Ice Road Runner

Xiu looked especially wary now, trying to keep an eye out for flags and for this mysterious snowball thrower at the same time.

Ice Road Runner

Xiu had the distinct feeling that she was going to die here when the wind suddenly sent her flying back, slamming her right into a sharp piece of ice. Trying not to cry at the sudden pain that tore up her shoulder, Xiu leaned against the wall, eyes clenched shut and teeth grit.

This trial hurt a lot more than she thought it would.

Ice Road Runner

Perhaps it would have been better if she had kept moving. Whatever the case, the next gust of wind that blew through did it. With Xiu already being off-balanced, the wind easily threw her back, and straight into a large, pointy piece of ice.

Even as she dissipated, Xiu couldn't help but grimace. Dying was never fun, and it was most definitely never painless.

Mot was thankful that his hat was on a cord. Thank you, Hel, for making it with a cord. Had it not had one, it may have been blown away.

Mot was no happy camper. The wind and rain dragged his spirits down. His clothes were wet, and his Lepus guide was kind of getting on his nerves. It rambled on inside it's little bag, as Mot trekked toward the Tall Grass.

"Did you know that Minipets are in the Long Grass? It's true!"

Long Grass Field

Quote:
Turn 1:
You are entering the long grass, and quickly realizing there is no visibility. All around you are long stalks, above and below are crowded out by green. Roll 1d100 to begin.

1 - 20 - The long grass sways behind you, effectively sealing you off from the outside world. The noises of strange creatures fill your ears, buzzing and humming and sinister howls in the distance... Suddenly there is a loud scream behind you, and something knocks to to the ground. You lost 10 HP, and your next roll is 7d12.

Mot approached his trial with determination. Determination to get this done, and be rid of his annoying little partner.

"Did you know toe lint can cure the common cold? It's true."

"I highly doubt that.." He mumbled with a sigh. Mot shook his head and walked into the long grass. His view was quickly overtaken by the grass, with little to no way to tell where he was going.

The noises of whatever was inside this place with him kept the cowboil on edge. He turned his head toward every chirp and cackle, his pace quickening. Was something out there besides him? According to the Lepus it was either minipets or mutated toe lint.

Just then, he was startled by a scream, and felt himself get shoved to the ground. It was a lot more painful than most trips to the ground. He must have fallen weird on something. Still, what was that?

"Did you know you can't lick your elbow? It's true."

"..."

Not only was this bunny getting annoying, something kept attacking him from the sky. Like an annoying bat or something. Did it hate his cologne or something?

Long Grass Field

Quote:
Turn 2
The deeper you go, the taller the grasses seem to get until they block out the sky completely. It's dark, hard to see. Even your ears are leading you astray, it is impossible to tell if the rustling nearby is you or... something else.

21 - 40 - Whatever it was howling through the grass is getting closer, far outpacing your slow, encumbered process. Suddenly a dark shape leaps at you from above, administering sharp scratches with it's black claws. But it appears distracted, and you pick up your pace and somehow shake it off. You lose 5 HP, and your next roll is 1d100. You obtain one flag.

Was it nighttime? How long had he been in there? The grass blocked out the sky, making his task more difficult. He tried to focus on sound, but that got him nowhere, except swishing sounds and the constant rambling of his Lepus Guide.

Soon, the thing that had been stalking him leapt from the darkness. Mot yelped, not able to get away quick enough. He felt it's claws scratch into him. That sudden pain gave Mot the boost of adrenaline he needed to run. He managed to lose the creature, and ended up finding something along the way; A flag.

"Welp.. one down.." And then the bat again.

"LEAVE ME ALOOOONE!!!" He whined, swatting at the flying reaper hating object.

Long Grass Field

Quote:
Turn 3:
You are deep in the field, and starting to get very disoriented. Are you heading in the right direction? Had you seen that particular knot of roots before? Skirted that muddy trap? The only thing you can do is press onward.

81 - 100 - Urged onwards by the hissing sounds around you, you barrel through the dark stalks, until you are out of breath. But you put some serious distance between yourself and the rustling in the grass. For now things are quiet. Hopefully they stay that way. Your next roll is 9d10. You obtain one flag.

Things were becoming disorienting. Everything looked the same, how could he possibly find a way out? Would he be doomed to roam this place for eternity, filled with useless Lepus knowledge? Mot pressed onwards anyway, quickening his pace until the sounds of hissing were muted. Things seemed to get a bit calmer now, and Mot was at ease for the time being.

Another flag was picked up along the way. And that damn bat.

"GO AWAY!!!!" Did it hate leather?

The end is almost in sight! The sky overhead is peeking through the tall grass, and the ground feels dryer underfoot. You can see farther ahead, but the edge of the field is still out of sight. Suddenly something catches your eye before disappearing back into the darkness. Something BIG.

21 - 40 - As you flee, something tugs at your ankle, and you hear a hissing sound. A very loud hissing sound. Even though you slip from it's grasp, the monstrous snake behind you lunges fast as lightning. You take 20 damage.

Mot almost had hope return to him. The end was in sight, and he didn't even mind the Lepus Guide's ramblings anymore. Soon! Soon he would be ou--DAMN BAT!!! The time Mot took to try and swat the Reaper hating flying thing, something caught up with him. Mot yelped as he caught sight of a giant snake, and began to run for his life.

However, he was no match for the serpant's speed. It took no time at all for the creature to take down the thin framed Reaper.

Jungle Course

The longer Titus kept walking the more he was beginning to wonder if this Jungle was ever going to end. He was also wondering if his Lepus guide was ever going to shut its mouth.

