Ice Road Runner
What ever wind was blowing down the length of the tunnel it was even worse in the side one. Not even two steps in a blast of cold air sent Sammy sliding backwards where she stood. It wasn't terrible though and it gave her a moment to latch onto a chunk of ice.
Black bone fingers twisted and tugged at the ice digging a grip as the wind howled and shoved against her. Doing all she could do she clinged onto the chunk of ice waiting for the wind to pass.
"Did you know that some of the side tunnels funnel the wind more intently then the main path?" Vitter of course chimed in while still tucked inside his bag.
"Yeah I can see that now you little jerk, you couldn't have told me that a moment ago?" She grunted as she pressed closer to the ice till the wind died down.
"Did you know that I told you it was likely a trap earlier?"
"Point taken smart a**."

Ice Road Runner
Though it was a rough start Sammy finally made her way back to the main path. The wind continued to howl but true to Vitter's word it wasn't nearly as harsh as it had been earlier allowing the ghoul to move carefully forward.
"So Vitter, how much do you know about these trials? You guys are here to help us if we get in serious trouble and what not, but else can you tell me?" It wasn't Siddie, or Shehk, let alone another normal person, but Vitter could hold up a decent conversation considering his odd speech patterns.
"Did you know we where contracted by the Horsemen for the trial to act only as guides and saftey lines." He paused puffing on his pipe, "Did you know we where told only the basic information required for these activities?"
Well, that was a rather lame response she mused as her fingers dug into another chunk of ice to pull herself up a ledge. Just over the crest she spotted the flag, quickly passing it back to Vitter as she took a moment to rest and scan the road for more flags and safe spots.
"Not the best response Vitter, but you pass the time nicely."
Vitter seemed to grin, it was a rather derpy grin as he puffed his pipe again, "Did you know most people abandoned their lepus after three weeks of conversation?"
"They just can't stand your rugged charm you all share." She stated some what flatly before moving towards the next area to shelter from the wind.

Ice Road Runner
Luck was on her side, from where she had lifted herself she spotted another flag tied to a wooden post shoved into the ice, likely placed by the course construction crew. The only catch was it was clear across the path where she was now, right in the open of the howling wind.
"Alright Vitter, hold on tight." She didn't wait for the quiz like response from the Lepus Guide. Instead she moved head on sprinting to the edge of the ice ledge they rested on, no guts, no risk, no glory was the saying after all right?
Hitting the ice she started to slide down towards the exit, when she finally started sliding backwards more then forwards she stood up stomping her steel toed boots into the ice to gain traction as she sprinted and half skated towards the pole. A faint echo filled the cave up ahead though as she moved.
"Did you know that the sound you hear is the wind ready to pass through?"
"s**t!" She dropped into a crouch leaping to clear the last few inches grabbing the pole and the flag just as another blast of wind shot through the cave sending shards of ice kicked up moments ago spinning down the path.
"Good timing Vitter...."
"Did you know a Lepus Guide never miss times a good fact?"

Ice Road Runner
The wait for the wind to pass seemed to grow longer as she moved up the road. Here at the pole she had collected a 2nd flag from she could barely make out the next ledge to aim for. "Damn it's getting harder to find a path..." She moved towards the edge of the ice shards around her looking up along the path. For now the wind was silent, only one thing left to do.
"Hold on Vitter."
"Did you know ASJKDHFSJKDHFK!" The poor Lepus was cut short jarred about in his bag as Sammy jumped again into the main path, boots crunching and cracking ice as she sprinted up the path. Every time she started to slip her FEAR would flare and she would punch a hand hold into the ice with her left fist. She made quick progress up the path, passing a few ledges, though none seemed to hold a flag till something caught the attention of her purple glowing eyes.
"There!" Quickly she shifted spinning on the ice dropping down into a crouch, extending her one leg to slow her decent as she let herself slide back down the course to a ledge she almost missed, tucked away beneath a side cave like the one she tried to use earlier.
On the ledge was another flag staked into the side of the ice.
"That's three for me... wonder how the others are doing."

Ice Road Runner
Another moment of rest couldn't do any harm right?
Wrong.
Just like the side cave before, Sammy couldn't help but peek inside. No snowball had come out this one but better safe then sorry. Or in this case, she would be sorry for worrying. Just as she peeked over the ledge something howled inside the tunnel, something was bouncing closer, and closer, and OH JACK SNOWBALLS!
She didn't have time to duck as the wind launched a single orb smack into her face dropping her to the ground like a bag of bricks.
"JACK DAMMIT WHO IS DOING THAT," her shout was muffled as she squeezed her nose, it wasn't broken, and even though she was dead it still hurt to take a near solid chunk of ice to the face at high speeds even if it was in a small ball form.
"Did you know, objects tossed into the road from the other end are carried by the wind down to these side passages?" Vitter added from his sack on the ground beside Sammy. He was lucky Sammy was kind enough to put him down for a break while peeking into the cave else he would have been crushed between her and the ice.
"Makes sense... still wana know who threw em in though..."

