It is one of things that is taught when you learn about seduction. As much as a game as it is a dance. It was something that was pretty much exclusive to Eglantine house. They were known for their little oddities as well as their genius. A way to find out about a patron's nature and what they respond to. I prefer other ways, but I thought you could appreciate it.

There is definitely appeal in all of the above, Rio agreed, tilting his head towards Leo's hand. Their dancing lesson seemed to be at an end, so what now? Would you like to stay in today, or would you rather meet some more friends of mine?
They had been 'staying in' a lot, so...maybe he'd like to get out?

Meeting friends sounds good. There is always time for other things later. His hand turned to cup Rio's cheek before he leaned in to steal quick kiss. Besides, how am I to get better at another language if I don't practice, hn?

"Good point. Maybe I should stop talking in yours for awhile?" He grinned, half-teasing and half-serious. "It just sounds so lovely, it's hard to stop."
"Hm. You'd like Iden, I think- aah, but I keep forgetting, she'll be asleep now, with the sky returned. There's Ffy, Ashoka...hmm." Maybe not Ashoka, yet. The Prophet might be a bit much. "Ffy, I think."
"Shall we?" Rio held out a hand.

"Understandably." Rio smiled happily to be called by his 'newest' name, and with Leo's hand in his, led him out the door and down the stairs. At the base of the steps, he paused. "There are a few spots she likes, so it might take a little looking, but..."
Thinking on where his 'feathered friend' might be in the late morning, he started to head towards the forest.

Leo looked around as they walked. He spent so much time practically being Rio's shadow he hadn't taken the time to actually explore the surrounding areas much. The D'Angeline took mental notes of places to come back and take a look at another time.
"Hn...? Okay." Clearly his attention had been elsewhere until Rio spoke to him again. "Can I ask who.." Or what. "we're looking for?"

"Ffyrnig, or Ffy for short. She belongs to Night, technically, but she's become a...very good friend of mine. I'd tell you more about her, but that would ruin the surprise." Rio grinned, unable to help himself, and the mischief behind it was unmistakable.
Now, a little further in, there was a clearing she liked...

That smile made Leo a little suspicious, but certainly Rio wouldn't take him to meet anyone dangerous. Ffyrnig. The name didn't sound like any he had ever heard before. "Alright then."

As luck would have it, they wouldn't have to go traipsing all over looking for the mysterious Ffyrnig. Across the clearing from where they'd entered it, she was perched on a branch, hunkered up close to the trunk with her head tucked under her wing and sleeping quite contentedly. Until, that was, they came strolling in and talking and interrupted her 'beauty' sleep. One voice she recognized, the other she did not.
Rrrg, what could Rio possibly want at this hour? Barely stirring, she sent an affectionately irritated, "Can't you see I'm sleeping? What is soo important that you have to come all the way out here and wake me up?"Love looked positively gleeful, which didn't match his apology at all. "Sorry, Ffy. I thought you might still be up, and I wanted to introduce you to a friend. But we can come back later, if you want...?"The Tylluan shifted, peeking out at the pair with sharp red-orange eyes. "You're here now," she replied gruffly, covering curiosity. "You might as well stay."

Normally Leo would've been polite but at the moment he was far too busy gaping. Ffyrnig it seemed was an owl, a very large owl at that. Sure, they had owls in Terre d'Ange but they were tiny compared to this one! To his credit he didn't faint and even managed to stammer out a greeting, even if it was in his native language. Hello, Madam.
Somewhere in his mind he knew it was impolite to stare but he was torn between shock and curiosity.

With a series of short hoots that was vaguely reminiscent of a laugh, Ffy sidled down her branch to get a little closer. "You didn't tell him I was an owl, did you?"
Rio shook his head in answer, clearly having a difficult time not laughing - but to his credit, he was trying!
"Ach, you human types. Always so surprised when something else can talk." Fortunately, she was more amused than offended, and just enjoyed being contentious. "Well, since he's busy suffocating himself trying not to laugh, I'm Ffy. And you are?"
