"That'd be really sound of you man. Erm. Nice." He nodded, though he was saddened to hear alcohol wouldn't be in the equation, would have been nice to find someone to rope into getting him booze. "Probably for the best no booze though, Clarice herself would probably kick my a** if I got hold of that." He laughed. "But the posters and s**t sound good to me man." The idea of having something, anything to look at other than bare walls was very heartening.
He /had/ to wince at the mention of how she'd broken her nose, rubbing his own nose. "Fuuuck man. That had to have been sore." He ran his finger along the scar on his own nose. "I got this sleeping with my friend's girlfriend apparently. He flipped his ******** lid. I don't even /remember/. I just woke up in casualty." He laughed. "I say friend, obviously noot friends after that s**t." It was nice to talk about something other than the doom and gloom of the 1999 files, so much so it was hard to quell his good mood. "Does sound like Leon's maybe an awright guy if he doesn't want to flex at you like a big gorilla." He grinned toothily, not being quite as cruel as usual.
Rep actually really enjoyed getting a feel for events on the island before his arrival, he'd always been a fan of hearing out other people's recollections, after all, he wouldn't enjoy social drinking and hanging out as much as he always had if he didn't actually have an interest in people. It was only lately he'd relaxed enough to stop going on an immediate offensive. Of course there'd always be people who set him off, but for whatever reason Cass didn't seem to be one of them. He'd made a few barbed comments but none of them had gotten a rise out of her so he'd given up for the time being. Instead he was intrigued to hear what she had to say.
"So you guys have met a horseman before?" This was definitely of interest to him, he still had no idea what they even were really. "No one's ever ******** briefed us new guys on what they even are. Other than now we are a bit more aware they are dangerous. Would be nice to have some backdated info to get an idea what we are facing. But that'd need organisation and I don't really think this place has ever been ******** organised. You know those golem things you have to use on Deathsweeper? H told us they were MAGIC. I still don't ******** know how they work." Nor did he have any idea he could get stuck with a female one on missions.
"I've not met Julie yet though. I've heard /stories/."

Cass laughed. "Well, if Julie gets another hair about throwing another wild party like she did for Christmas, there will be some floating around. But I can do the posters and s**t. I had a snowglobe from New York to keep me company for my first stretch. That was it, so anything I can do the lessen the agony of the boring rooms I'll happily help with." There were obviously limits to what she could do, but she was accommodating, at least.
When Rep touched the scar on his nose, Cass instinctively pressed on her own nose. "Man, that sounds like it would be one hell of an adventure to share if you remembered it, though! Definitely sounds like you had some exciting times between that and people's cars being Fridged." She'd clearly been paying attention to his story back in the cave of death too. "I think Leon just misses having someone to have a good brawl with. He used to be a Boxer, y'know? So I bet he'd just like to have a good fisticuffs with you 'cause you've got good muscles and would probably give him a run for his money." She punched the air playfully as she explained this. "I mean, that's just my guess, anyways. He's always training or going out running, but I don't think he's had anybody to test his weight against in a while."
Yet, hearing nobody had briefed the lambs on what had happened before their wake up, Cass actually seemed to seethe. "Yeah, guess they don't do that either. When the Hatchlings - that's the people who woke up in the batch after the Strays who are those of us who woke up a year ago - first woke up, they threw them onto us Strays and said 'have fun' and threw us out into the field. In fact, it's kind of our job as Strays to teach you guys, so......" She tapped her chin to think of the best way to summarize everything she knew.
"I'm going to skip the weapon stuff, you seem to have that under control... Golems...I can't really tell you how they work in terms of the pods and stuff, but from what I remember they're made out of FEAR and Earth - kinda like the Monsters are. A lot of us were actually in those Golems before we woke up in a Battle-Royale kill each other free-for-all test.
Butttt.... About half a year ago the Strays, the only group awake at the time, were called on to go and enter the Haunted House - this is the same location that we're asked to patrol every now and then - in order to try and obtain and artifact that had been located inside. At the same time several groups of them were also sent inside for some reason." She seemed to be organizing her thoughts of what the last year had been as well as she could.
"During that, we moved to capture this group - students of some monster-school from what I could glean - when the Fake!Aria revealed herself as a character named 'Red'. Red, along with Aria's weapon - which is apparently part of a twin set? - fused together into a creature that is part FEAR and part INSANITY. FEAR is what the monsters are made of, INSANITY is some sort of breakdown of FEAR that can effect it or something? H explained something like that as to how the Test-Golems exploded when exposed to the air on the island when I asked, anyways. A huge blow-up followed where the creature rampaged indiscriminately and ultimately Caelius killed it.
It was so cool I have a piece of it in my room." A grin formed on her face for a moment before she tried to regain her cool and coughed a bit.
"After the Hatchlings woke up - which was after this incident with the Haunted House - there was some recon in the Sahara Desert which involved a giant creature of some sort and a lot of death. I'm not sure what was being looked for there, however. Caelius sent us away from that without much information."
"Then we had another mission where we brought back the four Heirs to the Horsemen of the Apocalypse to the base. I got to meet Death - she's a very ...bitchy...individual. She didn't want to play nice at all. But there was apparently some sort of scan of their FEAR going on before they were released back to Halloween.
After that, we returned to the Haunted House where we met one of the BIG Horsemen - like the real deal. He proceeded to use his power - which I am assuming is pressure related or something and nearly killed us all until Caelius stepped in. Cracked my ribs, broke my hands and feet. I was partially deaf and blind for a couple of weeks. Marcus carried me out of there. It...." she rubbed her ribs again and frowned. "It was pretty bad."
But to answer the real question there; "The Horsemen are..I'm not exactly sure, really. I've been hearing they're Halloween radicals? Like they have some extremist views in comparison to the normal Halloween-critters or something like that. All I know is they're ********' strong and in the Bible for a reason."