Ice Road Runner
"Alright, enough sitting around, the winds quiet again."
Vitter only nodded taking one last puff of his pipe before hopping into his bag as Sammy slung him over her shoulder. Ahead she could make out a few potential spots to check out but each one would require another crossing of the main path. If the wind started again it would surely end bad. Glancing around she had to wonder if another student was somewhere in the Road? Would they pass each other?
She could dwell on it later though. She started across the path again taking her time for once rather then sprinting like mad. It seemed she had hit a dead spot in the tunnel, or a lul in the winds outside. Luck as it may be, she reached the next ledge with no problems a final flag nailed into the wall.
"Well that was easy." She ripped the flag free spike included. Turning around to see how far she had come. It seemed about halfway judging from where she could barely make out the second stop where she found the pole with a flag.
"At this rate it might be easier to go out how we came in." She turned around striking the ice with the spike cracking a large chunk out, quietly she went to work whittling it down with the spike before shoving it back into the wall. Someone would likely complain if she started taking the spikes that held the flags later.
"Did you know not all the courses will be this simple?" Vitter had climbed out his bag again and was pacing around the chunk of ice puffing away at his tiny pipe once more.
"Doesn't matter, we got four flags, we get out, and we get out in style my little guide. Get in your bag and take this with you." She passed the last flag over as Vitter climbed into his bag, with everything packed and the spike lodged in place Sammy aimed her impromptu sled toward the edge of the safe spot.
"Oh man this is going to be wicked." She gave a push with her hands off the edge sending the shard of ice down the slope. Each ledge a small jump that cracked the sleigh and sent shivers up and down her spine. She laughed all the while leaning left and right avoiding shards of ice growing out the ground.
"BITE ME TRIALS I OWN THESE GAMES!" She shouted with glee as she came blasting out the cave entrance and into the snow, her sleight whittled down to nothing it shattered as they landed leaving Ghoul and Lepus in the snow.
"Did you know... I have... a fear... of h-h-high sp-speed c-chases?" chittered Vitter, his wood pipe cackling between his teeth as he tried to speak.
"Oh shut up, you'll love them once you're done with me."

The rain had held up, but it meant little to the undead ghoul as she marched into their tent, the ice melted from her hair and flesh by the slightly warmer rain. She dumped Vitter out of his bag grabbing the flags from inside before stuffing them into a group lock box in the back of the tent.
"Day one done, four flags. S'good start right?" She slumped over in a chair relaxing as she watched Vitter pace about the HQ.
"Did you know, what time would the others come back?"
"Not a clue short stuff, just smoke that pipe and let me bask in the sweet taste of victory so far okay?"

The rocks hurt her hands. Siddie gritted her teeth and climbed on upwards, whimpering under her breath as she felt two fingernails break against the harsh stone.
"Did you know that gloves or chalk are excellent aids for climbing?" the lepus guide piped up from her backpack.
"Couldn't you have told me that before I started?"
"Did you know that I couldn't see what course you were going to until we were here?"

Rock Climbing
A crack of stone on stone alerted Siddie to danger. She glanced up, barely managed not to scream at the sight of a shower of large rocks falling towards her, and flattened herself against the cliff face, hoping to Dark that none of the bouncing boulders would hit her.
Somehow, none of them did, passing her by with a clatter and rattle and leaving her clinging to the cliff and nearly hyperventilating.
"Did you know I almost peed?" the Lepus Guide asked.
"Ew," Siddie said. "Please don't."

Rock Climbing
There were minis up here. Siddie supposed she should have guessed that, having seen the wheeling forms up towards the top of the cliff before she started climbing. Still, she had to work hard to keep from screaming and startling the things further.
"Did you know that some minipets are very territorial, particularly when they feel their nests are threatened?"
"Shut up," Siddie hissed, and barely avoided falling as a birdlike mini dived at her and nipped her hand sharply. "This is hard enough, I need to concentrate."
"Did you know that I can shut up when I really need to?"
"NO. I DIDN'T."

Rock Climbing
There was a ledge here, wide and safe - well, in a relative sense. Siddie whimpered and sat down, leaning back against the cliff, legs dangling over the edge. She was so tired, and her arms hurt.
"Did you know that it's risky to stop here?" the lepus guide warned.
"What do you mean?" Siddie asked. Just then, an ominous crack sounded underneath her. She jumped up hastily, looking for handholds to keep climbing. But it was too late. The ledge gave way beneath her, and she tumbled downwards.

Siddie dragged herself back into the group's tent, looking rather the worse for wear. Deep purply ichor had dried on her hands, knees, and elbows; her stockings were ripped, and her hair was badly tangled. She marched in, her mouth set in a grim line, and stuffed three flags into the box.
Then she collapsed on the ground beside Sammy, put her head in her ghoulfriend's lap, and cried silently.
The lepus guide poked its head out of the backpack and looked up at Sammy. "Did you know she made it most of the way very bravely?" it asked.

With some bandages and a very annoyed look on her face, Shehk had returned, with a few sticks still poking out of her hair. However, it seemed like with the return of the pricolici would come the turn of the weather - Fog. Humidity.
She'd say it made it hard to breathe, but she fortunately held the option to just not breathe if she was so inclined. Which at that moment, she wasn't. It made her already thick lungs even thicker. So it was with a series of awkward pantomimes that she actually told her group where she was headed that time, pointing off towards the Open Race course!

OPEN RACE COURSE
Hey! There was a puppy here! Maybe she should have let Sammy come run this course. Still, Shehk was careful with it, patting the pup on the shoulder before she moved, climbing up on top of it.
From the pack, she could hear a muffled DID YOU KNOW THAT THIS THING CAN RUN REALLY FAST? and she tried to not laugh. It helped she had shut her damn lungs off. Why hadn't she thought to do that during Invi's trial?
Never the less, it seemed to respond to her rather well, hefting up as it trotted out of the stables and went running off at top speed, Shehk holding on for dear (un)life as it ran freely.
She might have sworn if she had air in her lungs right then, but never the less it seemed soon enough the Wolf had worn itself out.

OPEN RACE COURSE
With the wolf slowed down, Shehk found she actually enjoyed the course a bit more, feeling the air whip past her and through her hair, grinning as she shook her head, noting a familiar red color around a near corner as her wolf friend continued on.
She made a small noise, patting the wolf on the shoulder before she leaned towards the flag to guide it close enough for her to pick it up, tucking it into her bag with the Lepus Guide.
