Riley shifted slightly in it's arms, pleased at it's response. Really. She purred smoothly. I like being your teacher. You're such a fast learner. She leaned her head in, and it was her turn to stimulate the plague doctor's limbic system, though her light little kisses were a thing of the past. She lingered there, elongating the stimulus, for a few minutes. Then she released it, and chuckled. I always knew, you know. Her voice was as soft as a whisper. From the first moment I touched your mind, when we crossed paths on that train. I tasted it there, and I can still taste it now. How very special you are.
She sighed, and snuggled closer. You were an inevitability even then, for me. I used to think I lost myself that day. Her eyes opened, and she reached up with her free hand and traced one claw down it's beak. Now I know I was finally found.

Tu mi aduli, it chuckled, then fell silent as she occupied its full attention with her kiss, sweet and deep like nothing merely smashing anatomy together could accomplish. Come è stato trovato, e io non sapevo nemmeno mi ero perso.
It felt her trace down its beak, distant and soft; it opened its eyes slowly, after remembering it had them. "Oh, ci sei," it said, opening its beak in a smile. "Ti ho trovato."

Watching those eyes open made her heart flutter, and she slowly, gently started to disentangle her mind from Malodore's. Those words made her cheeks tinge with color, and her lids drop heavily, leaving her eyes barely open. Her finger brushed up and down its mask for a while, simply enjoying the feel of smoothness underneath her fingertips. The delicate silence felt calming, as she reveled in the moment. Time seemed forgotten, and she knew she needed to say no more to express her adoration. Being one with Malodore, and the sense of rightness of doing so, spoke volumes on its own.
It was a moment time forgot, where everything seemed perfect.
And then she saw it.
It was just a glance at something that glimmered in her peripheral vision, and her eyes flickered up to look at it for a brief moment. They returned immediately afterward, and remained staring at the little purple shard, sitting harmlessly in Malodore's hat. It made her heart stutter for an entirely different reason, as memories flooded back into her mind, and she was so very glad she'd disengaged from Malodore before this. Her hands clutched desperately at it once more, and she did her very best to stifle the flood of memory that one, little shard was producing.
Come here. She huffed out quickly, leaning up to snatch the shard from it's hat, and hold it in her hand. Perhaps it's time I do something a little more traditional with this. Anything to mute the memories of that shard, sticking out like a sore thumb from cold, solid metal..

It surfaced obediently, though the sense of the warm rhythm that encompassed her lingered with it. It did not miss the riotous clamor of over-noisy life as it returned fully to its own awareness - sometimes it wondered how the technically-living could stand it - but the fact that the heartbeat was Riley's made all the difference in how dearly it was cherished.
It did not break the silence with an audible sigh, just a mental one, like the gentle ebb and flow of a wave. And then her vision focused abruptly, not on its face but on something else. "What is-" it began, using the common tongue this time, just before her grip on it tightened again.
"I am here," it said wryly, trying not to be too concerned, even as she pulled her token free from its hat. It tilted its head to one side at the mention of tradition. "Have we, truly, ever been anything like traditional? Indeed, I would say we both revel in breaking such things." Its voice was light, gentle, but something was clearly bothering her even if it couldn't quite tell what.
"Do as you wish - I did not give you much of a chance to create your own token, as I did mine, after all," it said, gaze flicking down to her wrist for a moment.

I will enjoy breaking my own tradition of remaining untraditional, by conforming to tradition just this once. She snickered, as she held the shard between two long fingers. Your token of love was sweeter in its creation, though. I am afraid I am wont to cheat. She brushed her face against the tip of its beak, just once, before her eyes focused on the shard, and narrowed.
We used to do this, when we were children. She murmured quietly, her voice sounding distant and distracted. I have not tried it during my time here at Amityville. Or perhaps I tried, and it would not work yet. All in all, I think..
She paused, and all of her attention focused sharply on the shard, as the long shape rounded at it's edges, and bent into itself, forming a perfect, solid circle. The edges rounded even further, until finally the psionic crystal looked nothing like a crystal at all. It was a thin band, which she slipped onto one of it's claws. Yes. Still got it.

"Ah, logical." It opened its beak in a smile, then tilted its head and watched carefully as she focused on the bit of crystal. It knew the structure responded to psionic waves, though it hadn't quite figured out the science behind it. The way the lattice bent and reshaped itself in accordance to her will was utterly fascinating.
When the crafting was done, it looked up at her. "An intriguing skill - I wonder how extensively you might manipulate larger quantities?" it said, then quieted as she slipped the ring of crystal onto one of its claws. The crystal felt faintly warm against its bloodmetal 'skin'.
"Farò tesoro," it whispered, gently bumping its beak against her cheek.

I'm not aware of any limitations to the amount I can control.. if only because we tend to specialize in using small amounts in deadly manners. Unless showing off, that is really all that I've seen or done. But as far as I know, the amount I can manipulate at once is unlimited, if the resources were there. She shuddered throughout her entire body. Though, I would not be comfortable around that much psionic crystal. It would surely attempt to consume me.
She let out a soft sound of content when it bumped against her cheek, and returned the gesture, letting her face rub against the length of it's beak, over and over. Come ho tesoro te, amore mio.

"Hmm..." Malodore closed its eyes and leaned against her contentedly, though part of its mind was still considering what she'd said about the crystals. "Deadly manners, is it? Of what kind? Projectiles, yes, but those are predictable... had you ever considered reducing it to a liquid state, infusing it into a luckless individual, then hardening it while within their body? That would be an interesting experiment...."

Malodore would start to sense a familiar wave of feeling as it spoke of the such things, and she shifted slightly, pulling it closer. It would be impossible to hide anything from Malodore anymore, so she didn't even try. Do you know what they call this? She purred quietly. The colloquial phrase for the effect you have on me when you speak in such ways? You get me all hot and bothered. She snickered and slipped a brief 'kiss' to it, before actually trying to answer the question. I admit I have never considered such an option. It is wicked. Torturous. Ohhh, how utterly delightful. I can't wait to have a chance to try it. She leaned up, and pressed her face against it's forehead, brushing it fondly. This mind.. this beautiful mind.. Her passion for it was shameless.

"Those who study the art of prolonging life inevitably also learn how to hasten death," Malodore said, bobbing its head, the motion stilling when she pressed her forehead against its own. It chuckled.
"And, terrible though it may seem, at times I find myself as fascinated by the latter as the former... so long as the subject is acceptable. Expendable. Shall I expound all of my terrible theories at length for you?"

Riley shivered in anticipation at the offer, and lifted one finger. One moment. The finger crooked slightly, and a soft click echoed from the living room as she locked her dorm room door. She slipped her arms under Malodore and lifted it up easily, carrying it up and settling it comfortably onthe bed. She then flopped on it herself, lying on her stomach with her chin in her hands. I am ready. She purred out thickly, her legs kicking up behind her. Enthrall me.

"Hmm." Malodore opened its beak in a smile. "How about we start with the many things you can do with a scalpel..."
