"You know, I'm not much of a fighter, but..." "Oh! Oh! My name is Reilynn. Nice to meet you, Aerin! Say, I think that's a pretty name and it sure is easy to remember." Reilynn remarked. Aerin seemed really nice. She looked like a very cheery girl. Reilynn will probably like her a lot.
Suddenly the teacher came in and asked her how they were. "Oh! I'm well-- GAAAHHH. What is that? It smelled like something died in here?" Reilynn blurted out. "Errrrr...." She got a good look at the teacher. Hmmmm.
"Just kidding! I was totally kidding! Smells great in here!" Reilynn remarked with a nervous laugh. "...I'm a pretty darn good treasure hunter!"

◤¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯◥ IAN ◣__________◢ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Ian had overheard their little introductions to each other and, after twitching a bit at the comment about his scent, began to write their names on the board. With his claw. It was too troublesome to try to pick up the chalk, so he and his students would just have to deal with the noise.
"Reilynn... and Aerin..." He repeated their names after he made the last mark on the board, spelling both of their names wrong. He honestly didn't care, though. He just wanted to get this quick lesson over with.
"In a place like Rosentale, you do not have your average business practices. You are surrounded by witches, warlocks, elves, fairies, and other magical things. It may not seem like it, but magic and business are heavily linked, for one of the most dangerous forms of magic is often used when forming contracts..." Well, he hadn't seen the practice around here very often, but in many other places he visited, he saw the dirty method used almost constantly. And it seemed like an interesting way to start his first real lesson.
After taking a breath, he spun around and started marking up the board again with that grading squeal from his nail. "Curses," He finally finished as he completed a few odd markings across the entire board.
"Any questions so far? And no questions about the stench of death, or I will demonstrate the power of curses for you." __________________________________________________________

”Why was man created on the last day? So that he can be told, When pride possesses him: God created the gnat before thee.” - The Talmud
Aerin withheld a snort as soon as Reilynn commented about the foul rancidity that oozed off the sickening creature. Hm. She seemed rather... alright so far. Surprisingly, she carried quite a jubilant and innocent air about her unlike many of the other scum that littered this school. With that decision made, she was going to temporarily removed from her hate list along with a select few. That is until the girl did something wrong. "Thank you." She simply replied, knowing that any more said would lead to a giggling fit.
With the screeching sound erupting from Ian she cursed his name writing away on the board with his claw diediedie, Aerin placed her hands over her ears to block the sound out, but it was to no avail. The noise still grated her poor ears. If only this Reilynn girl wasn't here.... Aerin would have definitely smited this hideous monster the moment he disrespected them with that mispelling! Actually, she wanted to kill him just for stepping into the room.
As soon as Aerin managed to comprehend the subject they were going over, she was tempted to scowl. Curses? That was dark magic right there, and it was generally associated with despicable trash. If this creature thought that she would lower herself to such a level.... ugh. "Sir, how exactly would curses be utilized within our lives? Are they not usually made for harm or deceit? While I understand that magic might be enforced to keep a person true to a contract, don't curses lead to consequences?"
Look. It was Cyril who arrived late. How lucky. He missed the horrible screeching. He needed to suffer too. "Welcome to the classroom. I believe that you have not missed much. The teacher is merely discussing about curses." She simply greeted with a friendly smile.

"You know, I'm not much of a fighter, but..." Curses? Reilynn gulped. That sounded really, really, really scary and very, very, very shady. How did it get tied int business again? Oh yeah. He said something about contracts. Witches knew a thing about curses, but Reilynn was not such a witch. She flinched at the sound of nails on chalkboard.
"Professor! I have a question. Did you know that you spelled my name wrong?" Reilynn said as she raised her hand. "It's R. E. I. L. Y. N. N." Reilynn informed.
She opened her mouth for another question and then realized it was about his smell so she shut her mouth and put down her hand and was about to stay quiet and then she raised her hand again before he could start talking again. "OH! And one more question! Do you need me to go and ask the headmistress to bring you chalk? Your pretty nails might get hurt if you keep that up!" "...I'm a pretty darn good treasure hunter!"

◤¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯◥ IAN ◣__________◢ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ "My dear," Wow, it felt odd to call anyone but Annalie that now. Ugh, "I never said I would teach you how to use curses. There are always consequences when dealing with curses, so I will teach you something that even you may appreciate; avoiding curses."
He opened his mouth to continue, but stopped when he watched someone enter the room late. He was about to shout at them and make them regret it, until he realized that it was Cyril. He couldn't yell at an ally other than Aerin, of course. He turned around and etched Cyril's name on the board under the two before he continued.
"I do not need chalk. My nails have been getting too long anyway. ...... Oh, right. Names are a very powerful tool when dealing with curses, and Reilynn here just showed us one big mistake. Though I knew her name, I had spelled it incorrectly. She was safe from any curses I could put on her, whether I knew it or not. But now that I know for sure that I have the correct spelling..." He carved a line through Reilynn's name and wrote the correct spelling right next to it. "I am that much closer to placing a curse on her."
"You will earn points in this class when your classmates move closer to having a curse placed on them. Learn from your classmates' mistakes and my lectures, and maybe even use a few underhanded methods and use your fellow classmates as stepping stones if you like to get a passing grade. After all, the business world is... a dog eat dog world. It is not pleasant, and you will be corrupted. If you have anymore questions, feel free to ask. If not, class is dismissed." __________________________________________________________

”Why was man created on the last day? So that he can be told, When pride possesses him: God created the gnat before thee.” - The Talmud
Reilynn was very naive wasn't she? As refreshing as it was to see it, it definitely didn't belong in this setting of people who were trying to wreck Rosentale. She should probably leave or something before she was tainted by all this negative influence.
As for avoiding curses, It was too late for that. No, no. She shouldn't think that way. She was merely being sent on a mission, and just would up in this horrible form.
All this picking on Reilynn was a nuisance though. Aerin pouted and huffed out. "Stop that! It was an honest mistake, and I believe that does not give you the right to bully her, Cyril." She turned to the girl and tried to reassure her. "Don't listen to them. They just enjoy being cruel." Instead of fear, trust was another way to get to someone. It proved to be a better tactic because gullibility could lead to practically anything.

