"My memories with you..."

As he walked, the watcher listened her movements from behind him. She was keeping a steady pace, not too far, not too close. She was doing something with her hands, but from the sounds of it, it was nothing he should be concerned with. His opinion may be a little biased at the moment, but he predicted that this wa going to be a long couple of nights. Granted, he didn't know much about this girl, but those whom he allowed in here were all the same. Poking into places they weren't meant to go, asking questions that weren't meant to ask. In one case, eating things one wasn't meant to eat, that particular memory was not at all pleasant, considering that the man had disobeyed his orders and instructions which lead to an avoidable death. They travelled for a good ten or so minutes before a clearing started to form, the trees branching off to one side or the other. Stopping as he entered the border of it, he nodded ahead. "This is where we will stay." He said bluntly. There in the middle of the clearing was a large tree. No, large was not an accurate word to describe it...this tree was gigantic. Towering over all the rest, it was easily twice as tall as the others and perhaps dozens of times wide. At the trunk, staring straight at them was a makeshift door, what appeared to be hanging oil lamps decorating the outside on branches and hollows. "A little cramped at times, admittingly, but it will suffice." He said, turning around to face the girl. He was not sure whether or not she was happy with the prospect of staying in a hollowed out tree, but he figured that it wouldn't matter, it was not about luxury in this part of the world. It was in this thought that he realised that it would be inevitable that they talked to one another at least a little, it would do them no good to just call eachother by whatever popped into their heads at the time. Although that was the rationale he was going for in his next string of words, he still felt that he was either going to regret this later on, or that it would just be a waste of breath. "Since we're going to be seeing eachother for a while....you can call me Artyom."

Fire looked at him and she thought his name over in her mind a few times. It was really a beautiful name one that made her enchanted by just the sound. She couldn't remember if she had introduced herself at all already so she said "You may call me Fire." and with that her gaze left him and turned to the tree she would be staying in. Her eyes went up to the top of it remembering seeing it from her window and always wanting to climb it as a child. It was why she wanted to save this forest so bad. She wanted to make sure all the wonders here were kept safe. Fire looked around once more at all the flowers and everything else around here that seemed so wondrous. Experience had taught her that she should look and never touch things especially after the warnings from Artyom. Fire looked at her host once more and she realized something she had been ignoring before. He was actually sort of attractive, and she shook the thoughts from her mind. This as not the time nor the place to be scoping out any future suitors.

"My memories with you..."

Artyom had to hide a slight wince from Fire as she said her name. Fire never went well with forests, that was glaringly obvious to anybody, it put him on edge seeing too much. Controlled fires such as the lanterns were fine, but anything that could potentially cause damage to his home was not on the list of things the forest dweller liked. He watched as her gaze shifted to the tree, he tilted his head just a little. The tree was one of the larger ones in this forest, no doubt that she had been able to see it within the walls of the nearby city. His gaze then travelled to where hers went, sweeping around their immediate environment for just a moment. Something told him that she was not intimidated by their surroundings, as she had yet to simply rush inside as quickly as possible. As her gaze started coming back to him, Artyom turned around and headed towards the door, opening it slowly and stepping inside. Once in, he turned to Fire, holding the door open for her. "The bedroom you will be staying in is on the second floor. It's not much but it's better than nothing." He said as he turned his gaze to the inside of the tree. The main floor was basically a living room and a kitchen all in one. It was also much more furnished than one would expect. Some wooden chairs, a table, even a bench with a clay water basin beside some shelves with similarly built plates, bowls and cutlery. In short, it wasn't too far off from a normal house, apart from the fact that it was in a giant tree. "If you want to wash up, there's a relatively clean pond nearby...the only thing is that it's difficult to traverse to and from there if you haven't done so before." He added, a little quieter than normal. He hoped that he wouldn't have to explain what that meant any further: if she felt the need to bathe, he'd have to be in the general vicinity. It's not that he would look, as attractive as she was it was just not in his nature to, but having him around could prove uncomfortable for her if she was truly paranoid about him being perhaps a couple of yards away whilst she was undressed. It was either that, risk getting absolutely lost, or go without bathing until she returned to civilisation. No matter what the choice, there would always be a downside, it was just a matter of what one was worse for Fire.

