“Not a great deal to be honest” Arian admitted. “I know that there’s an asteroid by the same name and that Wikipedia auto-directs to its entry on Athena,” his voice was wry as he added. “But apart from that there doesn’t seem to be a great deal of information on Athene.”

At least not any that the dark-haired teen had managed to uncover. “I’m hoping I’ll have better luck here though – the library has quite a few books on Greek mythology.” And so okay so far Arian hadn’t had much luck uncovering anything more - but that didn’t mean he wouldn’t! He just had to find the right book.

Gwen was still holding on to her suspicion, but she knew that there was a time and place for such things. Here, in the middle of the library with eyes upon both of them? Not the time to be prying such secrets out of a possible Senshi, or Negaversian lieutenant. Especially when it would have meant the possibility of exposing her own identity.

Not that looking up specifics about tigers and the constellation weren't keen enough, but she was still young, new to this and thankfully had not gained a reputation as of yet. Well, to Gwen's knowledge, anyway.

She did feel for his plight, though. "Hm, maybe Athene is just one of those enigmas out there. Or, maybe it was a spelling error that went too far?"

She looked down at the books Arian had pulled out for her and skimmed over one of them at random, beginning to wonder if she'll get much information out of this now. But, there was only one thing to do, and that was power read and absorb the information to find out. She liked animals and she especially liked tigers, so there was no doubt that she'd be interested.

"Where do you plan on looking if these books don't have the answer?" Gwen asked, looking up at Arian as she skimmed over the pages. "If the answer isn't on the internet, or in the library, where else would it be?"

“I hope the library does have a book with the information somewhere.” Arian said. “I mean there’s a ton of books in the Greek mythology section, I’m sure one of them has got some information I could use.” Well that and the dark-haired teen hadn’t really thought of an alternative – Wikipedia hadn’t been much help.

He gave Gwen a rueful smile “At least tigers should be an easier topic to research – there must be tons of information on them.” Unlike the needle in the haystack that was his own research. “When’s your assignment due in?”

"No date in particular... or, at least not one coming up anytime soon, but I'm impatient and curious, so I'd like to get started on it early, you know?" Gwen shrugged, skimming through her own book and looking out for anything that caught her interests. Thus far, the first one she chose seemed to discuss the wild cat tiger and not anything in regards to folklore or mythos, yet, but she didn't get her hopes up. Even she, as unknowledgable as she was about matters outside of video games or various fandoms, knew that the tiger was very influential in the east, so it would only be a matter of time before she found SOMETHING of use.

The same could not be said for Arian, however, and she was more drawn to his plight instead. Or she would have been, had she been able to suppress the smallest ping of paranoia about why he would be looking up someone whom shared the same name of a Senshi that had saved her from a youma just weeks ago. What if she did help him find out about Athene and he was a Negaverse or Dark Mirror senshi? Would that have put Athene in danger?

'But, he doesn't look like he'd be trouble... then again, no one can really look at a Senshi, or Negaverse lieutenant and tell them apart from a regular human when they're not transformed.' Gwen thought to herself, skimming over the pages but keeping an eye on the young man across from him. She wanted to break the ice about it, but common sense told her to keep her mouth shut. 'Maybe I'll address it later, when the library isn't so full. Just have to bide my time...'

Patience, something that a tiger was known for, but not so much Gwendolyn Caspian.

Arian nodded at Gwen’s plan to make an early start on her school assignment. The dark-haired teen was one for taking things on face value and the thought never crossed his mind that perhaps there was more to the other teen’s research than a simple school project.

“I’ll probably check this book out at the front desk” he indicated the Treasury of Greek Mythology book that he’d placed next to the pile of books on metal clay “And maybe a couple of these ones too” he gestured to the books on metal clay. “I want try using it in making some pendants – apparently it turns into real metal when it’s fired in an oven.” Okay so a kiln would be better for the stuff, but the books had said that you could use an ordinary oven. “I should probably look for a few more books on Greek mythology first though to go with the treasury book one.”

'He seems more interested in jewel crafting as a hobby... maybe the fact that he's looking up Athene as well is just a strange coincidence afterall?' Gwen thought to himself, looking at him as he explained throwing the jewelry into the oven (knowing little to nothing about jewel making, Gwen was honestly intrigued by the thought... would it get hot enough?). 'Maybe I'm worrying for nothing... I mean, the odds of that happening are slim to none, after all!'

