Mai flinched in surprise when the attack came, separating her from Vaith. Her eyes locked on her attacker, and she cursed under her breath when she saw what it was. Jack-be-damned, just what were these creatures anyway?
She swung at the thing with her fists. Maybe if she swooshed her arms around in it enough, it would go away. _ - - - STATUS - - - Mai HP: 28/30

Lacie didn't wake up for a white -- her golden eyes slowly opening amidst the commotion. "Ah.." Lacie curled back into a ball, looking for one of the many stuffed treats that accompanied her bed. "Mai, Vaith, Night...?" For some odd reason, the sleeply Lacie caught on quicker than when she was actually .. coherent and awake.
"What are you doing behind a rock?" Her clouded eyes showed that she wasn't yet fully awake -- and not yet taking mind of the shadowed enemy or eerie fog.

"Watch out Lacie!" Vaith shouted, pushing her to the side as Mai ran forward to attack.

Their efforts were rewarded, for rather than continue the onslaught, the thing retreated back ion the all-encompassing fog, yellow eyes fading into the lackluster background as it hissed one last time. Hooooooome.
(( The battle was initiated before rollover, which means it ended once Part 2 started. Sorry guys!
Or Vaith can kill it, that works too. XD ))

Mai sighed as she watched the creature vanish. "That's the second one I've seen," she said to Vaith. Turning, she went to check on Lacie, kneeling beside the ghoul and affectionately pushing a few strands of hair away from her face so that she could check for injury. She seemed ok, just sleepy. "I know how you feel," Mai said, offering a rueful half-smile.
The wisp blinked and looked around suddenly. "Has anyone seen Aurian?" The others were all here, which meant the reaper should be around somewhere right? "What should we do? I heard those two people mention Town Hall.. but.. would it be dangerous to follow them without knowing what's going on?"

"I don't think we should follow them." Vaith had walked over to the tree and pulled the paper from there. He frowned upon reading it, one hand wrinkling the paper slightly. Aurian would appear soon.. surely. Vaith believed in her. Meanwhile ..
"THIS SECTOR HAS BEEN CLAIMED AND IS UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF DEUS EX MACHINA AS OF 12/31/1999."
Vaith briefly wondered what all these numbers were. What was .. Deus Ex Machina? He turned back, walking back towards the group to show them the paper and it's text.
"Assuming.."
Vaith passed around the paper, kicking a stray bubble on the ground into a small cloud of dust. He was suspicious of everything. They didn't quite give off the halloweener population's vibe, especially from the way they talked. Missions? Sentry Duty? Mission reports? Did they even have that in Halloween? Vaith didn't even hear the boogeyman speak of things like .. missions. No, they mostly had frowns. And they looked like hunters.
"..If Amytyville has been taken over, we might not want to head back into town or follow them. The weeping forest might be good .. But it's possible to get ambushed there too. However, if they are enemies, they might expect us to head into town. But a forest give us the advantage .. and disadvantage. But they'll kill us if we come across them. Hunters show no mercy. We cant die in the trials .. if this is even a trial."
Vaith looked around at the group. Doubt laced his tone, trimmed with a tiny bit of fear-- Could they all protect themselves up against the hunters?

While Vaith is still bothering with the dilemmatic situation, he spotted something..........It does not have a fixed shape, but rather like an assemble of fog. You can notice that the fogs on "it" keep moving.........
Oh no...........it's the fog creature again....
Not long after it appears, Vaith hears a strange hiss, it's clearly from the creature, but hard to understand. It sounds like the word "home".
While you are trying to figure out what it says, it seems to provoke attack.
This time it does not choose Mai, instead it is going for Vaith. ((OOC: Damage Done: 3 Target: Vaith HP remaining: 10 HP

Night looked over to Mai as she pulled him away from the two men before blinking. Was that...Vaith? He came over to the reaper before blinking again, they were hiding behind a rock trying to hear the men and then got attacked and then Lacie came and more attacks and then....
"Jack dammit." Night kicked out at the shadow wraith and frowned. Why were all these things attacking?!!?
His ears perked at the voices though as he tried to get a better listen.
"Dues ex Machina?" Night frowned as those words rang a bell but he wasn't sure where? His ears flicked back and forth before laying back.
The shadow thing though was still haunting around them.
"Do we follow them?" Night blinked before looking at the weeping willow forest. This place looked familiar too..."Or you wanna check out around here?" He blinked again before sighing, "I agree with Vaith, I feel better looking around here then, Weeping willows as cover. Besides if they are...." Night frowned at the words of hunters before nodding, "If they are hunters, they'll have people like the man with the scythe, and honestly? Dying hurt a lot and I don't wanna do it again." He looked over his team members and then.."I'm worried about Aurian too...." He left off, wondering where the other reaper had landed. Was she around here?

While the creature attacking Vaith with its hand-like fog part, there is a sudden attack from Night.
Obviously, the creature is not happy with that, it switches its target and creeps towards Night while still hissing the only understandable word.....

At this point Mai was starting to be less curious and more annoyed at these fog creatures.

Instead, it managed to cause some damages on Night. Night seems to catch its interest, It comes to Night even closer while still hissing the only word which everyone wants most now
