He nodded, close to taking notes. "Hey, you said you had muscle spasms, right? Want a massage? It might help loosen you up. That or I could take you to the hot springs, but that means goin' through that jackin' crowd again, and possibly showin' them our hot springs, which ain't gonna happen," he said. "So here, turn, gimme your back," he said, holding up his hands. "I'm good with my hands, y'know?"

"Yeah. It's from kicking some serious crab and Kracken butt!" She said a bit loudly but excitedly. Her eyes somehow lit up when he mentioned giving her a massage. "You are the bestest friend I have ever had!" Circe said before she hugged him. When she let go she turned so that her back was facing Roch. "I've never been to the hot springs. Are they good?" Circe asked, turning her head slightly so that she could openly talk to him. If this was Roch as a friend, she couldn't imagine what was in store for whatever ghoul actually dated him. And then that sparked a question. "Is there a reason why you want to learn how to flirt? Or rather... Someone?" She asked, a slight hint of playful teasing in her voice.

"Nah, no one," Roch told her as he started to rub her shoulders. "I keep hurtin' people," he said quietly. "I figure rather than accidentally breakin' hearts--mine or theirs--I should just go with bein' a flirt with everyone, y'know? So nobody starts expecting things I can't give. I'm gonna change a few things about me, nothin' serious, nothin' that seems unnatural, but things I can change without changin' who I AM, see?" He started rubbing her neck. "See, if I start flirtin' with ghouls that know I ain't out for ever after, I won't have to watch my every word. Plus I wanna hang with ghouls that can party like I do, not... well, not like some of the ghouls I've already messed up with. Does that even make sense?" he asked, leaning over to look her in the eyes.

Okay, he was right, he was indeed amazing with his hands. The moment he began rubbing her shoulders Circe felt like she had slipped into nirvana. Her eyes closed and she felt as though she could just fall asleep. Maybe next Trials she shouldn't over work herself this much. Realizing Roch was talking to her she tried to focus. "I understand." She said, opening her eyes. "But I don't think that in the long run you'll be happy." Circe said once he leaned to look at her.
Circe smiled and patted his knee gently. "I understand." She said, which was the complete and utter truth. "There is a very thin line with flirting though. And once you cross it you are setting yourself up for hurting yourself or others." Circe said, trying to get him to understand what she was trying to say. "Flirting is like..... It's like when you go to a fair! And you're having fun riding all the rides but when the nights over that's it." She said, realizing that what she said sounded a bit funny. "I don't think I'm making any sense." Circe sighed.
"I suppose the easiest way to explain it is... Well. Flirting, while fun can also do a lot of damage to yourself and others. Take me for example. Because I'm a huge flirt not a lot of people like talking to me." She scrunched up her nose a bit, knowing that her over exuberance about everything probably didn't help either. "Or the one's that do." Circe laughed a little. "Well their boils who think I'll have fun with them just because I'm a huge flirt." She sighed. "My point is that don't limit yourself. Love is making a complete a** of yourself and still waking up everyday wanting to make the same mistake over and over."
"That got deep." She said with a bit of surprise at herself, clearly in her voice.

"I like the fair," Roch pointed out, still rubbing her back. "And aren't you gonna have fun with me? I got a TON of places we could go! And hell, maybe if you and Mitzi hit it off, we can all go together or somethin, and you can both teach me to flirt at the same time. A fair would be awesome! Or have you ever tried skateboarding? Or water balloon fighting? Or there's this jackin' ghouly as hell cafe I wanna go to--they got cinnamon rolls the size of my HEAD. I could get away with goin' if I had a ghoul or two!" Then he smiled slightly, a quiet tone entering his voice. "I don't plan on fallin' in love, or havin' kids, or any of that. I want to be a grim reaper, one that spends most of his time in the human world, doin' his job. And I grew up that kid--the one left at home while his old man was gone all the time. I won't do that to a kid."

Circe laughed. "I hope me and Mitzi get to meet one day and get along." She said with a smile, though it wasn't often she got along with ghouls. "Other ghouls tend to not like me because of my flirting ways." A slight wince was her only addition. Circe turned herself a bit more and smiled at Roch. "I've never done any of those things. But they sound like fun!" She said, getting a bit giddy over the idea of doing something new and with a friend. "Can they really be the size of you're head?!" Circe exclaimed in awe. "WE HAVE GOT TO GO."
Turning herself fully now so that she could face Roch she put both of her hands on the sides of his face. "Who said you had to fall in love and get married? Or even have kids?" She asked with a smile. "Falling in love doesn't always mean forever. And no one is forcing you to do any of those things." Why couldn't she be better at explaining the things that ran through her head. "Roch, is that what's really bothering you?"