"Did you know stressed is desserts backward?" OuO The little Lepus peeked over his shoulder leaning closer than Titus really cared for. Already the demon had tried to ditch the backpack but some smartass had decided to enchant the thing. He managed to walk a few feet before the damn thing was back on his shoulders and his Lepus guide was staring at the back of his head like he had never left.

"Did you know that the plastic things on the end of shoelaces are called aglets?"

Titus' brain was going to melt from all this useless trivia. "Hey why don't you do something useful and give me a direction to head?" He grumbled.

"Did you know that it won't matter soon. There is a dead end up ahead. It's true!" OuO

And the Lepus nearly told Titus too late. The demon had just about pushed through a thick wall of shrubbery to nearly fall into the ravine. Staggering Titus managed to fall back to safer ground wondering where he was supposed to go from here.

"Did you know that you really aren't doing a good job?" The Lepus was being helpful he was.

"I am going to take such pleasure in gutting you when this is over," Titus started to look around for a way around the ravine but it looked like it stretched on for a while. One thing that caught his eye though were the vines. This could be legit. It always worked in the movies.

Pulling some of the vines free, Titus tried to judge where he might land if he swung down. He would try to aim for a place that wouldn't have him climbing a lot.

"Did you know that this is probably a bad idea?"

Titus made a mockery of the little Lepus' advice, repeating it in an annoying tone. "Would you shut up, I know what I'm doing."

"Did you know....I don't think you do."

"Pssh, just watch furball. We'll be across this hole in no time - AAHHHHHHHHHHHH" The high pitched effeminate squeal escaped Titus as he leaped from the ledge the vine by no means holding his weight as it gave way sending him plummeting to his doom.

The demon's little Lepus guide could be heard, it's voice fading as the fell. "Did you know that this plan wasn't thought through very well?"

Riyo very heartily hoped they'd be able to make up for their failures on the last trial by doing swimmingly at this one. The reality of their situation had finally sunk into her thick skull. They could lose this if everyone didn't try their best. The feline knew she didn't have to worry about Hel, Xiu, or Mot... Even if Mot had looked pretty out of it these days, but Titus...

How do you inspire an idiot like that to work well? The whole "do it for yourself" thing had worked once, but she knew far too well if worst came to worst not even something like that could pay off.

She could wager something, but what? And sadly, that would mean that no matter what happened she lost.

SIGH.

Riyo had tossed up the hood of her more simplistic cat jacket, not that it did much of anything for her. The striped attire looked nice... But it certainly wasn't water-proof.

She assumed, however, that the backpack with the lepus she was given... Was.

"Hey, did you know that cats have barbed-"

"YES." Riyo interrupted before the damn thing could finish it's sentence. "Yes, I know." Oh for the love of Jack...

THE WATER LAKE

A lake...

Riyo had to dive... Into a lake.

WELL IT'S A GOOD THING SHE WAS ALREADY WET!

Grumbling, she moved the backpack slightly and tossed her jacket off, figuring she wouldn't need the extra weight. "Did you know that all cats hate water?" The guide in her backpack piped up.

"No. I had no idea." The ghoul mumbled. Obviously that wasn't the case, but far be it for her to care about anything other than this mission right now. For a moment, the demon took in a deep breath and stretched before running towards the docks and taking a leap. She braced herself for the freezing water, eyes closing and lungs filling with air... Before she realized seconds later that no impact came.

"Wuh" Vines. She was tangled in vines.

"s**t!"

"Did you know that lepuses are really good at chewing through rope-like things?" Called the creature before chomping down on the items that held her in place. "... No, I did-AAAAAAUGH!"

*splash*

THE WATER LAKE

Alright. Riyo was underwater. She could feel her ears slowly start to fill with liquid, and while unpleasant, she was determined to... Weave baskets?

Seriously? Did the horsemen really weave baskets underwater? First sandcastles, now Jack damn baskets.

Ugh...

Doggy paddling under, the ghoul grabbed what she needed to create her 'masterpiece' and shoved all the parts together.. Which apparently earned her no favors with the basket weaving gods, as she soon watched the horrific creation fall apart and float to the surface.

"SH- auougourrueoru" Oops, tried to speak underwater. Well there went that...

FAILED.

THE CAVE OF DARKNESS

Darkness was not something that ever bothered Hel, so when she was to run this course, there wasn’t an ounce of worry. If anything, she found these to be more exciting then the whole sand castle fiasco…even if she was tagging a smart alec along at the moment.

“Did you know you can’t see a thing?”

Hel lifted a brow and stared at her book bag buddy as the entrance as closed behind her, casting her and the Lepus into darkness. Oh well. It was like Freya. Since it chattered too much, she’d just ignore it. The ghoul started forward into the pitch black, her hands out in front of her a bit to make sure she wouldn’t run into anything. Hey, the awesome part about this trial? The rain or wind wasn’t bothering her! A few times here and there she stumbled, but soon enough she got her first flag and grinned.

THE CAVE OF DARKNESS

Hmm…the walls were starting to close in…

“Did you know that the walls are starting to close in?”

Hel let out an annoyed breath. Luckily she wasn’t claustrophobic…but at the same time…being in a small area didn’t sit well with her either. She couldn’t exactly summon her spear in a small area. Soon enough she found herself coming to a fork…hmm. You know, first instinct was to go left…but…but what if this was that one time…that going left was the wrong way. She wished Mitsu was here right now.

Right Hel went.
