Jett blinked, rather surprised that such a young girl would be requesting an antique store. Most often he saw only lost, pompous, or bored old people come in as customers. It was rare to find someone anywhere near his age wander in—and Millicent certainly didn’t count, as she was quite an odd case.
“Yeah, actually. You’re a block and a half away from one,” he said, gesturing towards the way he’d come from. “Hours are nine to five, but if you don’t make it in today, I’ll still be there until seven tomorrow, so you can pop in until then. We usually get lots of trinkets—dolphins, you said? There’s probably at least a handful of dolphin accented somethings lying around. My boss has a lot of people that come to him with certain peculiar tastes, so he’s gotten into the habit of keeping a little bit of everything around. But, just in case. There are two other antique stores relatively nearby. Dunno about pawn shops, the only one I know about closed down a year or so ago.”

"Oh, no, if you work at an antique shop then I'd like to go to the one that supports you," Gwen said at the mention of the other two antique shops, wondering what kind of luck she'd have to come across someone that not only knew where one was but worked there as well! Considering the day, no, the week she's had thus far, she definitely felt that her luck was making a turn for the better, twisted ankle and everything. "Think of it was a way for me to repay you for saving Micah and knocking that guy out for me..." She had wanted to go there now, but she could no longer deny the throbbing pain in her ankle. And it seemed that her time was up, as a little diddy could be heard coming from the purse, and Gwen's face almost paled when she recognized the ringtone. She groaned, unzipping the purse and shifting around the oversized rat to answer it, and she apologized to Jett before bringing it to her ears. "And that would be Maddy. Sorry, just a second..." She didn't even pretend to act sick, though she could feel the urge to sneeze wanting to come, if only to gain some sympathy from her sister. "Hey... yeah, you noticed? Guess I'm not as stealthy as I thou... look, I'm sorry, but something came up. It's over now, though." After a few moments of silence, she glanced at Jett nervously, then chuckled, and hung up without saying goodbye. She may have had the phone on the opposite ear but she was certain that Jett heard Maddy's angered shouts, and she gave a shrug. "Jig's up. I'll just have to get her gift later. But thank you so much... I'll definitely be swinging by your shop, probably tomorrow or the next day, depending on how my ankle feels. What's it called?"

Jett watched Gwen for a moment longer and then flashed a small smile. “All right. Well you take it easy. I’ve got nothing better to do than suck in dust all day, so unless you change you’re mind, I guess I’ll see you later. The shop?” he prompted, "JW Antiques. Big old sign out front and a window full of pretty looking junk. You really can't miss it. It's right next to the pet store down that way."
He had heard the voice on the phone--the words weren't easy to make out, but he could tell by the volume that Gwen was probably in trouble. As much as he liked to pester, annoy and tease, he figured Gwen had already had a bad enough day and figured he’d cut her a break. Taking one last swig of his orange juice, he screwed the cap back on and tucked it back into the bag on his arm as he stood. As was habit, he brushed his hand off on the leg of his pants and then extended it to the girl in a silent offer to help her up. “Good luck with her. And getting home in one piece,” he nodded towards her ankle. “It was nice to meet you—and Micah,” he added, purely as a formality.

Gwen accepted his aid, knowing better than to even TRY hiding her injury at this point and she hoped that her smile didn't reflect the smallest bit of annoyance in herself for having to be the damsel in distress. Instead, she tucked her purse under her arm and give Micah an affection scratch behind the ears as he kept his beady little eyes firmly on Jett, whatever thoughts it had or a rat MIGHT have were a mystery to them both. "Our Micahs should probably meet one day in the future. Maybe I'll see her at your store soon?" She said the name of the store out loud, more of a way to remind herself than anything else, and she was able to retrieve her shoe without falling over at least. "JW Antiques... yeah, I'll be sure to remember it. I'll definitely swing by once I take care of my ankle. It's the least I could do to thank you!" Gwen gave his hand another squeeze before pulling herself away, limping back towards the bus stop and this time practically clinging to her purse this time. Once Jett was out of his site, the oversized rat hiffed and retreated back into the purse, completely uninterested, and Gwen gave Jett one last wave. "Thanks again! I'll see you soon, I promise!" 'I might have to make it a habit to go to the JW Antiques... if not for the trinkets but to see him.' Gwen thought to herself and only to herself, hugging onto her purse and only letting her rather devlish smile deepen when she turned away from him entirely. 'Sure, that Micah might be his special someone, but it can't hurt to look, right?'What wasn't to like about Jett? Besides his stunning good looks, he was also a gentleman, and one that could take care of himself and come to the rescue of a young girl and her pet rat. 'I'll find a way to repay him... soon, too!'

Jett glanced after the girl, watching to make sure that she made it to the bus all right. It wasn’t that he felt any overwhelming sympathy or compassion for the girl—it was rather difficult for him to feel much of late, given how deeply this sickness had stricken him. He was, however, willing to linger just long enough to make sure she at least made it.
He couldn’t be displeased with how the day had turend out, even if it did leave him outside more than he had wanted to be. Not only had he met an attractive, charming girl—far too young for him to have romantic feelings for, though pretty enough that he could appreciate it, but he had also gotten to slug someone and had done a little advertising.
It was as good a day as he was going to get with his luck like this. He turned, feeling satisfied—and promptly returned home, eager to curl into bed and just sleep.
