Virtus was not particularly balanced, so when he was shoved he stumbled wildly and nearly fell over completely. He jerked himself around before he got his feet under him, and was nearly pitched completely backwards as he tried to right himself again.
This fighting thing was hard! All he wanted to do was land one punch! That was what happened in the movies, sometimes. One punch and a bad guy went down. Though, he was sure this senshi was not a bad guy, but.
Still.
Virtus, realistically, had a long way to go to even start dreaming of one hit KO's, but in his head he thought it was totally possible. Not just that, but it was just the way things were supposed to work.
He charged again blindly, having absolutely no battle strategy beyond 'get close and punch'. It was probably not the best strategy, but hey.

It seemed his ploy to put some distance between them work as his shove caused the dark mirror senshi to stumble and almost fall over. Part of Athene actually felt a little sorry for the taller senshi and in other circumstances the dark-haired senshi might have even have tried to offer the other a hand up. Reminding himself of the other’s plan to go and find other people steal energy from, Athene clenched his right fist again and called out the (by now) familiar words of his senshi ability “Blue Beads of Nazar!” Virtus had recovered in the time it took for the beads to form and was charging in his direction as Athene directed the beads towards the blond senshi and hoped that his senshi ability would choose to actually work. There was after all the little factor that in taking the chance to call on his senshi attack that Athene had left himself pretty much wide open. [ooc note: Athene’s basic attack takes the form of a ‘ball of beads’ that can trap a target with ill will towards Athene in a barrier of beads if it connects. (Ill will means that the target wishes to cause some form of harm to Athene). Target can still jump, block, or strike with their weapon - but they cannot leave the ring of beads. Beads can be smashed by someone outside the barrier, smashing half (12 to 15) will bring down the barrier.

The strange thing was the beads had nothing to really target. Sailor Virtus held no ill will toward Athene: he was simply doing his job. He did not consider the White Moon senshi 'bad guys', and had nothing against them personally. He was doing as he was told, as he always did, and even knowing he was in a fight did not alter his perception too much.
He had a habit of simply accepting things as they stood, and not asking questions about it. He did not dig deeper than was presented, and did not get his emotions involved. That allowed his emotions to remain upbeat and cheery, regardless of what he was doing or what side of the war he was on.
So Athene's attack could not trap Virtus.
"What did you say?" he asked curiously, not in a mocking way but because he thought the attack had sounded cool, but then it didn't really do anything. He would be much better at being a bad guy if he meant any of the potentially mocking things that came out of his mouth. But he didn't, not that way. Most of the time he was just being honest.
But it did manage to distract him, either way. He stopped his 'attack', mind completely taken out of the fight at hand. He would have to work on that, too, as much as everything else.

It was unfortunate perhaps that Athene had never understood the mechanics behind his senshi attack, because the fact that his senshi ability did not seem to work on Virtus might have actually told him something. Instead the dark-haired senshi’s heart sank as the beads ‘hit’ the blond Dark Mirror senshi and then started fading away, one bead winking out after the other, his thoughts on the fact that his senshi ability couldn’t have picked a worse time to start displaying its mind of its own tendancies. Except the other senshi had… Stopped? Athene blinked at the taller senshi. Yes he had stopped. Was looking at him, most likely mockingly. Except when Virtus spoke his question didn’t sound particularly mocking or sarcastic – actually to be honest other senshi sounded almost curious. “Um it’s my senshi ability” Athene spoke without thinking, his mind getting stuck on what Virtus’ intentions were. The blond dark senshi confused him.

Virtus was pretty sure the fight was over. They'd 'attacked' one another, and traded blows, and the other senshi had used his attack but clearly did not want to hurt Virtus because he hadn't done anything to him! The beads hadn't even hurt when they bounced off him.
So this guy was being nice, despite everything! Virtus was sure of it. That meant they could talk, and then Virtus would be on his merry way. It was getting late, and he was passed his alloted time for patrol.
He had to get home and feed his rabbits.
"I appreciate that you didn't hurt me with your attack then! I will remember that if we run into each other again! Is it supposed to not hurt? I mean, I'm pretty sure you just did that on purpose, right, so you didn't hurt me. Which is very nice of you! To be honest, I didn't want to hurt you either but I had to try and fight because I'm supposed to. Anyway I should be going soon!"
Sometimes words just fell out of his mouth, and even he only half paid attention to them.

There was a sort of puzzled ‘uhh’ expression on Athene’s face as Virtus continued to fire questions at him. The blond dark senshi wasn’t one that the dark-haired senshi got. If it wasn’t for the energy draining thing then Athene would probably had said the other was okay – he wasn’t exactly giving off bad vibes – well apart from that chaotic aura that he was picking up. And Athene was inclined to believe the taller senshi when he said that he didn’t want to fight – after all Virtus could have gone ahead and attacked him when his senshi ability screwed up and hadn’t which counted for something in the dark-haired senshi’s book. Besides the blond was correct in that Athene didn’t particularly want to fight the other either. “You’re right I don’t particularly want to fight you” he admitted when Virtus finally stopped speaking, managing to smooth the ‘uhh’ expression off his face. “Although I wouldn’t call it being nice – I just don’t like hurting people.” He turned away from the other, before half turning back briefly and adding quietly “I won’t fight you this time, but that doesn’t mean that I won’t fight you if our paths end up crossing in future – not if you plan to continue stealing other people’s energy.” Turning to continue walking the dark-haired senshi took the chance that Virtus wouldn’t try to attack him from behind. In the meantime, he’d probably continue the patrol beat for a little longer before heading back home himself. Lithia_Brandon Last post from me, unless you think it needs another one smile

Virtus smiled and nodded.
It was a warning he got a lot. And he tried to avoid those that gave it, because then they wouldn't have to fight. But he knew that inevitably there may be a time when he ran into this senshi again and they would have to fight.
And he would have to do better than he had this time.
But right now he didn't have to worry about it!
Smiling, he waved as Athene made to leave, then turned and bounced off toward his home. He would power down once he got inside: he never really thought about the fact that others could feel his energy and someone might get the idea to follow him. One of these days he would realize that being a Dark Mirror Senshi was more than he realized.
But probably not any time soon.
