THE WATER LAKE
Herryk did love to swim. The fact that he didn't have to breathe meant that he could stay beneath the surface for hours if he wanted to. Some of his best thinking was usually done underwater, and the colder the water the better.
Like some sort of big, brawning merman, Herryk obtained one flag.

With his supplies in hand, Herryk made it down to the very bottom of the lake. He proceeded to make one shambly looking basket.
"These big hands make crafting so hard," he complained to his lepus guide.

It was probably the scent of rotting bacon that drew the fish to Herryk. They attacked with glorious speed, nipping, biting and all around flinging themselves at him. Herryk's only recourse was to run for the shoreline lest he be eaten alive.

Ice Road Runner
Zar was having one of the worst days he'd had in a very very long time. It was wet, it was windy, and those were the two things he hated most in the whole world. His wings were soaked and heavy, throwing him off balance more than usual, and he'd just been told the course he'd be running today would be one that was all about ice. Fantastic.
As he entered the cave, the wind was harsh and cutting, making him shiver, finding it hard to even get the most meagre footing with his hooves, scrabbling just to take a step forward, carrying onwards only by virtue of determination that anything the horsemen could do he could do too.
He was all about his determined stride, all about serious effort and somehow managed to get a flag almost straight away. Great start!

Somehow he managed to fight back against the harsh winds with a combination of folding his wings as tightly as he possibly could to prevent the drag they inflicted and flat out running on the ice, regardless of how much his hooves slipped while doing so.
At least he was making progress

Scrabbling wildly made for very slow progress, Zar able to feel his wings slowly freeze up, making them even more heavy to carry, but at least weighing him down enough that he could make /some/ progress. He reached a wall and paused for a breather, strongly doubting he'd ever get to the end.

He was still pretty fragile for a demon and the ice that was being whipped at him by the winds was a lot sharper than he expected, making him wince as it hit his skin, leaving little cuts and gouges as it did so. He was going to feel this one later he felt.

And then another flag! It was an absolute relief and gave him the motivation to go on, tucking it neatly in his pack before once again trying to run against the wind, getting very exhausted but determined not to let his team down.

And then he slipped. Not only slipped but almost slid all the way back to the start of the course, digging his razor sharp claws in just in the nick of time, making huge gouges in the ice as by some miracle he managed to bring himself to a halt, grateful that despite being a paperwork demon, he was far from as light as paper, horns and hooves behind somewhat heavier than they looked.
He got up, and persevered

And suddenly there was ANOTHER chunk of ice. This one he only missed by an absolute bare minimum margin. He tried to recover his balance but that wasn't to be either as he slipped, skidded and once again fell over right onto the ice shard.

Ice Road Runner And just when he'd started to get a little cocky, making progress, hooves cutting thin gouges into the ice, that was when another stalactite snapped off and flew his way. He just managed to leap out of the way to avoid it.
And right onto a spike of ice.
The last thing he heard before he passed out was.
"Did you know that ice was sharp?"
Well he did now.

Welcome to the Jungle
A bit further down the trail was an overly dramatic gorge. Its mouth yawned in a way that JD found outright offensive.This was probably because the flag was on the other side, and the only way across was some sort of fallen log.
He had to cross a fallen log, across a ravine, while it was raining and windy.
Whatever. He stepped up onto it carefully, both boots planted over the yawning chasm. "Did you know-" JD flung the bag as far from him as possible. However, doing so upset his balance. He pinwheeled pathetically for a moment.
And then he fell.
As he faded comically into a tiny spec in the distance, he fleetingly wondered how bad a** his wind-whipped hair looked. Helpfully, his bag reappeared, hitting him in his stomach and knocking the air out of him as he continued to descend at an alarmingly rapid rate.
"Did you know, I believe I can fly?"
These were the last words JD heard before hitting the bottom with a pathetic splat.

Water Lake was already taken today. Nuru chooses cave, OK?
Staring in the gaping maw of the cave Nuru was starting to have second thoughts about this. He took one last hesitant look back before going on inside.
What the Jack was that sound?!
Oh nothing, just the entrance BEING SEALED SHUT FROM THE OUTSIDE.
At least he gave off enough light to not trip over that bit of rock that was right in front of him.

THE CAVE OF DARKNESS
1, 2, 3: Pass.
You make your way forward. The ground is a little uneven and every so often you might stumble over a rock in your path, but all in all, this is the easy part. You obtain one flag.
Despite Nuru's careful stepping he suddenly stumbled over a rock and just barely caught himself. Hand grasping wall as he tried to catch his breath and keep himself from shouting, "Jack!" at the top of his lungs at his stubbed toe.
It was here he lingered just long enough for something to call out to him in the darkness, "Did you know..."
He slammed his back not so accidentally into the wall silencing the creature mid-sentence. At least this led to the discovery of a flag nearby that he promptly grabbed and stuffed in his pocket.