Rep laughed. "I had a ******** of adventures before I came here. Me and my mates used to do all sorts of s**t, it was great. Only got caught a few times too, we were slippery bastards." he grinned a little broader as she mentioned the fridging story, surprised anyone had even thought it worth listening to. "Hahaha yeah. My family was just as mental." At least he understood what she meant about Leon, it did actually make the man a little more understandable, he'd be going absolutely stir crazy if he was cooped up on the island with all that training and nothing to hit. "He'd probably ******** me up pretty badly, I was never a pro fighter, just a sort of casual one. Usually with a knife. Doesn't mean I don't think that'd be fun regardless, a fight's a fight. " And pain had never bothered the redhead, if anything he enjoyed it in a twisted sort of way, it was a sign you'd done something right, you'd got someone passionate enough to try and really harm you. "Maybe that's why, would be frustrating having nothing but guys like Jerry and s**t to go up against."
However he was /very/ grateful for Cass's summary of events. He'd really had no idea what preceded their arrival, and was frankly staggered at the scope of things he'd missed and the sort of things he could potentially have to deal with in future. Between halloween monsters creeping amongst humans pretending to be in positions of power, to the duelling powers of FEAR and INSANITY. He tried to make as many mental notes as he could, who knew when this sort of thing could save his a** later? He didn't interrupt her train of thought, simply let her recount as fluidly as she could, giving her a smirk as she mentioned the souvenir of the rampaging creature. Okay he had to admit he was a bit jealous of that, he wanted awesome trophies to show off to people at a later date.
His smile utterly dropped however at the discussion of the horsemen, particularly Conquest. The mental image of a monster that could crack peoples bones chilled him to the core. "Shiiiit." was all he could even say in response to that particular recollection. "They sound.. ******** crazy. I hope I never have the misfortune to run into those bastards, cause you guys sound like you were lucky to walk away from that." He eyed his hands, flexing his fingers just trying to imagine how broken hands might feel. "Augh, god. I can't even /imagine/ how s**t that must have been. Are we expected to /kill/ those guys? Because ******** hell, if just one of them could do that, it sounds impossible."

She tried to give her explanation as slowly as possible, less it just came out as a slew of andthentheotherthinghappenedandthisotherhinghappenedoverhereandthenthisotherthinghappenedbeforethat and just turned into a giant mess of words. That would have been a waste of breath to try and play catchup with. "If ever possible, go see if you can get a look at the filed away Mission Reports from everybody. Those'd help you catch up on things from some other perspectives too." She'd never actually looked at those reports, though. Hmmm, maybe it was something worth looking into at some other time.
"Yeah. The run in with him was what..solidified for a lot of us that we weren't strong enough yet. Caelius let us all know we are disposable unless we can save ourselves. For a while after that run in he was gone too, battling with Conquest, I guess. I actually thought he was dead for a short while." Still, she could tell that he was thinking over what she'd just...spewed out onto him. It had been quite a bit of word vomit, after all.
"It was pretty damn awful. That's around when I moved into Marcus's room, because I stopped being able to sleep through the night because of nightmares of how close to death we all got. I'd wake up in the middle of the night crying and in a panic." she laughed weakly - a defensive response. "I'd like to hope that's because it was justified fear and not because I'm a girl though." Scratching the back of her head, she answered his other question;
"I'm not sure if we're supposed to kill them. It sounds like that would be ideal, however. But the possibility of it is pretty difficult too. If you've seen all the damaged stuff around the island - the steps to the lighthouse, the abandoned city... that sort of stuff? They say the Horsemen's heirs did that. The four heirs were here and couldn't be captured until they came back for examination. Even then they were treated like kings compared to the other stuff we've brought back.
I can't imagine what would have happened if they started rampaging whiel inside."

