Lexi sighed in relief as Brutus leaned back and resumed watching. For a moment, she was worried that he might try and stop the sparring session again. She didn’t want to be responsible for that happening. As she waited for the other two Poké-kids to start, she absent mindedly launched brightly colored, leaf shaped lights, back and forth between her hands.
Sasha nodded happily at Yotta’s question. “Yep! I know how to punch and kick!” It was about to start, she knew it! All the practicing at home, well with herself, as Lexi wouldn’t spar with her. Any chance of that happening was likely knocked away when her roommate saw her learn Earthquake. The other girl did not want to be on the receiving end of a punch that could do that. She watched with curiosity as the Meowth grabbed the foam covered mitts and listened to his explanation. She guessed that he wanted to better gauge her abilities, before they actually started sparring. “Ok, I will give it a shot,” she replied as she stretched a moment, first rolling her shoulders, then rotating side to side, and finally stretching her arms out behind her; she was ready. Looking intently at the target, her expression became serious and she entered into her stance. Her left foot was forward and her right was placed in back. She made a first with each hand, and raised them up in front of her, blocking her face. Breathing in deeply, she dropped her right fist to her waist and then, as she stepped forward with her right foot, she launched and rotated her iron fist at the target. When she initially decided to spar, she had decided to not go full strength; at full strength she could make the earth shake. However, since she was punching at a padded target, she did punch harder then she had initially planned to; it wasn’t full strength, but it was close.

Both Yotta and Brutus were impressed at the fact that Sasha had been doing her research. "NICE!" The cat Pokeboy grinned widely. He shook his hand that Sasha had hit and chuckled to himself. Her punch had left a nice tingling, but nothing that hurt him. "So, it looks like you already know the basics! I'mma go get my gear, I'll be right back!" Yotta was excited to spar someone other than Brutus for once. It wasn't that he didn't like sparring with Brutus, but since his change, it was kinda hard to spar a lot of the Pokemon. Regardless, Yotta immediately ran off to his room, to grab his stuff.
"No offense intended, but your friend is better than I originally thought she would me." Brutus commented low enough for just Alexis to hear. "Most that come through with such unbridled energy as hers think there is little to sparring, or, even to throwing a proper punch or kick. I must say I am impressed."
Yotta returned in little time, clad in a white set of sparring gear. He bounded over to Sasha and motioned to follow him out into the center of the floor, away from the cabinets and on to the padded section. "Um, so, since you don' 'ave a mouth guard, we should probably steer clear of head shots. 'Kay? But keep you head gear on, just in case you fall or anything." He squared up against Sasha, bringing his hands up in front of his face in a guard. "Any questions before we start?"

“Well,” Lexi replied, “Sasha can, on occasion, take things seriously. And she has been practicing a lot, on her own.” Then, after thinking about it for a moment, she added, “Actually, I think this is the only thing I have seen her take seriously.” She wasn’t 100% certain that that was true, only about 95%, but still, that was close enough for her to be willing to comment on it. Sasha had been training for a while; she was glad that she would be able to see her spar for the first time.
Sasha was all smiles as Yotta grabbed his gear; she couldn’t wait to finally be doing this! She happily followed him onto the padded section and replied, “Ok! No head shots! Check!” Just to double check, she brought her hands up to her head gear and tugged slightly, this way and that; it was secure. As Yotta squared up against her, she raised her hands up, in front of her face and squared off against Yotta, bouncing slightly on the balls of her feet. She was excited to finally begin. Shaking her head, she answered, “Nope. No more questions.”

"Okay," He slowly put a mitted hand out, towards Sasha, "Bump mah hand, it's a sign of greeting when you're all padded up like dis." When that was commenced, Yotta brought his arm back up to guard his face and shifted quickly so more of his side was facing Sasha, giving her less to hit unless she came in with any sweeping movements, which were easier to see. He dropped his front fist a bit, so it'd be more in place to guard his midsection while his back hand stayed up to block his face. Even though they agreed on no head shots, this was his stance, and even with different rules, it was hard to deviate from it. His chipper smile was replaced with a serious, calculating stare as he watched Sasha with unnerving eyes. He tended to let his opponent make the first move, he liked to see how they fought before he made any moves.

Doing as he said, Sasha extended her mitted hand and bumped his with hers. Breathing in deeply, she squared off her stance. Her left foot forward, she rose up onto the balls of her feet, and bounced up and down slightly. She was both excited and a bit nervous. Exhaling, she brought her first up in front of her face, her left slightly higher. Behind her, her tail waived back and forth eagerly, the occasional droplet of water flying from it.
From the viewing mats, Lexi called out, “Good luck Sasha!”
A smile creeping across her face, Sasha suddenly unleashed a light jab with her left. It wasn’t a serious attack; she was just testing the water.

Yotta easily batted her punch away with his higher hand. He knew that very few opponents would ever throw the first hit and mean it... it was normally used as a test to see how the other person reacted. Likewise, Yotta brought his front foot up and popped it forward quickly, in a front kick. Brutus watched from the sidelines carefully, this was more a test of Yotta's control than it was to see who was better.

As Yotta kicked his foot forward, Sasha sidestepped, to the outside, and attempted to wrap her arm around his leg, keeping her free arm in a defensive position, in front of her.
Lexi sat, cross-legged, over the mat, and watched, giving it her full attention.

Sasha managed to grab hold of his leg, but not in the best way for her (granted, it's hard to get a good grip while in pads). Without much thought, relying solely on instinct, Yotta hopped up and spun, aiming his other foot towards Sasha's chest and awaiting blocking arm. This maneuver worked very well for him, for freeing up a caught leg... which happened frequently.

Seeing his free foot rising up to kick her, Sasha released Yotta's trapped foot and brought both of her stony forearms up to block the kick. Her feet planted, she braced herself.

Yotta's foot slammed into the blocking forearms of Sasha. Thankfully, his feet were padded, taking the brunt of the blow from her stony extremities. Landing was a little awkward; his originally trapped foot landed on the mats first. But he wasn't balanced well, so one of his hands caught him as he fell. His next move would have to be quick, Sasha would probably be on the offensive now.

After shaking off the impact of Yotta’s foot, which, due to a combination of her natural stoniness and his padding, didn’t seem to faze her, Sasha saw her opening. Yotta had landed weird and was off balance. Taking a step towards him, she launched right fist at his torso, keeping her left up in a defensive position.

The punch landed in Yotta's midsection due to an odd turn. But it was all part of his plan. As soon as Sasha's fist connected, Yotta latched on, rolling as his body fell, trying to bring Sasha off her feet.

Catching her by surprise, Yotta succeeded in knocking Sasha off her feet, but, partially in thanks to her monkey like agility, she turned it into a roll, flipping over her right shoulder and then springing back to her feet. Quickly spinning around, she brought her hands up in defense for the next attack.

Yotta had let go of Sasha's arm with enough momentum to get a better footing. A devious smirk crossed his face as he pushed off the ground, flying at her with a powerful flying, front kick.

Luckily, Sasha had brought up her hands as soon as she spun around, otherwise, if she had delayed, she would have likely not been able to react in time. She wasn’t able to negate the attack, but at least the blow was somewhat buffered. Unfortunately, her footing wasn't at sure as it could of been. The force of the blow made her stumble backwards and fall onto her bum, with her arms still up in defense. She was unhurt, but the blow had surprised her.
