Riddick rolled onto his side slowly after she got up, watching her carefully. If she wasn't sure about this... he'd make sure it never came up again. He wasn't really sure what would happen if she didn't; he could pretend like this never happened but now that she had some idea that he was interested in her as more than a simple friend and student... could she?

It looked like he might not have to worry about that though. He had a shiver of his own when she brushed his ear. It turned rather rapidly into movement as he sat up and brushed his cheek against hers, leaving it pressed there as he lifted one paw to her shoulders to hold her there. "I believe "you" would be the short answer. If you want the long one..."

He relaxed his grip, though he stayed where he was. "You've been through hell and come out the other side. Not smelling like roses, maybe, but anyone who'd claim they were fine and dandy after something like that is a damn liar. I actually trust you to have my back; you've probably noticed I don't keep a whole lot of friends. You've also made it very hard to keep my mind on good little boy thoughts for a while now..." He turned his head to whisper in her ear. "And you know... it's been nice to have someone to come back to for once."

He let her go then, shifting backward to sit up properly and fixing her with his mirrored eyes. "How's that for not-bull?"

It felt good to have her there, right there. His arms curled around her almost automatically, but distracted as he was he couldn't help an amused snort at the last thing she said. "Oh. Well as long as you at least kinda like me, i guess." He shook his head before glancing back down at her with an eyebrow raised. "You know, you never did tell me what you'd decided we were gonna do today." Pause. "Gotta admit I have more than a few ideas now, though..." He coughed slightly and looked up at the ceiling.

The sun was dipping into evening when Riddick woke, ears alerted by some out of place sound. He got up as quietly as he could and headed outside to see what had caused it, but after nearly half an hour of not finding so much as any out of place tracks for the better part of a mile he decided there must have been some sort of predator/prey interaction that had woken him. Or maybe a bird fart. Nothing to be riled over in any case, so he headed back to the cave.

Started to, in any case, then took a detour back toward the berry bush he'd encountered earlier. It still had some flowers on it as well... He might not be a classic romantic, but that didn't mean he didn't have his moments.

Riddick had some notion of surprising Raven with the flowers when he returned, so he was already being as silent as possible re-entering the tree outside. When he realized she'd woken while he was out he then did his best to sneak into the "back room" of the cave with the tiny waterfall and small pond while she seemed to be watching the view from the sky-side entry. He filled a small bowl with water and placed the flowers on top, watching them dance around as the water swirled in the container for a moment before carefully moving it back into the main living area. He set it down and sat behind it, canting his head as he noticed the tense posture she was carrying. He cleared his throat to alert her to his presence just in case there was something outside. After all that poking around he did earlier, if there was something out there trying to ruin his first really good day in years... Well it had been a while since he got his daggers out, he should probably make sure he wasn't getting rusty.

Riddick ruffled Raven's hair gently. "Nah, that's where I went after I snuck off. Thought I heard something, wanted to make sure." He shrugged. "Bird fart or something, nothing to report." He waited a moment to see her response to that, and then with no real warning grabbed her and kissed her soundly. "Still time to catch the sunset if you want to."

Secret romantic? Maybe. He'd never really had the chance before. Though any further attempts to explore the potential of that statement were almost immediately washed away by Raven's actions when she went back over to the "window". Apparently it hadn't been a bird fart earlier, and Riddick slipped into stealth mode almost immediately and slunk belly down toward the view to see what had his girl so alarmed.

Him. The one who hurt her. As pleased as Riddick would have been to tear the guy's throat out it was Raven's fight, and she'd earned the opportunity. "What do you want to do?" Better to draw him to a place where she would have the advantage. And give him as little opportunity to find a way into the cave as possible. Not that he didn't have several other potential dwellings long since staked out, but... well he'd gotten fond of the place.

Riddick watched the male below intently. If he didn't know from Raven how dangerous he was, Riddick would have passed him off for the average abusive a**. But the Furyan knew better, and simply nodded when Raven said it was something she needed to do. "I know, birdy. Gotta say the jerk has some pretty ******** up timing, though." He smirked a bit, then motioned out the opening with his head. "Go kick his a**."

He was going to follow, of course. He didn't want to take any chances. Raven was stronger, and she was a decent fighter now. But she was no killer... and Rayne was. If your opponent had no boundaries on how far he was willing to go when you did... there were certain things that could always go wrong.

He wasn't going to lose Raven the way he'd lost so much else.