Rep nodded, he intended when he was killing some time to go check up on the previous mission info, he figured knowing what was going on in a more exact way would be handy given the sort of s**t they could end up against
At the very least he gave her a solemn nod to her as she recounted her nightmares, if there was one thing he wouldn't condemn anyone on the island for having, it was nightmares. He'd had more than his fair share himself and as far as he was concerned, they had nothing to do with manliness and everything to do with humanity. "Sounds pretty ******** justified to me, no question. " He didn't have anywhere to go when he had nightmares however, not that he could even if he did know anyone well enough. Sometimes pride was a b***h.
He blinked at her in shock at the mention of the destruction he'd noted all across the island. That was just their /kids/. "Fuuck. Yeah, if that was just their /kids/ and they ******** s**t up so bad, I don't think I want to tangle with the parents. " It all sounded so impossible. How were they meant to kill something like that, how were they even meant to /fight/ something like that?

"Yeah, no kidding. When we met with the big-Conquest, his son was there and you know what he said before he nearly crushed us all to death? He frowned and was all 'SON, I AM DISAPPOINT'." She made sure to do a very....stereotyped pull of her eyelids to emphasize that she was being an asian-father as she said this with her best frown on ever.
"So, I think a lot of us have a long way before we're tangoing with those guys. I mean, the guy who nearly killed us all was given a run for his money by Caelius, so I guess I know where the benchmark is...." part of her wondered if H was anywhere near that badass too, actually. Maybe if she asked really nice he'd tell her. Fortunately, Cass didn't go off into a fanfarish la-la land.
"Sadly, I'm pretty sure all of our External Missions as of late have been relating back to them. A lot of the ones I've been on have had the same hoop marking in 'em..." she paused, tracing it out in the air with a finger. "Kinda like that one we saw down in that lair we went into......." she trailed off sadly, probably giving a moment of lament for Sandy and Barney, slumping further in her seat.

He wasn't expecting her utterly fantastic imitation of the elder conquest and couldn't help but laugh out loud. "Hahah. Yeah, sounds like the guy's serious ******** business." It was bad times when the little monsters were kicking their island around yet still disappointing to the big ones. They were totally screwed. He couldn't get too down about it though, not with Cass's tone, she kept him upbeat without trying which really helped.
"And yeah, at least all else fails, we can send prissyguy in first while we run for it." he joked, smirking.
At her mention of the symbol though he pointed at the air where she'd drawn. "Yeah! That! It was at the theme park too, before you guys got there. Someone'd scratched it into a sign and Jordan had a photo of it from a house mission too. ******** are laying claim to our s**t!" he slammed the table with a fist. "Back home we used to tag s**t like shutters and whatever to show our team was in charge of that area, and if the bastards tried to tag over it, it'd be an outright ******** war. Those horseman ******** are claiming up our turf. And I bet they know we aren't going to shank them for it too."

"Maybe if we say the horsemen have nice hair products that could be a lure." Cass jested in turn. Oh man, Rep had never gotten to see... "Caelius has been extra bitchy since the 'Red' thing ruined his long beautiful hair." She explained before she broke out into giggles. Oh, he'd been so angry over his hair. Epic pouts, even.
She listened intently as he explained how 'tagging' worked, having never really had an intimate idea of how that sort of thing ever worked. It made enough sense. "So part tagging, part calling card it sounds, given that we've had corpses with the mark left on them too." she frowned. "Well, I think they know rather that right now we're not capable enough to shank them for it." she scratched the back of her head.
If you trained more and talked to boys less, you would be much more capable at this time, Cassandra.
<>
"Man, I want one of those Horsemen heirs to show up in the Haunted House so I can try my merit against it..." she growled a bit and then scratched the side of her head. "I mean, wouldn't it just be awesome to grab a friend and go to town on 'em as long as you could? Best stress relief ever."
She was totally grinning.

Rep gave her an incredulous look. "His /hair/. Hahahah. He ******** definitely looked the type to be picky over his hair, I didn't even know he was a guy at first. And here I used to get stick for just having long hair. Around here its positively ********." And yet, for all that he couldn't get hold of any hair dye. "Exclusively though. " he cleared his throat. "I'm usually ******** blonde."
"And ouch corpses? Okay that's a little more of a ******** throwdown than just tags. Seems they are leaving all the signals to come get them if we dare."
He gave her a carefully unreadable look. Okay so a girl wanted to meet an heir in the haunted house. Of course a man could do it better. He wasn't scared. Nope. "Eh. Yeah. That'd be pretty awesome I bet, have the b*****d running scared home to daddy, give them something to think about. A good old fashioned hiding courtesy of the Deus young team."
He snickered.

