Ledell pulled her peacock blue Thunderbird into a spot in the school parking lot. It was an old-fashioned car, but she enjoyed putting the top down and letting the wind blow through her dark magenta hair. The stylist had really done a good job with her hair during the summer, and Ledell couldn't wait to see how her friends would react. Especially her boyfriend. She parked, locking the Thunderbird behind her, and headed up the walk to the front doors of Olympia High. It was her Senior year, and she really was the queen bee of the school now.

"alright...3...more," Astrayl was at the schools swimming pool finishing his morning routine. 20 free styles, 20 butterflies, and then 20 laps around the pool. It was tough but he couldn't help it. He loved the water too much to stay out of it and it didn't feel right when he wasn't working hard or over exerting himself. When he finally finished he hopped out of the pool with a smile of satisfaction on his face. "After school I think I will try 30 laps instead. For now, I best get ready for school." Wrapping a towel around his waste and another around his neck he walked into the locker room. "I wonder when the others on the team will start coming to morning practice with me? He sighed as he hopped into the open showers.

10 minutes later he came back out smelling like fresh sea water. "Ahh I feel so much better." Astrayl opened his locker and began to get dressed in the clothes he brought to school with him. A pair of blue jeans, bright blue running shoes, a purple t-shirt, and a dark blue and bright blue striped hoodie. He adored the color blue, it made him feel at home. Lastly, he grabbed his back pack and exited the school pool and walked towards the main building.

User ImageDonald got up about forty-five minutes before school officially started. He threw on an outfit, made some toast real quick and hopped into the Jaguar that his parents bought him for his birthday a few months ago. He revved it up and roared out of the driveway down the street and out to the school.

He was still hung over from the previous night, there had been some party at some nameless little punk's house. It was an okay party, his parents were out of town, he didn't have a pool, and there was a modicum of alcohol. There was the normal platitudes thrown at him, and as much as he enjoyed being praised, the guy was just a sophomore, and beneath his contempt, or affections, for that matter. Maybe in a couple months, the fact that Donald had actually made it to his party would shoot him up through the popularity ranks and then it would actually be cool for Donald to be there.

While Astrayl was still doing his morning swim, Donald was pulling into the school parking lot in his brand new Jaguar convertible. Before shutting the beautiful machine, he revved it one last time and got out. As he was walking toward the school, Astrayl was also walking toward the main entrance. Donald slapped Astrayl on the back in a friendly manner and continued walking. "Hey, man. How the hell are ya?"

It had taken awhile, but Riley had finally made it to school. She had gotten distracted when she saw a baby bird fall out of its nest. Not wanting for the poor thing to freeze, she quickly scooped it up and placed it back in its next with its bretheren. But as she arrived in the parking lot, the sophomore snaked through a few cars in the parking lot as more and more upperclassmen began to arrive. She guessed that it was to get a good parking spot, since parking was sparce after 7:30am. Class was to begin at 7:50 every morning, although right now it was barely passed 7 o'clock. Her sneakers skidded a bit as she passed a few more upperclassmen and began to walk up the staircase that led into the main building.

Once she opened the door and stepped inside, she then began to walk down the hallway, sighing to herself as she looked from side to side. The walls at the moment were bare and lifeless, but that all would change in the coming weeks when posters about school elections, sporting events, and theatrical performances would be covering every square inch of the walls. Arriving at the office, she opened the door and walked inside, being greeted by an older woman in her mid-forties, who seemed to have not awakened all the way yet. "Um, excuse me, could I have my class schedule and my new locker please?" She asked before she stepped back from the counter, waiting for the woman to search around for the proper documentation.

Seth Mavros, senior at Olympia High, walked down the sidewalk, staring blankly ahead of him. He'd trekked this path so many times he could make the journey in his sleep, allowing his mind to wander for the fifteen minutes it took him to get from his house to the school. He didn't have a car. His parents didn't think he needed it. 'More exercise, less danger,' or something like that, his parents had said. Not that he cared. He didn't like cars much. Too noisy. He liked walking, even in weather as cold as it was. The cold seemed to barely bother Seth, though, as he walked to school in only a light jacket.