So, she tucked her suspicions to the back of her mind for now, skimming over the book and honestly too caught up with Arian's details about the jewelry to really take in much of anything she was reading. He had the right idea, though. "Looks like I'll be checking out a few books too... I'll just have to keep them out of Micah's grabby little hands, otherwise he'll have himself some new bedding, and I'll be paying the fines."

She didn't want to think about it, though he was always the perfect excuse to get out of doing homework sometimes. This, however, was serious Senshi business. And her wallet couldn't afford for Micah's destructive nature. "I'm going to read a little bit, so if I go quiet, I'm not ignoring you. I read pretty quick, though, so tap me if you need anything."

Arian assumed that the ‘Micah’ Gwen was talking about was a younger sibling, a brother perhaps – Micah sounded like a guy’s name. After giving a nod to the white and black-haired teen at her comment that she was going to read for a while, Arian headed back to the shelves of books on Greek mythology, taking the books that he had already flicked through back with him.

After slipping those books back on the shelves, Arian started working through what was available. Some of the books (well quite a few) were of the dry and not-very-interesting variety – coincidently (or not) they were also tended to be of the thick, hardback variety. There also a few, like the ‘Idiot’s guide to mythology’ that Arian flicked over out of hand, but after around ten minutes of checking through books he was able to find a few that he thought might be useful, such as the book that had been titled simply “Mythology.”

Taking his new finds to add to the Treasury of Greek Mythology he’d unearthed earlier, Arian looked over at Gwen. “I’m giving up for the day” he told the other teen as he sorted the books that he wasn’t planning to check out at the front desk into piles ready to put back on their respective shelves. The dark-haired teen was feeling pretty productive, as he added all but two of the metal clay books onto the pile to back to the craft section.

Gwen hadn't gotten nearly as far into her reading as she would have liked, but she was finding a lot more than she had expected to find. Nothing as far as the constellation of Tsui, but there was plenty as far as the mythos went. She was especially attracted to the information about the famed white tiger, and she was looking deeper into it when Arian had returned and made his declaration. She couldn't blame him; he was here longer than she was, by the amount of books that had cluttered the table top by the time she intruded.

She looked over his collection and gave a nod, keeping an overly enthusiastic smile on her face if only to offer him some encouragement on his endeavor. After all, everyone needed a little support, no matter what the task ahead was. "Got everything you need? I'll likely still be here, reading through these books and more. Forever. But it's okay, I got this."

Gwen reached into her purse and pulled out her cellphone, her regular cellphone, of course, and she flipped it open. "If you want, I can give you my number and if you ever need a study buddy again, you can give me a call. Or if you just want to chat... that's fun too."

Arian nodded “Sure, hang on a moment.” The dark-haired teen paused his sorting of books in favour of rummaging in his rucksack. A few bits of paper were fished out and shoved back in the bag, but eventually Arian found what he was looking for and fished out first a slightly battered notepad and then a grey pencil case with a beaded frog charm hanging from the zip.

Opening the notebook, Arian flicked to the first unused page, tore it from the pad and then into two. One of the halves was offered to Gwen, the other piece the dark-haired teen kept and then, after consulting the cardboard back of the notepad, carefully printed a number using a biro fished out from the pencil case before passing the paper across to Gwen. “Here’s mine too.” It seemed only fair that he offer up his own mobile number. “Maybe we could meet up here sometime.”

"Oh, an old fashion kind of guy... I got it." Gwen thought to herself, quickly rummaging through the phone's options and looking for her own phone number. She was still getting used to this phone; curse her mom for not allowing her to get a cell phone sooner so that she could have learned the ropes with it like other teenagers her age. She finally found it and quickly scribbled it down for him before the phone could auto-lock; that was always a trialing process for her.

"Alright, so, just give me a call or text and we can share our findings if we need to?" Gwen said, quickly putting his number and name into her phone before she could lose the piece of paper, like she usually did. "I'm probably going to go home and do some intense searching for both tigers and this Athene on my own time. Who knows, maybe I'll find something?"

It was certainly worth a shot, Gwen thought. Though she was certain that Athene would be harder to find information on than tigers.

"Until next time, then!" She said with a smile. She may not have found the direct answer she was looking for, but she was certain that she found a friend today, and that was worth something.

“Sure” Arian agreed, slipping the piece of paper with Gwen’s mobile number carefully into an inside pocket in his rucksack.

After putting his not needed books away, the dark-haired teen grabbed both rucksack and his chosen books “Until next time Gwen.”

Although Arian wasn’t leaving the library with any great information on Athene, it looked like he might have met (or maybe re-met was more accurate) someone who might turn out to be a friend.
