OHHHHH
Oh. They could visit now? Ear wings perked up. "Wait, hey, I want to see all the castles too!"

Siren: OUT.

Everyone seemed quiet excited, it was good really, it was nice to know the team was still in high spirits! Even if she was practically blind at the moment. With Shehk patting her shoulder she guided her way to the build site proper flopping on her knees to poke at the ground with her right hand.

No sense trying to dig with a hand of bones; sand would fall right out!

So the ghoul set about her work crawling in a circle hand scooping sand out, reaching it smoothing the edges best she could before they eventually attempted to add water. She went about the task slowly humming to herself as she dug till Siddie came over.

"Eh break it?" She shook the coconut in her hands curiously before scooting away from the moat. She didn't want to risk breaking it. "Ya'll found some odd stuff you know. Prickly little things, a fuzzy nut thing, and Shehk is that a fish?" She chuckled briefly before she set the coconut down cracking it in half easily with a strike from her fist. With that done she went back to her duty.

Round and round the Sammy went digging a moat till she was finally done, rolling over to flop on her back.

The others started on the castle and when she could she helped out. Timidly actually as it was still a pain to see, everything was too bright and even after her eyes adjusted it still hurt to look with them fully open. "It looks good..." She paused, "At least from what I can see." She moved backwards to get a better view with squinted eyes at their finished product.

"I'm with the Siren though. We need to add a village sometime. Like a whole town or something." She grinned, had it not been a test for Famine today would actually be a pretty awesome day.

The question is what would happen next?

"W-wait S-shehk don't go!" She flailed a hand after the other ghoul taking a few steps before faceplanting in the sand, another coconut strikes again. When she finally sat up she had the saddest look on her face.

"Guys... I think I got sand in my eyesocket...." she practically whimpered before shaking her head about trying to dislodge the itchy bits of sand.

Siddie supervised the placing of the coconut shell bits and giggled at the little crown on Sir Herring the Red; she stepped back to take a good look at the sandcastle once they were done. "That looks pretty good!" she decided.

"I wish I had sunglasses for you," she fussed at Sammy. When the zombie ghoul sat up, Siddie crouched down next to her, tilting Sammy's face so she could peer into Sammy's eyes. "You do have sand in there," she confirmed. "Hold still, I'll get it for you."

She carefully poked a finger into Sammy's eye socket and brushed the sand out of one, then the other. "There."

"I wish I had some too... never needed em back home. Sure some lights where a bother but this is just terrible." She brushed more of the sand off her jacket and pants continuing to kneel while Siddie tilted her head about to get a better look through the FEAR and into the eye sockets.

It was fairly easy to see actually, her FEAR had dimmed its self to small points of purple, translucent and clear showing the inside of the empty socket. What came next though caused Sammy to yelp and whine on par with Shehk when fussing.

"S-siddie hjsdkf that feels weird ew ew ew ew ew..." Being made of pure FEAR it was most sensitive part of her body. Having fingers poke through it? Ew ew ew ew ew ew and um ew.

Siddie finished brushing the sand out and took her hand back, giving Sammy a stern look. "You can complain about sand in your eyes or you can complain about fingers in your eyes," she admonished, "but not both."

Entering!

"She can, err, borrow mine," Barth offered, stepping gradually off the footpath. He only had the one pair, but the broad hat kept his eyes shaded. For once, he wasn't layered in piles of clothing. The beach was much warmer than the cool October air from home.

"I don't mind. ...Hello, Siddie. Sammy."

When it was finally done she would blink rappidly raising a boney finger just to the edge of her eyes to poke at them squirming slightly as she did. So weird and creepy.

"Fine I choose to complain bout sand which is now gone so I can fuss over the eye. EW It was weird and pokey and tingly and just auugugugghgh I don't wana have to do that again okay?"

She reached over tugging Siddie into a proper hug of thanks when a familiar boil wandered over. "Barth?" She turned away from Siddie cocking her head to the side before grinning, "Shades! Awesome!" She held out her hand's taking the sun glasses before fixing them on her face. Purple FEAR leaking out around the edges as her eyes flared back to a normal level.

"That is.... just so much better..." she turned around again moving over to the castle grinning, "This looks. At least twenty percent more awesome over the initial 100 I was giving it when I couldn't see it properly."

"Then don't get sand in your eyes again," Siddie advised. "Oh! Hi, Barth! That's good of you, thank you."

She smiled at the demon and tilted her head just a little. "Has your team finished a castle also?"

Barth smiled back, trying not to think too hard about the cameras.

"It's no trouble. And yes, we're through. I particularly like the spiky additions to your towers. They're err, intimidating, I think." And the purple was a nice touch. Barth was glad he'd worn a shirt. Four hours of building was running them into the heat of the day.

"Keeping cool, I hope?"

"Trying," Siddie said. "Well - staying out of the sun." She patted the handle of her parasol. "I'm just glad I have this. It's so ... so bright out here." She gave a little shiver, not entirely theatrical. "Couldn't we have built sandcastles on the Scarefari beach? All this sun."

"I don't know how the humans weather it," Barth said. It was certainly more...intense than their own orange sun. How they lived under it day in, day out was a mystery to him.

The beach itself was...well, not bad, honestly. The sand wasn't much for walking on, but was ideal for lying in. The sound of water lapping against the shore was gentle. Everything was warm, if bright, but with a hammock strung in the shade... he looked briefly and thoughtfully at the shore.

"A shame they couldn't have put us closer to the trees. Still, we've faced worse odds, I suppose. You err...have you seen your parents yet?"
PostPosted: Wed Mar 07, 2012 5:02 pm

"I guess they must be used to it," Siddie said dubiously. She wasn't quite sure how or why, when there were nice dark nights and caves and closets and cellars, but humans were a whole different sort of creature. Who could understand that?

"The trees are nice, though!" she agreed. Then she paused. "Except one of them threw a nut at me." She indicated the coconut halves strategically placed in the sand castle. "But we used it for building, so I guess that's all right."

At the question, her posture stiffened minutely. "It's not - the sort of thing they would attend," she said, and looked away. "All this light. They might be watching it on the skelevision, I don't know."

"Ah," Barth said, "my mum's here, somewhere. So, you know, be forewarned," he said in exaggeratedly threatening tones. "In case of a barrage of questions or hugs. Not necessarily in that order."

He cleared his throat.

"Well. I came here to wish you luck in the Trial, so," he carefully took her free hand, the one with his ring, and bent to lightly kiss the back.

"Good luck." He straightened, "And be sure to avoid unfriendly looking trees."

"I'll consider myself warned," Siddie said, and giggled.

She smiled at the courtly gesture, her posture unconsciously falling into the way she'd long been taught to hold herself, a silent expression of not-quite-shy flirtatiousness, her hand resting gracefully in his for a moment. It was a performance, complicated and subtle, required for navigating the sitting rooms and ballrooms and conference rooms both would be expected to inhabit - if things were to go as they'd been planned. "Good luck to you too," she said; out of direct range of the muckrophones, her voice held only simple friendliness. "I'll be careful. Go find a place to sit before you fall over, 'kay?"

Barth resisted the urge to just sink into the sand, and gave the footpath a long, unhappy look. "Yes, err, thank you, I will. It's only a little walk," he said the word with a certain amount of dread, "over. ...I won't overexert myself."

He could manage. Although his feet were killing him. And the sand was hot. He reluctantly shuffled his claws out of the cool undersand and back to the top of the beach.

"Good luck to you too, Sammy. Lucien." He said, smiling a little before he headed back to the path. He hoped the next part of the trial involved napping a bit.
