Deryk went ahead and fist bumped Robert before glancing to Cass. Yeah, this place was definitely tropical. He had a pretty good feeling they were somewhere in South America.
"Hope I don't end up getting leeches or whatever... That would be.. bad. Yes. Bad. "
When Leon bumped him, he winced a bit. He was still a bit tender from that run-in with the black dog in Ireland and all.

"You can eat my fist," she offered amiably, tiptoeing and reaching up to pat him on the shoulder, because she couldn't reach his head. Too bad you were so tall, Robert.
Snacks.. huh. The life trainee rummaged in her pockets and pulled out a bit of.. lint.
"Sorry, got nothing. Don't go around picking fruits or nuts or mushrooms though, okay, you don't want to die or something.."

Rep was mentally checking off people in his head as he watched them emerge from the portal. First there was that big guy who he'd seen on the yeti mission and who'd brought the donuts to the sun mission. He'd never had a chance to talk to him but he'd filed him under good guy, so he let him get himself sorted out without harassing him. Then there was blonde midget, he'd never spoken to the guy but he looked preoccupied.
Was that girl one of the projectiles who'd come through the portal? He stared for a bit before shaking his head. Naaah. He must have imagined the white blur surely. The next guy he didn't recognise right away. Awww, there was the little tug of war girl. He wondered who'd seize upon her first in the rampant faction war over jumping her ******** bones. And then crossbow girl, he'd never spoken to her either.
He stopped his mental checklist when he got to Leon. ******** hell. Why was HE here? He shot him a very sullen glare and fought the urge to flip him the bird. He was too busy glaring to even notice Candace arrive.

Cass didn't seem to be convinced, but she grinned and lightly knuckled the boy's cheek anyways in a playful manner. "Alright. You're just lookin' kinda bothered so I thought I'd check. Should be fine." She gave Candace a sort of inquisitive look before she looked at the cave.
"Ten bucks that the second you go in the cave it'll drop to below absolute zero." she noted with a small laugh. It seemed like the kind of place they'd go - somewhere cold as ******** in the middle of a hot-as-hell place. Yep. Completely on par for their sort of madness.
The kind of madness she never thought she'd live through, actually. So it was fun in that way. A lot of fun.
She grinned as Leon bumped into her, shouldering him back as roughly as she could and laughing. "Up and at 'em like always, Leon." she greeted fondly - Leon was one of her bros, after all. He was like a big brother in the same vein as Bix. Always the big brothers. It was a sort of nice protective feeling for her. "I have the feeling that Caelius is going to fly out of nowhere on the back of a giant man-eating Cockroach for his steed."

The island generally had pleasant weather - a fact Wash leaned to appreciate upon stepping into what seemed to be a jungle. It certainly had the facemelting, over-the-top humidity. And tropical foliage.
And more than likely deadly insects. Following the example of a few others and shrugging off his coat, he slung it over his shoulder and hastened to the tent.
Insects huh? Are you afraid of spiders?
Wash refused to comment.

Upon receiving the text….Molly spent a lot of time preparing her bag.
She kept the smaller one she used for the mission to the North Pole, but for the majority of the day, Molly was hemming and hawing about what to bring. The text said ‘a mission’, but it didn’t say where. So…general items! Molly brought a little bit of all the essentials. After getting a good night’s sleep, the young woman was ready to roll! After eating a healthy and nutritional balanced breakfast, of course. The Mist trainee hummed to herself as she stepped through the portal, shouldering her bag and giving her environment a look over.
Interesting…
It was also worthwhile to note, that Molly did pack extra breakfast bars.

Looking down at her phone to see that there was another mission and while she was glad to go on another mission but this one just was so strange for her as it had come from Caelius to not be there right this second or not really early in the morning that made Tori worry that something was up as this wasn't normal from what she was use to coming from the Caelius.
After her morning run and in general getting ready for a mission, Tori headed to the training field portal, slightly nervous and cautious when she had gotten there. Seeing others there going through the portal as she walked up to it and she still wondered to why as she went thought the portal.
Once through the portal too see the jungle and then the cave made her a little more nervous as she wanted to know what this mission was about and she kept on thinking of the things that she had learned from reading some of the papers that she had helped clean up in Caelius classroom. At least this wasn't the desert and a nice change from the island. Tori quietly walked towards the cave unsure if she should talk with anyone or just keep quiet until Caelius came and told them what there mission was going to be.

He managed a sort of smile at Cass - sort of. It was more of a pained sort of grimace at the prospect of having to go into the cave at all, but he appreciated her thoughts anyway.
"Thanks," he said weakly, and pushed more damp hair out of his eyes, wishing he had cut it just a tad shorter so it wouldn't keep getting into the line of his vision.
Arms slipped around him from behind - familiar arms, the only arms he wouldn't object to hugging him, all things considered, since they could only belong to one person - the only person Gale wouldn't throw a fit about the whole hugging thing. Automatically he leaned into Candace, momentarily pressing his face into her arm and trying to dispel some of the horrible tension that was pressing down on him.
Then she moved away and he closed his eyes briefly, exhaling slowly before opening them again.
Unfortunately the cave was still there.
Bloody hell.
<< Well, this'll be fun. >>
A flash of red hair caught his eye, and Gale's gaze flickered sideways.
"Hi, Molly."

