"Maybe...just maybe...you could be my heir...?"  "I'm bound to this duty because of what I am Nikolai- one does not leave a throne without a heir to take it after them." Medley tried to put it simply, she could not leave because of her religious value, due to the face that her mother was an angel, and she was half-human half-angel, in some sense, she was much like a prisoner, though of course she loved the church, she yearned for further freedom. So she could help people on a bigger and larger scale- love and care for the world, what her religion had taught her to do.

"Maybe...just maybe...you could be my heir...?" "It's nice." Medley said absent mindedly, her arms reach back so she could rub the two sharp lumps on her back, where her wings would someday be, or perhaps not. Because she was a hybrid she would never know if she would be like her kin or not. Medley adjusted her dress slightly and then settled her hands in the lap of her dress, at least the human had not asked what she was. She had too often had to explain it to amazed or disgusted travellers who asked why her eyes and hair were the pale white-lilacy colour it was, or perhaps why she had the power she did to bless others...

"Maybe...just maybe...you could be my heir...?" "I guess it wouldn't hurt..." Medley rose gracefully from her seat, before she was shot a warning glance by a forbidding looking old man behind the centre throne. Medley sighed, of course, she should've realised that the elders wouldn't let her have any more time off today- she'd already been travelling. Almost meekly, the apostle sunk slowly back onto her seat, before taking a small bite of the food she had brought in for Nikolai and herself some time ago, a sad look brushed across the usually calm features of her face.

"Maybe...just maybe...you could be my heir...?" "..." Medley sat quietly, you could tell on a closer look that she was tired with all the magical energy she'd been burning up that day. Medley got up with a slight sway to her step before saying shortly in what was supposed to be a calm, but was in fact a wavering voice, "I'm going to my chambers." Medley didn't want to admit Nikolai was right, she didn't want to believe that the elders of the church were being unfair to her, despite her higher ranking than them. The apostle bowed easily under the mountain of pressure and guilt that was heaped on her if she failed to do what she was told.
Medley sighed when she finally reached her chambers, it was of simple lilac and peachy colours, the bed of iron with large plush cushions and duvets. Without thinking Medley slipped off her dress and pulled on a night-gown, and slipped into her bed, almost immediately fading into sleep.

♩ Seeker of Truth ♩ Nikolai saw the tired apostle leave the room and head back to her chambers. Using all that magic seemed to have exhausted her. Guess he should head back to his room as well, and call it a night. he wouldn't want to get in trouble with the elders. he heads to his room to get some sleep. ♬ Where am I?: Aria Church

"Maybe...just maybe...you could be my heir...?" "Ngh..." Medley awoke at midnight, somehow feeling wide awake, wondering how Nikolai's night had been. Slowly the apostle rose and sank into a tin bath after she had filled it with cold holy water and undressed, once she had finished bathing she changed into some clean clothing- all her clothing was the same. Then Medley crept quietly down to the main room of the church, and stood by the door, watching the full moon with awe in her eyes. The breeze outside was suprisingly warm.

"Maybe...just maybe...you could be my heir...?" "I got plenty of sleep, thank you for asking Nikolai. I'm assuming you couldn't sleep either?" Medley continued to look at the moon, were her ancestors really out there somewwere, up in the kingdom in the sky? Medley's mother had visited there before, and had told her many tales of the beautiful place when she was a child.

"Maybe...just maybe...you could be my heir...?" "My mother was born up there." Medley smiled, knowing that Nikolai had noticed she was thinking about something. The apostle was excited now gazing up at the sky, thinking of the day she may grow her wings and explore the world that she should rightfully be able to visit, her mother was so lucky to have her wings, it was then that Medley made a vow, that she would visit the kingdom in the sky; "Some day, I'll be able to fly too."
