The sparkling orbs were beautiful and priceless, like crystallised pearls that seemed so easily breakable and small. How they could do anything powerful was going to be a miracle and when they abruptly stopped as if hitting an invisible wall Ate feared the worst. Circling the Youma they hovered above the ground, glistening and unmoving as they held fast around the monster as if nothing more was to be expected off them. It seemed the anti-climax Ate was dreading. It hadn’t worked.
“No…s**t, I can’t…Athene…” She was nearly speechless (even impending doom couldn’t shut this girl up!) Her eyes watering from the attack, or what she hoped was a result of the attack, ran down her face before being quickly dried with the back of her hand. She tugged at her gloves as she shook her head in disbelief. This wasn’t happening! The Youma was fully healed, its ribs were whole again and if she wasn’t so sure they were mindless creatures she swore she could hear it laughing. She wasn’t about to go down without a fight. Not now, not after everything they had been ******** you! ******** YOU, YOU STUPID ********!! TO-X-IC CYCLO-NE BLAST!! Her hands rose up defiant in front of her, cupping an imaginary ball as she screamed out her attack. Such anger and frustration was poured into her voice that it was surprising not to see laser beams streaming out from her teeth! Instead the hearty collection of rubbish she had collected before started to swim around them. Her hands spread wider apart as she allowed the collection to amass before her and gather strength. It took all of a second for it to finish building but it felt like a life time. Just waiting for the Youma to strike, to knock the beads aside was horrendous.
But if only Ate had a little self belief too.
The beads happened to be more than fine. They were holding their own quite happily without a stressed out Ate screaming in their direction. There needed to be no light show to prove that the magic was working. And as the creature flung itself towards the two Senshi their invisible shield flared up into the darkness to ignite the alleyway. It would have been beautiful if it was for a hobo’s shoe and a hell of a lot of garbage smashing though the barrier and into the Youma’s face.
It squealed.
It yelped.
And it was dusted.
