You can go, trainee.

There may or may not have been a shiver down Reine's spine, completely unrelated to how cold the room actually was and also the fact that she wasn't wearing her jacket. She took one last, wistful look at Caelius, then walked out of the room.

What had that been all about, man, she didn't have a clue.

Standing outside the door, she shook her jacket, smoothing out the creases, and put it on.

Jordan grumbled wordlessly and snagged his phone off his nightstand, forcing himself awake enough to check the text. Maybe it'd be someone he could safely ignore until a decent hour - no, no, of course not. Text from Caelius. Damn. He was sitting up already as he flipped the phone open, ready to slide out of bed, haul his clothes on, and take off at a run for the classroom - but what he read both stopped him and brought him wide awake immediately. What? Wait, what?

He checked the top of the text again, but the name on it didn't change. Message from Caelius, referring to himself in the third person, asking for help, in Robert's syntax. Had Robert somehow gotten hold of Caelius's phone? And if so, why was he asking Jordan to meet him in Cael's office?

He typed out a quick reply and got up, pulling his clothes on just as fast as he would have had it been an actual mission text, because whatever was going on, it was trouble.

Robert stared at the door for several minutes, before checking the text that he heard coming through when Reine had left. Something that had settled happily within him started to tear, and break, and unsettle uncomfortably. As he stared at the door, a heavy silence fell on his heart, and he wasn't sure it was ever going to lift again.

So, he did his best to try to forget it existed.

Hopping back over to the desk, he opened up the phone, and read the text. Jordan! It took him long enough to answer.. but at least he hadn't collided with Reine. Robert sat back down on the chair, propped his feet up, and waited, impatiently, for his best friend to show up. He considered texting back, but it would just come out as more nonsense. It would be better for him to just come and see for himself.

When Jordan arrived, he hesitated for a long moment before just opening the door and barging in. It had sounded like Robert was there alone, but if he opened the door uninvited and found the Death division head there - well, he'd be lucky if Circe remained unsummoned. So, instead, he knocked quietly and waited, resisting the urge to glance down the hall and see if anyone was watching. If he acted like something suspicious was going on, he'd be much more likely to attract actual suspicion.

Robert was going to play his role right, this time. No more Reine ******** with his head and making him go off script. This time, he was going to own this role.

At least, until he was ready to drop the bombshell.

"Come in." He called out in a short, flat, and altogether bored tone. He dropped his feet off the desk, leaned in, and clasped his hands directly in front of him - nevermind that he still wasn't wearing a shirt.

Nevermind that.

... That wasn't Robert's voice. Well. Good thing he'd knocked. Jordan opened the door and stepped into the office, he step faltering only for an instant as he realized that Caelius was shirtless. That was ... uncharacteristic. Everything about this situation was just weird. He closed the door and stopped just inside, keeping his face carefully blank. "I received a text asking me to come to this office," he said, not quite making it a question.

Where was Robert, what had happened, and why the hell was Caelius half-dressed? He didn't think he'd ever seen the man without his coat, much less anything else.

"Of course you did." The clipped voice responded. "The text was from me, wasn't it?" He sounded vaguely annoyed, and tried not to laugh at how good he was nailing Caelius. "Sit down. We have some business to discuss."

And now, he was at a loss. What could he possibly rib Jordan for? Jordan was, as far as he was concerned, the best Hunter he'd ever met. This included every division leader, and even Caelius himself - how strong someone was or how much power they wielded didn't matter when it came down to who was the best. One day, Jordan would probably run this place. One day, Caelius would make a mistake, and Jordan would be sitting in this chair. This comfy, swivel chair.

He lived for that day.

'Caelius' moved to stand up off the chair, and started pacing the room. He stared at one of the white walls, his hands behind his back as he contemplated what he could do to tease his boss.

And then, all at once, an idea came to him.

"Do you like this office?" He asked, rather apathetically. "Does it please you?" He turned, and his sparkling gaze at the man, one brow raised curiously. "Or would you redecorate? Come here." He gestured with one finger, beckoning Jordan to come forward, and then waving at the chair behind the desk. "Try it out. Let's see how you look in it."

