd borrowed it from with a 'thank you', then turning back to Jericho.

"At least if we don't like something it won't be lasting too long, right?" she said grinning. "I'd like to sit through at least three of these if you're up for it, but we can leave whenever you're ready too."

Furrowing his brow, Jericho tilted his head at the girl next to him. Being a monster, he didn't have much of an idea of what it was like that many of the ghosts and undead experienced.

"That sounds hard to deal with, not being able to recall everything," he frowned. At the same time, he could only imagine that if there was anyone she knew in her previous life, that they may struggle with all of this as well. For a slightly different reason.

Shaking his head again, the dragon did another visual sweep of the area. Just to make sure nothing was out of place. Everything looked... alright for now.

"Horrors are always good. And there's one adventure movie. That might be fun," he said, "Three movies sounds good to me. That's... about the length of one feature length I think so it works out."

Shehk nodded a bit. "It was harder for me when I suddenly started having Decebal - that's my sire - contact me via mail and I couldn't remember who he was." She laughed nervously. "But.... I dunno, it seems like it was a process." She shifted to lay her head on her knees. "When I was home with him last summer, he was telling me that when I first reanimated, I only had muscle memory to my name. I'd forgotten how to speak, read, understand language, all survival instinct was gone for the most part........ so I'm kind of glad I don't remember that."

It was strange to think about.

Still, it seemed like people were getting settled in and someone was beginning to fuss with the projector, lighting up the screen with a few small 'FROM OUR SPONSORS' promotions while they set up the movie reel for the set up for the evening, Shehk watching them curiously.

"Yeah, three shouldn't be too bad. Plus it'll be entertaining to talk about the plots - or lack of plots - in them afterwards."

That sounded... not very pleasant at all. Though if Shehk really had been feral like that upon her first awakening, that probably explained why she hadn't remembered much of anything. Then again, that probably was for the better.

"I don't blame you," he said while scratching his head. Jericho's attention soon turned towards the screen as the sponsor clips began to play. The show itself was going to begin soon then.

"True enough! I hadn't seen too many indie films so.. this should be interesting," he nodded while waiting for the ads to finish so that the first film of the day could come up.

Feral and somewhat baby like if she recalled how Decebal had described her.

Still, Shehk settled in contently as it seemed things were going to get rolling, scratching at her arms irritably again as the clips slowly tapered out and the first of the little shorts began to play. It was almost adorable, introducing a rather standard looking character who's job was to frighten children from underneath their bed. It was almost nostalgically classic. In fact, it was turning out to be a little bit... too classic to Shehk, who made a face as the plot went on. She couldn't really say there was anything about it that stuck out to her as a 'nice' thing.

Too pleasant.

Too..
...

She wasn't sure, everything just seemed so normal she couldn't get into it. At all. The look on her face said this as well as she crinkled her nose and looked at Jericho, trying to not facepalm as another bad joke was made...

"Oh my Jack, how can anybody have thought this was a good idea..?" she asked, giggling underneath her breath as she whispered exceedingly quietly.

Jericho stared at the screen. This... was...

Kinda of really horrible.

It was like they were trying too hard to be funny and a lot of things felt really forced and it made it incredibly cheesy. Frowning, he just sort of stared blankly at the screen, wondering how much longer this film was going to go on.

"I don't even..." he started.

But he didn't know how to finish that statement. And yet he actually heard an individual or two in the crowd laughing sincerely at the jokes. His eyes narrowed. Only a hunter would enjoy this.

Right?

Shehk was borderline laughing at just how bad it was. "Oh mannnn, maybe this just isn't my brand of humor, I don't know. Or maybe I'm just too old to think that professionally scaring children underneath their beds is a viable life goal." she snickered. But maybe the next one would be better.

And oh it was. Shehk really liked adventure movies. Where some not-so-normal individual had a quest thrust upon them. This poor soul had a family artifact stolen and went off to get it back, off across the world interrogating individuals who it happened to pass by to try and find it. Dramatic face-offs, a thief that couldn't quite be placed because they stayed just out of reach, one step ahead. The wards to try and keep the hero from making progress.