He was not alone on the sidewalk. Some ways behind him, two girls, sophomores, walked side by side. They conversed with eachother in hushed tones. Seth had an idea what they were talking about. He confirmed it when he looked over his shoulder at them, and they stopped abruptly and blushed. When he looked forward again, they giggled, attempting to muffle their squeals. Seth sighed inaudibly and picked up his pace. The two girls that were whispering about him were making him uncomfortable.

As he walked through the front doors of Olympia High and down the hallway, the sophomores and juniors that were grouped together separated to make way for him, and he strode through without a look at any of them. He didn't exactly know what it was about him that made them do that; guys would get out of the way, then stare, and girls would get out of the way, then squeal. One of the many mysteries of human reactions that Seth couldn't fathom.

The only people who didn't know to get out of the way were the new students: the freshman, who was still learning what was what, and who was who. Seth soon encountered one such freshman - a boy, with tousled, light-colored hair, lanky frame, and a childish grin. The boy wasn't looking where he was going, He had his head down and grazed Seth's side. Looking up, he grinned and said, "Sorry, dude. M'bad." Seth remained silence, looking down at the boy. The boy shifted, then went on his way, fiddling with something in his hands. Seth realized that it was a wallet. Probably not his. The boy was a pickpocket. Fortunately, it wasn't Seth's either.

Seth let out a breath, just barely a sigh. The boy irked him, somehow. It was as if the boy had already found a place in Olympia High, despite only being here for - what, twenty minutes? Not some honorable position, either. Seth would have to watch out for him. With that thought in mind, he headed over to his locker and placed his things inside. He had history first period. Joy.

It was his first day at Olympia High, but Cole already thought of it as his new home. Well, second home anyway. The real home, with parents, and food, and a bed would always rank first. He strode confidently through the front doors, a loopy, care-free grin already on his face, despite the early hour. Normally, he would look similar to a zombie in the mornings, but hey, it was the first day! That was surely something to smile about. He could just imagine the floods of rumors swimming around its hallways. A whole lot more to spread than in middle school. Probably three times juicier, as well. Cole couldn't wait to find out what they were.

Before he could do that, though, he'd have to know who exactly the rumor was about. A little scouting time, it seemed. He'd arrived early; he could run through the school by the time the bell rang for first period. He had history first, anyway; he was never eager to get to that class.

As he strode down the halls, Cole saw a few familiar faces from his old school, and waved to them, giving them a big grin. He faced front again, suddenly reminded of something. A freshie was coming his way, a tough-looking guy, but not all that much taller than Cole. Cole picked up his pace, feigning awe at the beautiful windows of the school. His head was still stretched to the right when he bumped into the guy. A split second after collision, he stepped to the side, and held up one hand in apology. "Sorry, man!" he said, a look of innocence on his face. "Weren't looking where I was goin', ya know. Beautiful place, this place here." The guy muttered something about stupid wimps, then walked on.

Once the guy turned the corner, Cole's grin appeared again, and he took out his other hand from behind his back. Where it was before empty-headed, it now held a sleek leather wallet. Daily wallet-picking, check. Cole turned around and looked inside the wallet's contents. The dude was pretty packed, he had to admit. He took out some coupons, and grinned. Tacos for lunch. Yum.

He was still fishing through the wallet when he bumped into somebody else - accidentally this time. It wasn't a freshie. Rather, a senior, a tall, thin guy. Cole's first thought was, Damn. Emo much? The guy had on black shoes, black jeans, a black jacket, and a navy blue shirt underneath. Where the heck was this guy's creativity?

Cole put on his signature grin and apologized. "Sorry, dude. M'bad." Anxious to get away, he turned and strode quickly down the hall. Jeez, did that guy give him the creeps. Cole had to find out who he was. As he passed by the office, he saw a girl inside, with long, dark hair, tinted with green. He stopped by just in time to hear her ask for her class schedule and locker number. Cole strode inside and stopped next to her, leaning against the counter. "Ah, me too! Forgot t'get my locker number."

The office lady shot him a withering look. "Well, if you had not bounded out after getting your schedule earlier, you would have gotten that as well." she said.