Was Leon surprised that the ginger sun hunter was already trying to glare daggers into him? Not one bit, but pushing that aside, glaring back at him won't help much with the mission so brushing Rep aside like some kind of featherweight boxer or reporter was like nothing.
Out of site, out of mind. The friendly return shove of Cass had thim beaming at the girl and a hearty chuckle bubbled out from his throat. "Indeed Cass." he said while ruffling the mist hunters hair. It was like having the sibling he never had, well it went for all of them, even Robert and Jerry. Like the two younger, spoiled kids that had to get their way for everything.
"You know." he stared all of a sudden, scratching his chin in thought. "I could actually believe that could happen Cass." he agreed quietly with her and patting Deryk on the back. "I hope you had your daily intake of caffeine there bud, you seem a bit out of it."

Rin got the text, she thought nothing of it. She had yet to meet this Killius person anyway.
The time came and she wavered a bit. Rocking her body back and forth at the portal before tossing herself in in a rather noobish matter. Emerging on the other end... her hair almost immediately poofed up in the humidity.
She looked ridiculous. She tried to act like she didn't care. Deep down inside though - she cared. She cared a lot.
She resisted the strong urge to pout as she watched the people present and casting glances at others arriving.

Ofelia wasn't too content to just stand around and cackle after a bit, people were gathering together, and for all the faces she didn't know she felt like she needed to go and try to speak to a few of them. Rue warned her away from approaching women, women were pointless and useless and therefore not worthy of Rue's presence, and so Ofelia settled on a person who just came from the portal and was shedding his clothing like all the rest. Something about him made her want to go over and talk.
Maybe it was because he was male and Rue was demanding.
Yup, it was because he was male.
"Howdy."

Suspicious Wilson was suspicious. He could stomach Caelius sending out a notice an hour early at the most, but a whole day? Something was not right with this picture. The fact that Gramps lovingly offered horrifying suggestions to the trainee seemed to only worsen his paranoia. The next morning as he mulled around the cafeteria with an apple in his hand, Wilson even wondered if he should go at all. Then the thought of what his division leader would do to him entered his mind and he reluctantly made his way toward the training fields. It was mostly empty of trainees, but then again, weren’t they already on the other side of the portal?
He blinked at the sudden rush of heat that surrounded him once he stepped into the forest. Sighing, Wilson idly picked at his shirt. Wilson could handle cold weather. Humidity? Not so much. It was probably a better idea to not pay attention to it. He noticed Rep—the guy from Twitter, right??—glaring at someone. Huh. Wilson decided to smile and wave at the sun trainee anyways. Smiles solved everything, right?
Maybe.
While he might have attempted to walk over and talk with Rep, Rin’s rather poofy hair caught his eye. He tried not to stare. Try being the key word.

She didn't even try to pat her hair down when it was ruffled. She figured it it was meant to be ruffled and messy, so be it.
"Oh, I fully expect it to. It will be like that Napoleon Crossing the Alps painting, only it will be Caelius on the back of a giant cockroach dramatically gesturing with Circe for all of us to go to our deaths inside the black abyss of death." Cass clarified her mental image quite well, actually. It was a pretty poignant one at that.
She paused after a moment.
"And he'll have perfect hair too."

When the text came at a reasonable time, from Caelius of all people, Vanessa immediately began preparing for what she assumed to be their doom. Their immediate, painful, painful doom. Knowing the Death Division's Leader, and his usual style of texting, something was definitely wrong.
As such, Vanessa's cargo pockets were loaded with anything she might need, from a pair of rubber gloves to trail mix. After the Sahara Incident, the Lifer went on no mission without having some kind of tissue, paper towel, or rubber glove in her pockets.
By the time Vanessa arrived at the portal, she'd eaten a good breakfast and already worked out for a few hours. It was a productive start of a day. Now, just to see what came next. She entered the portal.
Immediately, she felt her hair starting to frazzle slightly from their enviroment. The Life trainee immediately began to scan the area, taking in as much of it as she could, including who was there. She noticed a slightly-nervous looking Sydney off to one side, and moved toward her. She gave the other girl a nod, taking in already summoned weapon. "Salutations. I assume you're prepared for this mission?" She asked, nodding to Izy's form, half-wondering if she should summon Volt.

A successful fistbump was achieved.
Robert groaned at Reine, leaving her jacket alone and choosing instead to lean on her head with both arms. "Why don't you ever bring a snaaaaack," He whined, looking around with scavengers eyes.
The heat was starting to get to him. In true Robert fashion, he relieved Reine of his weight and started pulling off his jacket, holding it between his legs while he pulled his shirt off. He dropped the sweaty garment on the floor, and picked his jacket up, tying the sleeves around his neck and letting it hang over his back. Then he picked up his shirt, and waved it threateningly in Reine's face.
Ah, but the smell of food had reached his nostrils, and he stopped teasing Reine long enough to start sniffing the air. He followed his nose, sniffing around people randomly; Leon got a whiff right in the hair, did that guy use strawberry shampoo or something?? But eventually, his nose was pressed against Molly's backpack, and he looked up at the girl he didn't know with the widest, most pathetic puppy dog eyes ever.
Feed me, they said.
