Of course it was an enviable match. Time was money, as the old saying went. Isambard did not have time to waste teaching someone about his realm. It was inefficient.
Ifan watched Greed tap the stone and swallowed, his mouth suddenly felt rather dry.
"Into service?" He was not sure he wanted to know the answer to the question he was about to ask. "What do you mean?"

"Isambard will - well, perhaps he will become one with you. Perhaps he will take your mind entire. It is his choice, and I would not presume to speak for him." Phaedra sketched a half-bow towards Ifan, though it was truly meant for the god working his way through the boy's mind, even now. "To manufacture a god, one requires three things: the essence of the divine." She tapped her own gem again. "The flesh and soul of a mortal." She pointed at Ifan.
"And the passage of time. Can you create something so worthy in those factories of yours?"

Ifan no longer thought this such a fun game. Walking among gods, flirting with Greed. Her words chilled him beyond his bones to his core, he stared down at his hand. His mind going to Xun, the god who spoke like a man but looked much like a woman.
"I will become him?" He asked the question as much to himself as to her.
"If that thought makes you feel better." The god within him replied as it made itself at home. Comsume would be the chosen word. The mortal was, as Greed suggested merely fuel for rebirth.

"He will become himself." Phaedra's smile was completely predatory. "Think of yourself as a... resource. Industry requires such things, does it not? But come, Ifan, how much must such a very simple concept be explained? You know from your own work that creating something new requires the consumption of something old. You would not stand in the way of progress, would you?"

"Progress?" Maybe for the god. He did not see his death as progress. Not on any level. He supposed he should be flattered, to be fuel for a god. He thought of matyrs, sacrificing themselves for what they believed.
"No I suppose I wouldn't." Wasn't that why he came in the first place. His eyes went to his hand. If it was true there was nothing much he could do about it.
"That's it then." Death warrent signed and sealed. "Thank you." He smirked a little. "It has been a pleasure ... if not entirely pleasant."

"Hm." A fair way to face one's demise. She bowed back to him, her tail sweeping in cocky flourish. "Likewise. I am sure we will be seeing each other again soon... won't we?"
Was that meant for god or host? It was hard to tell.

Ifan bowed his head politely and did not miss the possibility that her words were meant for the god within him.
"Perhaps." He said, looking up and giving her a cocky grin.

The amused purr would be inaudible to Ifan, but it was there just the same, a low vibration in her throat as she smiled. "Onward, then, to the new frontiers you so enjoy. Be honored, if you wish to see it so: few are granted this path. Farewell."
With that, she turned, not looking back as she walked out of the Pantheon, going down a different way than she thought Ifan was headed. How very interesting... and how fortunate that she hadn't drawn him close into her confidences. Another Glyph would have been so very irritating.
She would have to meet this Isambard later, and see if that greed and hunger sourced in Ifan's nature had a kin in the god's as well.