Cass nodded. "Yep. His hair." she confirmed. "Blond? I can't see you as blond. I think you pull off the red much better. I biasedly think the darker colors are a bit more manly though. Guess it depends on the shade of it." she paused as she brushed her fingers through her own hair which wasn't exactly light and girly itself. Then again, her hair also looked like she cut it herself in a bathroom somewhere out of spite, just to have someone else clean up the ends of it.
"But if you're needing any dye, I can make a note to grab you some of that while I'm out too. I'm pretty loaded for how little I tend to spend and can afford to grab some pick-me-ups for people." She probably had about 4 grand from Christmas which had just compiled and compiled up over the months.....damn. She was rich if she took a minute to think about it.
Well, rich from the perspective of a 17 year old girl, anyways.
"Ha ha. Should definitely try to find one of 'em. I think that only Conquest was a boy, though. Death was a girl and from what I've heard, so were Famine and War." which was somewhat puzzling to her, actually. They were Horsemen, yet there was so much....estrogen..in the pool of heirs. "Ha ha! It'd be fun, no matter which one it was. I mean, worst case scenario I come back and have more information to report on stuff." she mused, scratching the underside of her nose.
"I bet they couldn't even touch Excalibur, though. Too bad nobody can touch that, though."

He shook his head "Its not so much about how it looks as how much I hate it. There's a whole ******** lot of hate towards this stupid hair and I hate even having to look at it in the mirror in the morning. Dyeing it to death makes me feel better. And it has to be blonde. Any other colour and it looks ridiculous, something to do with the pigments in it. If I tried to dye it any other colour I'd look like I was wearing a wig."
He gave her a very eager nod "Any shade of blonde seriously and I'd be in your debt for ******** ever. I'm leery about going to the life labs to get some because well... they are the life labs."
He blinked however at the revelation that a lot of the heirs were female. "But... horseMEN." He almost looked upset at this turn of events before once again narrowing his eyes. "Oh yeah I'd seriously like to break some horsebitch face." Because hitting women wasn't dishonourable, it was easier.

"You'd end up with neon green hair if you asked the Life Labs." Cass said simply. She knew how it was - that's just how it all rolled, really. "But yeah, I'll find something that looks decent for ya. Some dirtyish color, I think. Anything too blond-blond would look.....off, on you I think." she was probably imagining that platinum blond color and getting strange mental images of him with Super-saiyan hair.
"I don't know either at why they're female, when they're horsemen...." she scratched her nose thoughtfully. "So yeah, I guess that' be their luck, to have daughters for heirs or something. That whole 'I'll make a man out of you' thing from Mulan." Yes, she had the entire sequence playing through her head right then.
"Maybe you'll get a chance at it, though. Sounds like with the missions they've been sending us on that something is up with the Horsemen so we'll be meeting 'em again soon."

He'd really figured that would be the case but had hoped it wouldn't be. "Yeah, those guys really don't seem to be the trustworthy sort at all. Thanks." He didn't thank people often, but if she managed to procure him some hair dye it'd be worth it.
"Hah. I bet they were ******** gutted. Horsemen having daughters. Man, that'd be shitty. Wonder if that means eventually the ******** apocalypse might be led by women. If that happens I'd have to say I called it in advance. Women were always a disaster waiting to happen right from the start."
He looked a little more smug as a result though. Women were easier, maybe these ones would be too.
"Yeah, here's hoping. Would be nice to show them even monster women can't beat a real man."

Errrrr.....
"I...like to think I'm not a disaster waiting to happen." Cass said awkwardly, playing with her hair. "But I dunno how it all works with 'em. Maybe they'll all have sons and the world will go back to an even keel. Then again, the world is supposed to end this year, so..."
She made a small face.
"I dunno how that's all going to turn out if the Horsemen are involved with it." she sighed. "It's possible that later this year we're going to be thrown to the wolves or something to try and prevent an apocalypse of our own." But she didn't know if that was a valid thing or a random rumor that had been fabricated to throw people for a loop.
But would monsters make up something like that?
"I'm sure you'll get a chance for some good fighting though. They put up a pretty decent fight, but I haven't lost to any of them yet."

Rep gave Cass a vague sort of look as if he'd just remembered that she was actually a female in the wake of his little tirade. "Well, I mean, maybe human women are /less/ of a disaster waiting to happen." He conceded this much, he hated women in general marginally less than he hated monsters masquerading as females.
And then the idea of the apocalypse came up once again. "Yeah I've..heard rumours about that a few times now. There's a presi.. erh...precident? Like, it's happened before apparently." he gave her a conspirational look. "I just ******** hope it doesn't come to that."
He relaxed a little at the fact Cass hadn't lost to the heirs yet, it put them a little more into perspective, he had been /very/ anxious that they'd be incredibly powerful and that he wouldn't stand a chance.