"You know, I'm not much of a fighter, but..." Whooops! That meant Reilynn made a mistake. She covered her mouth. She was just helping him correctly spell her name. Although his lecture went in her head and out instantly because she just didn't understand what the professor was saying.
Eeep! She felt terrified when she heard Cyril speak and a little nervous. How did she know who was shady and who wasn't? And what did candy have to do with this? Oh no! Oh no! Reilynn wasn't sure what to do.
She felt better when Aerin started to speak with her. "Oh. Okay! Ummm... so I have a question, Professor Ian." This was bothering her for a while now. Reilynn grimly looked towards the professor with a serious expression on her face. She looked straight at the names carved on the board. "Will you be using that board the entire year? Because it sure will get messy as you write more and more on it because you keep carving stuff and you know that it won't come off." Reilynn asked. "...I'm a pretty darn good treasure hunter!"

◤¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯◥ IAN ◣__________◢ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ "Thank you, Cyril," And Ian genuinely did mean that thanks. It was the first time he got a compliment from anyone in... ever, so he definitely appreciated it. Though, the lesson was only so quick because, well, he didn't feel like teaching.
He sat down behind his desk as Aerin 'defended' Reilynn from their bullying. Sure, he wasn't being very nice, but he was teaching her a valuable lesson. She should be grateful that he even wasted his time on them. They were all rather dull and uninteresting, and sometimes annoying, yet he still bore with them. Though, he was impressed. It looked like Reilynn trusted her much more than him and Cyril. He wasn't sure if that was her intention, but if it was, he had to give her credit for taking advantage of the situation.
He frowned when Reilynn said she had another question, sure that it was going to have absolutely nothing to do with anything relevant. But, he was surprised to hear that she had a good point. He turned to look back at the destroyed board for a second, thinking a bit. Hm. Eventually, he turned back to her and said, "It is property of the school. They can repair it with their funds. I would use chalk if I could... but I cannot."
Just to demonstrate his point, he tried to pick up the piece of chalk on his desk with his claws. At first, he actually succeeded, but after a few seconds, it slipped out. Picking up some stuff was like playing a twisted crane game from hell. It just wasn't worth the effort. Plus, damaging school property was always fun. __________________________________________________________

"You know, I'm not much of a fighter, but..." Reilynn frowned. As a treasure hunter--and as her mother's assistant in the potions store--Reilynn found something very wrong with destroying the board and having it replaced every time.
"That boy whose name I don't know is very right. Don't use the board anymore or we could try making an awesome invention to help you write!" Reilynn exclaimed excitedly. "Because if the school has to repair it with their funds, that's just money that could have gone to your paycheck, right? Right? And a treasure hunter can never let that kind of thing get away from their grasp!"
"Besides! Never mind writing. Talking is much, much faster. It's just people just never listen sometimes!" "...I'm a pretty darn good treasure hunter!"

.:l Annalie Dahl l:.
”When the world says, ‘Give up,’
There was so much damn hatred for her "students." Ah yes, her "students." She had apparently found that they actually did belong to her class, but they just chose to never attend. How infuriating. She definitely needed to destroy things now to calm herself down, but... her pool was already wrecked. Where else could she go? It wasn't like she could randomly throw a tantrum in the lounge or anywhere else without being expected to pay for it. Ah, right. There was her lovely fiancé's room.
With that plan in mind, she made sure to walk albeit very slowly while clinging to the walls over to his room and promptly began flipping desks and throwing anything she can get her hands on. Destroying things always made everything better.
Hope whispers, ‘Try it one more time.’” - Anonymous

[Quoting you so you know I godmodded >=D Complain if you want, if not, it's off to Teavil!] ◤¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯◥ IAN ◣__________◢ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Ian was walking down the hall, planning on checking up at the mansion to see if there were any evil things he could do. Because, really, all he did so far was have his poor claw scraped by that... vile woman. But he stopped when he heard crashing in a nearby classroom. His classroom. He was just about to run in and strangle (and end up decapitating thanks to his claws) whoever was trashing his room, but he caught the familiar scent of freshwater fish.
He peeked in the classroom and saw her... walking!? It was funny how that surprised him more than the fact that she was wrecking his room, but he didn't have time to find anything funny. He slowly and cautiously approached her from behind as she was in the process of flipping a desk, wondering what could have possibly enraged her so. It was like watching Godzilla terrorize a town, but worse. It wasn't a town, but his classroom!
Just as he caught the scent of blood nearby, he scooped up Annalie in his arms, sure that he was going to be abused more than usual for trying to stop her. "D-dear..." Oh, he was definitely going to have his neck snapped for this, so he didn't want to waste his time there. He figured that maybe if he went to a more populated area, she would stop her rampage. The mansion was the first place to come to mind. And maybe he could follow the scent of blood on the way there! Perfect. "Please don't cause a scene," He begged as he ran out the door, hoping he wouldn't be beaten up too badly before he arrived.