"I hurt someone," he said quietly. "Because I went too far, I think. I liked her, but I don't think I loved her. And..." He reached up, pulling her hands away from his cheeks. "I don't want to hurt my friends. A friend's more important than lust, and I don't know what love is," he summed up. "But I keep findin' myself crossin' that line you told me about, that thin line between flirtin' and goin' too far. Just cuz a kiss is fun, don't mean you should do it," he summed up. "Not when they're thinkin' somethin' different than you are, y'know?"

Roch had hurt someone? She found that a little hard to believe but then again, the way he looked right now convinced her that either he had or he was blaming himself for no reason. A light smile crossed her lips. "Well I think we discovered a bit of your problem. Lust and love are totally separate things. Love can't be learned either. And it's hard." She nodded. "Lust kinda drives flirting. Sometimes." Circe tapped her chin. "Herryk's pretty hot but... I flirt with him just because I can't stand his ghoulfriend." Circe sheepishly grinned and blushed. "You didn't hear what I just said."
"How.... How did you hurt this 'someone'?" She asked curiously, trying to change the subject a bit from her moment of truthfulness.
Ice Queen ((Edit: I didn't mean for what I said in the thread to be put that way. ouo Didn't occur to me it could be taken that way.))

"I... I kissed her a few times--or she kissed me, actually," he admitted. "But stupidly I kissed her back. I was just gettin' over this retarded crush--look, can we not talk about that? It's in the past. Things happened, life went on. And I can't stand Herryk, and Freya..." he shrugged. "I think it's just smartest to stay the hell out of that jacked up love fest entirely. Don't get it, never will. Also, you ever get a boilfriend, you tell me, okay? I'll step out of the way. Don't want them gettin' the wrong idea."

"You gave her sugar?" Circe smiled and nudged him. "Roch, in the grand scheme of stupid things you could have done that should be the least of your concerns." She said, dropping the subject after that. "Well at least we can agree on something!"
His next comment made her frown. "You'll stop being my friend just because I get a boilfriend?" She asked, clearly hurt by what he had said. "Besides, I can't make friends. What makes you think I would ever get a boilfriend?" Circe asked him with a bit of annoyance and hurt still clearly written on her face and in her voice.

He thought of how to explain it. "Somehow I just seem to make things worse for ghouls with boilfriends," he finally said. "And jealous boilfriends suck. Trust me, I had a b***h of a time with Herryk when he thought I liked Freya. I figure it's best just to back out, let them do whatever the hell dramas they want on their own time. Course there's some exceptions to that one, but on average, couples jackin' scare me," he told her with a shrug. "They're so obsessed with each other, y'know? And jealous over tiny little stuff." Obviously Freya and Herryk were his biggest experience with couples. Poor guy. "Easiest on everyone if a guy that seems like he's flirting with the ghoul just disappears for a bit." Or for good.

Circe sighed. "Well, it's unlikely to ever happen so don't worry. Or get your hopes up." She replied still unsure of what his intention was. "I'm sorry couples scare you. The only couple experience I had is with Herryk and Freya and.... I can't say I was being good." Circe looked over at Roch. "Those cinnamon rolls sound good right about now. Or donuts."

"Yeah, but that would involve going through that crowd again," he said with a sigh. "I got some candybars? We could munch on those and do some karaoke! I got a booth over there," he said, pointing to a tiny room built into his corner.

Once more the ghoul sighed. "I wonder if it would be to bad of a thing if I used my FEAR on them." She said, seriously debating it. And then she thought of the candybars and this karaoke. Lifting herself up off his couch bed she walked over to the booth he had set up and then turned around. "What is karaoke?" Circe asked as she once more proved that she knew nothing of the 'normal' teenage things.

"Don't," Roch said, getting off the bed and heading for the kitchen to get a box of candybars. "No attacking the annoying ones. We've had enough problems at the school already. They'd bring the boogies right back, and that was HELL," he told her as he headed for the karaoke booth. "And karaoke is awesome. You like to sing?" he asked.