"The spelling and syntax seemed unusual," Jordan said, and cautiously sat down. Business to discuss - wha -

He kept his expression as blank as possible while his mind scrambled for some kind of explanation of the bizarre situation. This was not something he would ever have expected from Caelius; that on top of all the other odd things about what was going on made him extremely suspicious. Some kind of effect from a Life labs experiment? ... Julie's cooking? That was a distinctly disturbing possibility, and if that was the case, when Caelius regained his usual attitude and outlook, Jordan would be in some really deep s**t if he stepped out of line at all now.

He took a careful breath. "Sir," he said. "You haven't been - ah - given any unknown baked goods, have you? You're not acting like yourself."

DAMNIT DAMNIT JORDAN SAW RIGHT THROUGH HIM DAMNIT-

Okay, pull it together, Robert. He took a deep breath, and tried to look as demanding as possible.

"It is not your job to question me, trainee, I believe it is your job to do what I say. So get up, and sit in that chair, for nothing more than the simple reason that I told you to."

Would Caelius say something like that? He felt sick to his stomach - Jordan was going to punch him when he found out the truth, but he just wanted to play a little longer. Just a little longer, boss.

Well, refusing direct orders was a recipe for trouble, even if Caelius was under some kind of effect. And that had indeed sounded a lot more like Caelius. Jordan got up slowly, still keeping his expression a blank mask, and walked around the desk to sit down in the swivel chair.

It was really comfortable, actually, but he'd rather not be sitting in it. He'd had one close encounter with Circe, and he didn't really care to repeat the experience. "May I get up now?" he asked.

"Did I say you could-" Ahhh, ******** it. 'Caelius' just started laughing uncontrollably, a loud, raucous laughter that shook his entire body, and coming from him sounded like the end of days. He flopped on the desk, literally lying his whole body down on top of it, and stretched out ridiculously in front of Jordan.

"Oh, mistah Jordan, please boss me around~" He said these words in a very high pitched voice, which made him crack up in laughter all over again, and probably scare the life right out of Jordan. In fact the entire scene was a touch frightening, but Robert had fallen completely out of character, and he couldn't help but be absolutely ridiculous about it.

... What.

What.

What.

Jordan's eyes narrowed. "Robert," he said. "You are an a*****e, and when you go back to looking like yourself I am going to punch you."

Robert's laughter roared, and he turned around to sit on his stomach, while his knees bent up and his feet crossed behind him. He faced Jordan, and put his head in his cheeks.

"Ohhh my God, boss, how did you know! AM I THAT OBVIOUS." He fluttered his eyelashes and puckered his lips. "Maybe you just know me so well because you're in looove with me~"

He was asking for it.

Sobering up slightly, he grinned a cheeky grin. "No, but seriously. Check it. I wake up this morning, right. In this disgustingly big bed, with no Petra, and half my normal d**k, and I'm like, what the ********. And apparently? Caelius is in my body. So what do you think, boss?" Robert posed sexily. "Am I a better fit? Should I go lead the masses to their doom like this?"
PostPosted: Sat Mar 10, 2012 10:05 pm

Jordan raised one eyebrow as high as it could go. "That's just disturbing, dude," he said. "And I really did not need to know anything about Caelius's p***s size, thank you very much. Augh." He shook his head; the humor of the situation couldn't help but impress itself on him, though, and he started snickering. "And I think that you'd better go put a shirt on, because when he wakes up he's going to come up here looking for you, and if you're doing anything embarrassing looking like him ... "

He let the sentence trail off, smirking. "You are an a*****e, and I'm getting out of here before he gets here, because if he knows anyone knew it's you in there, we're both in trouble." With that, he got up, patting Robert's shoulder on the way around the desk and immediately feeling really weird about it.

He paused at the door to look back, expression going serious for a moment. "Call me if you need help, bro, I'll do whatever I can, but right now I think I'd better be somewhere else." He slipped out the door, closing it again behind him.

Awww, he was leaaaavingggg... Jordan was no fun, sometimes. Sure, survival instincts were making him choose the right decision, but since when was being safe ever fun? He pouted and watched the man leave, slumping as he plopped back into Caelius' chair and just.. waited for the boring day to begin. Caelius probably had super boring days. No fun at all.

Caelius was in your bed. He's wearing your clothes.

Thought you should know.

...Well at least the man had had an interesting morning, for once. Robert closed the phone after reading the message, and smiled.

Then the smile went away when the words sunk in, and he furiously texted back.