Fire walked into the house and examined her new surroundings her eyes taking it all in easily. She nodded to his words and ran a hand through her long brown hair feeling the mud in it. In the little light she knew she looked like a mess and wouldn't want that at all. She took the bows from her hair and thought it over for a moment, either she could get lost or she could trust him not to be a peeping tom. In truth she didn't have much of a choice. Fire didn't plan on going back to her kingdom and she knew nothing of whatever lay beyond the trees of this green wonderland. "I wouldn't mind if you showed me the way......I would be able to find my way back." she said to him her voice never loosing its confidence even if she was nervous about it. Her cheeks had turned slightly rosy with a blush at her own words and she would just shake off the feeling as best she could. In truth all she really needed was to rinse off her hair and face. Her dress had covered the rest of her easily and her change of clothes would be alright. Fire went to the stair case and she looked up it walking up it slowly to find her way to the bedroom he had mentioned. She stopped at one room she found, it looked lived in and used. The makeshift blankets were messy and the bed itself looked slept in recently. This was most likely his room, a small smile crept on Fire's face at a memory of home and how her twin's bed used to look. She walked on and found another room, this one wasn't slept in at all and seemed to be a little dusty from being underused. This must be the spare room. She walked in and closed the door as she stripped her dress examining her skin. It was still the clean paleness it had been under the garments and she nodded slightly. Fire dressed herself in her change of clothes, a black button up and a pair of black trousers. The outfit of a male thief and one that was distinct to most people.

"My memories with you..."

Artyom raised an eyebrow as Fire spoke, he was doubtful that being able to find her way out herself would be possible with little damage. He thought he saw a slight shade of pink appear around the girl's cheeks, but as she turned away and began to ascend the staircase, he figured that he was just seeing things. Looking to the kitchen area, an irritating thought occurred: he would have to be cooking for two for a bit. As much as he disdained outsiders, he was not cruel, he knew that forcing her to feed herself would be counterproductive. With a heavy sigh, he walked over to the water basin and looked into it. From his reflection, he could see splotches of dirt and grit along his face. It wasn't as glaringly obvious as Fire's, but he still found it more noticeable than usual. It was strange, normally he would have just shrugged and walked away, but he felt...unpresentable. His brows furrowed slightly, why was he conccerned about this? That particular thought was shrugged off instead as Artyom reached into the basin and brought some water up to his face. Quickly washing the noticeable patches away before drying his face with a nearby teatowel. Once done, he walked over to the staircase, paused, then knocked on the railings so that she could hear. "You're not against vegetarian dishes are you?" He called out, although it would be a 'too bad' situation if she was. Although there were many animals within the forest, some considered delicacies in other kingdoms, he dared not harm any of them. He was their protector after all, what sort of guardian would he be if he killed and ate them?

Fire herd him and she opened the door and looked down at him. "I am a vegetarian." she said to him with a small smile. Most people thought her odd when she didn't eat the very meats she prepared for the clients. But she did raise the creatures from their youngling state and had to kill them. It made her loose her appetite a bit to often. She had fixed her hair so it was pulled out of her face and had it up in a pony tail bound by her ribbons. She looked at him and noticed he had cleaned his face up a bit, his skin looked a bit better and once more her cheeks turned the slightest rosy color at the sight of it. She found herself noticing much more about him the longer she stayed with him. It was true, he was attractive...and she cursed herself for noticing.

"My memories with you..."

Artyom looked up at her with seemingly unfeeling eyes, but deep down he was a little relieved. In all honesty, the thought of slaughtering an innocent creature and watching someone eat it was more than a little nauseating to him. It was then that he caught the smile she cast him. It was small, but nontheless it seemed captivating, perhaps even a little hypnotic. He had noticed right away that she had her hair pulled back, but it was only now that he was really taking in the facial features of the girl who he had seen as a tresspasser not too long ago. There was no denying that she was rather attractive, but to Artyom's shocked dismay, his thoughts went as far as saying that she was quite beautiful...what was going on with him? Before it seemed like he was staring, he noticed the small blush on her face and immediately turned his gaze away to appear as if he had no interest on looking at her for much longer. Part of him was a little nervous that she had caught him staring, but he couldn't do anything about that now. She was different from the other few women who had stumbled upon this place, forever complaining about one thing or another. "Good." He said simply before looking up at her again. "I'm going to go and collect tonights' dinner...stay here and don't touch anything that you shouldn't. If you're unsure about whether something is safe or not to touch or use, just assume that it's not." He added before heading to the front door. He was admittingly being a little cold, he didn't necessarily like to be, but he found that it often achieved significantly better results than being too friendly and unrestrictive.

