The Living Force Really wish the fandom had settled for a name for Fluttershy's dark form that wasn't contemptuously misogynistic. Need to watch the epp, but I've been busy watching Lord of the Rings. And sleeping. And setting the ED on fire. Ah hell.

Well yeah, I don't like the name actually, especially sense ponies are about happiness and love stuff and good things and whatnot, and it's highly inappropriate for multiple reasons including that it doesn't fit the character really at all but! I don't think we need to go into a moral and philosophical debate about the potential validity of it's relation to woman and more about how it's just a poor name for a character and doesn't really fit. 3nodding I like the enthusiasm though. Must be dem fruity loops. We just need you to start eating some more meat.

Oh damn. You got to get that B12 and Vitamin D somehow- and it has to be dietary- supplements can work, but the tricky thing about vitamin D is that is HAS to be dietary- you can eat the powdered stuff but, it's just not that good. I recommend fish, although fish tends to have a lot of mercury- for that I recommend eating it like, idk, at least once per weak, cause it's got like 385 UI and there's no reason not to eat it. Also protein- gotta have that protein. Avacadoes, kale, and nuts are your friend- actually, an Avacado kale salad with almonds and shiz isn't that bad- get some strawberry vinegerete stuff, maybe some other ranches, dang that stuff can be good. Course, very few people actually buy such things and they can be hard to find, but Tom thumb tends to have some pretty good produce. I recommend some fish and milk, and probably vitamins anyways. Never really get those vegetarian things- eating meat is pretty awesome, and there really aren't any health benefits- why, humans only started farming about 10,000 years ago, before that the only things we had to eat were meat and a few nuts, berries, and fish and whatnot. And fruits- lots of fruits, but sense we left Africa for whatever reason we stopped doing that on a regular basis about a million years ago. But, a bad diet can kill a person, it's probably one of the most important things ever- I mean, daily sustenance and all that, THE MOST IMPORTANT THING EVAH. Also, make sure to get salt- you tend to lose that on a vegetarian diet. Bout it I suppose. And we're talking about ponies, I doubt "b***h" was intended as a jest against woman in a subtle form of misogyny, more or less just a colloquial use of a misplaced word- but yes, such things are bad. I don't even swear in real lifes. I only do it online for comedic effect anyways. 3nodding

The reason for doing it is consciousness. Your response reminded me of people who get huffy about hybrid cars; "You'll never make up the money you spent on the car just by buying less gas." I'd buy a hybrid or electric car because of the ecological impact, not the money. With food, it's not about health benefits. Don't really care about that, I know enough about food and cooking to ensure proper nutrition, and I'm getting creative enough with my chefcraft to do fun stuff with ingredients. But most importantly, I've been a vegetarian before. It's not that hard at all.

Don't really care about that, I know enough about food and cooking to ensure proper nutrition, and I'm getting creative enough with my chefcraft to do fun stuff with ingredients. But most importantly, I've been a vegetarian before. It's not that hard at all. The environmental impact will be negligible. As a matter of fact the nicest thing you can do is get rid of cows that produce methane and take up space in the most efficient way possible- this would be consuming their biomass in order to translate it into useable energy for the human body in terms of sustenance- that's the best way to to stick it to those polluting cows. But ignoring health benefits is more or less setting yourself for a lot of problems- I mean, why not eat nothing, that would theoretically reduce the use of all farming and such things and eliminate all problems. I mean, I'm not suggesting you do it, I'm suggesting that at some point you have to do what's possible and reasonable for the time. And whether you can or cannot is irrelevant, it's a matter of what you should or should not do, at least in terms of sustaining yourself adequately. 3nodding And you can get about 10,000 UI's of Vitamin D in 10 minutes of regular exposure to sunlight- but yet it's still recommended you get quite a bit from diet. Why? Well, it's not really used the same- Vitamin D has a lot of purposes and only producing it in your skin means that it's uses will be limited for the rest of the body. It attaches calcium and phosphorous to bones, helps regulate various things in the body (much like a hormone, it's actually considered a hormone) helps you to digest food and more importantly differentiation and apoptosis of cells; calcitriol also affects neuromuscular function and inflammation, which is converted by your liver and kidneys and whatnot. Another thing is the immune system- it's thought to play a large roles in fighting influenza (the common cold, among other things) and is seen to provide some kind of resistance to HIV- course the HIV thing is mostly unverified and it's effects are marginal but! Vitamin D has a lot of uses and not all of it can be produced by sunlight, and that which does will not necessarily reach every part of the body it needs to and a lot of it is wasted anyways. Long story short the biologically active version has to be converted into calcidiol by the liver when it's then converted into calcitriol in the bloodstream, and it simply is more difficult to do with just the Vitamin D from sunlight- it's drastically easier when it's metabolized like everything else, and it won't always metabolize the way you like- eat food while in the sun maybe, idk. ._. But it's a hard thing to control which is why Vitamin D is recommended in large quantities in the diet. Now regular programmed cell aptosis is important for a lot of things including preventing cancer but this is only in certain parts of the body- well, it's gets pretty complicated... But, also importantly, it's more or less a message system, like any other hormone, or so it's considered- Vitamin D in the intestinal tract tells the body to absorb the Vitamin D and do other such regulatory things, which it simply won't do if it's not in the intestine. For much the same way testosterone regulates things but does not necessarily provide any real benefit, per say. Just like the electrical synapses in your nervous system, they serve little actual purpose and have little real value (the chemicals in your muscle are responsible for movement, for instance, the electrical impulses don't really add strength or anything) but are just a medium for communication- just like words, or the internet, one might say. It's not like the electricity powers the muscles or anything. Anyways, getting into things that is best left to wikipedia, vitamin D is an important thing to have and some of it needs to come from both the sun and diet.