And then the twist murder at the end, in which the main character and the villain they'd been stalking had a show off over the dead body. The mysterious body-vanish. The motivations.

It was beautiful, and Shehk actually had squeezed down on Jericho's arm while waiting to see how it all played out, holding her breath....probably the entire time because she was physically capable of it.

The first movie couldn't have ended any sooner. Letting out a breath, he rubbed his head and waited for the next film to come on up. This one was a great deal more enjoyable than the last one. Perhaps the crappiness of the first movie made this seem even better but regardless, it was a good watch. It probably helped that Jericho was always up for adventurey things. Perhaps it was in his blood. Being a red dragon. Hell, his dad was a tomb raider for crying out loud.

Plus it had a shiny artifact.

That was always a bonus.

Jericho was grinning by the end of it, though he looked over at Shehk when he felt her squeeze his arm. At first he thought she wanted something but then he realized it was more of a gut reaction to the excitement going on the screen.

"That was pretty awesome," he commented.

Shehk nodded back to Jericho enthusiastically. "Yes! I really enjoyed that! The plot wasn't the most original, but the pacing and the little things they did to it really made up for it." she beamed. If they stayed good like that, she'd sit through a couple more of 'em!

But the next one would probably tell her what her opinion of sticking around for a few more of the shorts would be.

It may have just been after how good that last one had been that the one to follow it - a nice little mystery tale - was just a bit over average in her opinion. Not bad, not amazing. The plot twist was somewhat expected, but the pacing was nice and it at least looked pretty. Albeit, she did like the clothing for the setting as well as the shiny trinket they'd been flashing around. The cause of all of the strange happenings.

A single dragon's claw, suspended in amber and framed in gold.

"Seems fitting. A piece of a dragon suspended in such a nice presentation." she noted, tilting her head to one side before she looked to Jericho to see what he thought. "But I'm not all that well knowing on the front of shiny things. What do you think?" she inquired, pondering over over how many more shorts there were to watch.

"Think you're up for any more? Or would you rather get out of here?"

Jericho nodded, agreeing with what Shehk said there. Shifting his wings, he just settled back down, waiting for the next feature to begin. The film itself was alright from what he could tell. The air of mystery was adequate and the plot wasn't too bad so far, but that item seemed to have caught his attention quite a bit. In fact, he almost didn't hear Shehk because he was too busy staring at it.

"I think I need one of those," he stated before the movie went to the credits. Snapping out of the sort of trance it had left him in, he thought about her next question for the moment.

Another movie?

"Hmm... Maybe just one more? We can book it after that," he replied.

His reaction to the shiny was about exactly what Shehk had been expecting, grinning as though she knew something that Jericho didn't, but laughing as he seemed to snap out of his little 'shinnyy objeecttt' trance the last two films had put him in. They'd both have shinies in them, but the next one, not so much.

"One more? Alright, sounds like a plan." Shehk grinned, hoping it would at least be distracting enough for her to pull the stunt she was planning to, checking her pocket again. It was a sort of paranoid always-check-to-make-sure-you-have-your-stuff kind of checking.

However, the first thing that struck her about the fourth feature was that it was very.....foggy. Shehk knew that was an immediate deterrent for her current company, squeezing his arm knowingly, but not saying anything. It didn't help that the plot of the short was 'people come out of the fog and shoot all the things' more or less.

Okay, one of them had an axe, it looked like, but either way, the plot was very...

home hitting.

She imagined she would have liked it more if it wasn't so personal to her, frowning before she laid her head onto Jericho's shoulder with a small frown.

"Yeah...I think this might be the last one for me too....."

There was a slight look of confusion on Jericho's face as Shehk grinned at him like that. Did he say something odd? Whatever. He just shrugged it off and turned back to the movie, just in time to miss her peeking into her pocket like that. If he had, he would have raised some eyebrows there.

The fog.

It made Jericho frown immediately and he was visibly tensing. No, he was not liking this one much at all. It was making him more wary of his surroundings. His eyes would dart away from the screen just to scan the crowd, as if expecting one of the people to suddenly have a net gun in their hands ready to fire at the unsuspecting denizens.

"Yesss... Let's get out of here. That last film put a bad taste in our mouths..." he growled lowly.
