He let out a tiny squeak of victory as the Great Knife connected with a soft spot in the crab's natural armor.
"WE MUST PROTECT HOME!"
Not so threatening when he was so itty bitty.

After spitting all over the crab's face to try to get the awful taste out of his mouth, Thackery reached to snatch up the other eye stalk in frustration. He tugged on both as hard as he could, his stomach knotting when he thought he felt one of them pop. Okay, that had been too much, maybe.
"I told you already that we aren't good for food, and you're not good for food either, so just turn around and leave us alone!" he insisted, giving it an angry tap on the head with his foot. Yeah, that would show him who was boss.

Aymet, meanwhile, had been pinned under an oversized claw. There was a somewhat disconcerting series of cracks as the dracolich's spine broke. His lower half was still pinned, but the upper half was making a fast escape, looking rather like a hybrid between Tess and a Soul Eater.
He came bounding right back, though, gaining just enough altitude with his wings to go sailing right at the crab's face (if that's what you could call it).
Undead were renowned for one thing, usually. Brute strength.

"Excellent work, Aymet," Ashford whooped, his voice still ridiculously high pitched to the normal ear.
"We commend you for your efforts."
Ding dong, Dorothy is dead, as they say.

*** ROLL 4 20-sided dice*** THE TIDE COMES IN AND...It started with a dull rumble. There, on the horizon. It looked like a cloud, or a wall, or.... Water. THE TIDE. Even as the team raced to get behind the walls of sand, the water came crashing in, pulling down everything in its path. The unsturdy palace shook to its foundations, which were also unfortunately made of sand. The red herring was carried off to a life of maritime adventure and lived happily ever after. ((OOC: ROLLED DAMAGE DONE: SUM OF YOUR DICE ROLLS OFFENSE OR DEFENSE: IF ODD, offensive damage, if EVEN, defensive damage. Now, if offense damage, subtract your defense FROM the offensive damage, vice versa. For example, if I roll a 77, that is OFFENSE. I look at my DEFENSE points. I have 10 defense points. I subtract 77-10. That is 67 damage done to MY CASTLE. SUM TOTAL OF DAMAGE DONE TO CASTLE After all calculations in play.: 33 DAMAGE

Aymet tried to pick up a grain of sand, slipped, and dropped it. This was harder than it looked.

Clumsily, tiny Ash tried to put some sand up to fortify their castle.
Unfortunately, the brick decided to land on his nice oxford shoes.
He was distressed about this fact.

Luckily, he was slightly more successful this time around. A few pieces went into place, and Ash wished very dearly that he could remove his helm.
The patches on his skin would not do well in the sun, in front of everyone's watchfuleyestheywerewatching--

Aha! This was getting to be a little easier. With triumph, the reaper put a few more pieces of sand up, content with himself.
"We approve of this," he said, slapping his hands free of sand.

The crab finally managed to throw him off, presumably skittering back into the ocean. Thackery was only just beginning to push himself up to a standing position when there came the sound of thunder and the rush of water. Really cold water. He spluttered as some of it found its way into his agape mouth, and frantically scrabbled towards the castle.
"We have to save it! No, no, it can't die!" It may have made more sense to save themselves, but his mind was on their kingdom. He struggled to push the sand into a more compact formation, but send some tumbling onto his feet instead. With a yelp, he struggled to free himself. This was not going well.

His feet didn't seem to want to budge, so Thackery just gave in and began to pack more sand into the places that he could reach. He looked particularly panicked as the seafoam began to lap at his feet - what if it ate the castle and drowned them all at once? Surely they wouldn't let this happen...?
The area to his right seemed solid enough, but as he tried to pack more sand to his left, it just came tumbling down again. It did manage to loosen the sand around his feet enough for him to break free, however. That much was good.
