Jerry stared at her in horror... and immediately pulled out his phone. Alright, just calm down, calm down... at this rate, he'd never get it cleaned up, oh hell, he saw Jordan leaving early but... but... his options for friends were really slim. Hopefully... he wouldn't mind? Prolixity Jordan: Emergency! Emergency! Need a hand in Caelius's room please please be discrete! That sent, he went back to sorting papers with a whine. Rin shrugged and set to work sorting through several more papers. Slow but steady in her progress she set aside one completed folder and seemed pretty far along in another.
She didn't understand why Jerry was so frantic. Then again, she'd not met Cael yet.

Okay, that made much more sense. Jordan changed course, relieved. Still trouble, but not as much trouble. Bilious Makes much more sense. I'll be there in a few. When he walked into the room, he took in the situation at a glance. Yeah, this probably counted as an emergency. He bent immediately to the task of picking up papers and folders. "Jeez, dude. When's he going to be back? Do you have any idea?" ((Papers sorted: 16 sheets / 1 folder))

Rin paused her efforts to give Jerry a very baffled stare at the squeaking noise he had made.
"Not going to pull something are you?" She wondered aloud in his direction. Sitting back to eye him over evenly.
Seriously, what the hell was wrong with this guy? It was just a bunch of paper. An easy mistake.
Then Jordan joined them and she gave him a quiet thoughtful stare. Maybe it was more dire than she had thought. Maybe.

Jerry looked a mess, still not having time to change out of his black robes as he glanced desperately from one girl to the next who had shown up to help him, "I w-was just dropping off some papers!" He moaned for what felt like the hundredth time. "I... I don't know where he is! But... but I bumped his pile and..." They had managed tog et a couple files re-straightened, but the more he read, the paler his face got. "There's... a lot... of casualties in these..." His voice had dropped down as he paused while reading one of the reports.

Jordan nodded to Rin. "Thanks for helping out," he said. At Jerry's statement, though, he paused to take a closer look at the files he held. Deaths. A lot of them. 1990 to 1995 ... he'd been a little kid then. It was surreal to think of that; while he'd still been telling his parents there was a shadow in the closet, Hunters had been fighting and dying ... which was a logical conclusion, of course, but it felt strange.
He scooped up more papers to put them away, skimming each as he picked it up. "Looks like it was pretty dire back then," he said, frowning. The maps and clippings on the wall looked interesting, but investigating that could wait until they'd gotten the papers picked up.

"No problem." Rin smiled in reply. Though... Jerry's words got her curious. The next page she lifted she just quietly sat and read over and over with a thoughtful frown.
They weren't kidding. It was pretty shocking really. Here she thought the biggest danger to their lives was each other... when really, no. Things happened. People died.
She sat looking dismayed at the thought for a bit before finally shaking the sinking thoughts and deftly tucking the paper where it belonged.
"Well. Here's hoping we don't join the list if what Jerry says about this... Keel...sus?.. person is true." She remarked as she set back to work sorting.

As Rin examined one of the papers closer, she would notice the date - 1997, different from most of the others in the pile. Instead of a large copy of text, there were only the words in the mission copy summary:
Everyone is dead. I did not arrive at the Lair until later. Thirty trainees, five Hunters, deceased. The bodies were burned, disfigured.
Though most of the papers Jordan picked up were relatively informative, if not grim, speaking of omens and cursed signs, there was one however, in the pile, dated at an odd date of 1998. The most interesting thing as well about the paper was that there was no entry in the name, the writing on the paper thick and blotchy, covered out in parts. Mission Report Summary - lied to us. He said we were going in to rescue a team. We went in, and were ambushed. By the Four Clans - by - themselves. We did not even stand a chance, all - Hunters died from the attack. Did he also know what most Lairs really were? Did he know that the Lair was a trap, the - waiting for us to step in, so they could use us in their sick factory. Oh god, not just Hunters, regular humans, they were all strapped in - like cattle - they are farming us for Fear. I pray for their swift deaths. The other most notable piece on the ground was a manila folder marked 1999. There were no reports that were dated at 1999. OOC - Anyone else can still come to the room (or be invited) as needed, until all the papers are cleared, but be sure to read the GM instructions on the first page!

Intersting the report came from when she was a young girl and from someone of her own division, but she didn't know who the Four Clans could be. "This report talks of the Four Clans and to me it sounds like it could be the horsemen maybe and it sounded like a dangerous mission too" she said to all that were there. Tori quickly picked up more of the papers as she didn't even know when Caelius would be back and it would be good to be cleaned up and gone by then.
Picking a few more papers up and sticking them in the folder and she total wanted to know if what she had said about the Four Clans were right and she looked at the papers that she had in her hand.

Quietly Tori cleaned up more of the papers that had been scattered as it looked like they were all getting them all cleaned up and she had been listening to what the others had been saying as she had been cleaning up. "Also the report said, that they had been fighting a Fear abnormality that could be a swarm of abnormal locusts and they had team members injured and one death they knew of," she said cleaning up more papers.

"I thought... they said there was some sort of treaty or something? We had those er... young horsemen here before-" Suddenly, it occurred to Jerry he didn't remember if they STILL had them in their custody or not. He... thought they were gone? They hadn't been back to watch them yet, and what short period he had spent with at least one of them had been... unpleasant.
"What... what bothers me is... is all of these... you know..." He sniffed, calming down a bit with the distraction of curiosity, "Locusts and... and poisonings and things? Is this Halloween's doing?"

Jordan studied the barely legible report, unsettled by what it contained. The Horsemen were farming Fear? Had that stopped? Why would it? Yet more disturbing was the beginning of the segment. Who exactly had lied to the writer? Someone had sent a team of Hunters into a trap. How had the writer escaped, or had they?
He slipped the report back into the 1998 folder and looked up. "Halloween's doing? Or the Horsemen?" he asked. "The Horsemen don't seem to be completely in line with the rest of the freaks. Conquest said something about a test failed." He grimaced. "I didn't catch much of what he said, though. Too much pain."
Somewhat distractedly, he put away a few more files as he spoke.

Rin dug through her papers with abandon when she suddenly stumbled upon... oh... oh s**t...
After putting the others away she held the sheet up while announcing, "Thirty-five people died?! Burned?..."
Her voice drifted off at the thought before carefully filing it away under 1997 where it belonged.
"I... are we stumbling on something we shouldn't know about?" Her tone was distant as she set to work on another pile of papers.