Fire nodded to his instructions and she watched him leave. Once he had left she let out a breath she didn't notice she was holding and she felt her body finally relax. She closed her eyes and leaned on a wall for support. She thought everything over, the past events. She couldn't shake the feeling that Artyom's coldness was a bit..out of character for him. Though she had only just met him she still felt that there was more to him then he was letting her see. "Was he...staring?" she thought to herself and blushed remembering how he had looked at her. For some reason her chest tightened and she took a few breaths before it loosened again. Fire opened her eyes finally and looked around her once more. She began to quietly and carefully look at everything not touching but examining. She did ant to know more about him but she hesitated to enter his room not knowing if he had secrets that she should not see. She caught herself thinking this and shook her head, she was a thief, the invasion of personal space hadn't bothered her before. She sighed wondering why it was bugging her so bad now. Fire turned and went back to her room and went to the bed. She laid down over the blankets feeling a sense of tired wash over her, she closed her eyes and slowly drifted off to sleep. A bit of hair fell in her face as she slept and her whole appearance seemed rather innocent.

"My memories with you..."

As Artyom entered the forest, taking to the treetops for ease of movement and vision, his mind was well beyond distracted. As much as he hated to acknowledge it, those thoughts were of Fire. He had never seen someone so attractive, yet also held a will and courage seen only in so very few. She appeared unintimidated by him, nor insulted by the way he distanced himself from her. It was strange and confusing, but it also made him curious. As he let his thoughts get carried away, his foot slipped on one of the branches, taking his body with it as it began a quick descend. "Woah!" He exclaimed before extending his hand out towards the tree. Just like earlier, a sort of vine extended from the top of his wrist, almost whip-like in appearance, and wrapped around the branch. Using it as a rope-swing, he managed to propel himself back up and land on another branch, he looked down to the ground. Had he not been able to do what he could, it would have been a near fatal drop, he shook his head rapidly. "Pull yourself together...she's a tresspasser, she won't be staying long." His thoughts told himself. Deciding to agree, he continued towards his hidden vegetable patch. It was large but, by design, close to impossible to access if Artyom wasn't around. After a few minutes of deciding and picking, he grabbed what they would need and made his way back to the tree, careful not to let his thoughts almost kill him again. More minutes passed and soon he had arrived, hands filled with various vegetables, he decided that soup would be the best thing to make tonight considering it wouldn't be dinner for one tonight.

Fire was lost in her dreams. She had faded from her place, she was no longer in that tree house but she was in the forest. In her dreams Fire lay staring through a break in the canopy at a blue sky with birds singing all around her. She smiled up at the sky and the flowers seemed to dance around her, then the sky suddenly turned black with smoke and all around her was slowly turning to ash. The peace she had felt int hat place was gone and by the time she had sat up the only thing around her was fire. She screamed but her lungs filled with smoke and she fell to the ground once more. Fire looked up through the flames that were slowly going near her and through them she saw him. The guardian in the flames burning before her very eyes. Fire woke up with a start sitting up quickly and knocking her things from the foot of the bed. They hit the ground making a few thuds loud enough to be herd on the bottom level. Fire held her head in her hands for a moment trying to calm her heart beat from the dream gone nightmare.

"My memories with you..."

Artyom had just settled the ingredients down on the bench when he heard the commotion from upstairs, his eyes shot up to the staircase immediately. Part of him thought it was just Fire doing something stupid and disobeying orders, but the other, larger part didn't recognise what had been dropped. Guessing that something was wrong, he stopped what he was doing before heading quickly upstairs. As soon as he was in the bedroom Fire was sleeping in. his gaze immediately found her on the bed, she looked distressed. Sweeping his gaze across the room, he found her belongings on the floor, that must have been what she knocked over. Letting go of a breath he started holding at somepoint, he slowly walked over to the side of the bed. "Are you alright?" He asked.