Cole grinned, saluting loosely. "Aye-aye, lady. I'll remember next time." he said, 'discreetly' shooting a wink at the girl next to him.

As Astrayl was just about to enter the school when he was slapped on the back by his friend Donald. Astrayl laughed a bit from his friend's greeting and smiled. "Good to see you Donald. I could hear the engine of your new car from the swimming pool." Without much hesitation a couple girls walked up to the two of them holding up letters. "Will you please take these?" For a second Astrayl didn't know what was happening until he got a proper look at the letters. More love letters for him, he smiled again then looked at the girls. They were juniors, some of them he already knew but only as acquaintances. Taking each letter and placing them in his bag, the girls squealed to each other then ran off. As soon as they were gone he looked at Donald. "Also, I am doing fine. Parents are still trying to talk me out of using my motorcycle to get to school."

As the two of them walked down the hall, Astrayl was trying to scout out people for the swimming team. While doing so a freshman bumped into him but he didn't think to much of it until he saw Seth a couple steps away.

User ImageAfter the girls walked away, Donald watched after them for a second, but was interrupted by entering the school. "You could? That's a good thing." They walked for a bit longer and then he mentioned his parents. "Man, screw that! Motorcycles and convertibles are where it's at! You get to feel the wind blowin' through your hair, you get speed, you get freedom. What could possibly be better than that?" He watched the kid bump into Astrayl, then followed his friend's gaze up the hall to Seth. "Hey, hey! Seth, what's the big, bad goth doing today?!"

"Boys, behave," Ledell said, mock-scolding Donald and Astrayl as she passed them in the hall and overheard Donald's comment. "Hey, Seth. Gloomy as usual, I see." Ledell wasn't being catty. She always took a bit of a motherly attitude toward the other students, even those in her grade. "Have any of you seen my boyfriend yet?" she asked, concern furrowing her brow slightly. "He's normally here before me."

Astrayl smile almost faded with Ledell showed up. He didn't know why but he didn't like her too much. It may have been from the fact that she thinks she can boss Astrayl around or that her mind set tries to put her on a higher level. He didn't know and to be honest really didn't care. From his point of view she was a queen trying to exercise her power over Astrayl, one of the titans of the school. He only sighed when she mentioned her boyfriend. As well as Ledell, he didn't find her boyfriend much better. They never got along, he always seems to want to pick a fight with Astrayl, even if Astrayl had the same feelings. It felt like they were brothers trying to argue who is better or stronger.

Donald however didn't seem to care much. Then again Donald will chase any girl who might be wearing a skirt, one of the perks about his friend that he likes so much. Then he looked back at Ledell and put on a smile, but it was halfheartedly. "No I haven't seen him today. I was at the pool all morning finishing my routine."

Ledell laughed, a sound like the melodic tone of a flute. "I don't think so, Donald," she smiled. "I don't date younger men, and you're a junior. Besides, I'm a one-guy kinda girl. Faithful till the end. Unlike someone I could mention," she said, raising her eyebrows at him. Then she frowned worriedly. She was wont to do that sometimes--worry, that is. "I hope he's okay. I mean, it's only the beginning of the day. Not even first period yet. But, still..."

User ImageDonald laughed heartily at her remark about dating younger men. "That's a good one, my dear. But you haven't lived until you've been with me! Besides, we're only about six months apart. You act as if you're so much better than everybody else, just because you got to start school ahead of the rest of us..." He put his hand on Astrayl's shoulder and leaned in close to look across at Ledell again. "You know, I'd be willing to bet that your uppity attitude is really hiding something so nasty, so kinky, that to unleash it would raise hell." ((OOC: Man, this is sooooo fun! I usually don't play high school RP's, but I like this one.))

Ledell lifted an eyebrow. "Uppity? Excuse me? I'm not nearly so bad as Ciel Kingsley. And I don't think I'm better than everyone. That's just the impression you like to think I give, what with my being the head of every club. I didn't ask to be made club leader in any of them. That's just what happens when you actually put effort into something, wouldn't you agree?" she smiled, turning and continuing down the hall to her locker.

Astrayl wasn't a fan of Donald leaning on him but he didn't care much anyways. It was his next remark to Ledell that made him cringe a bit. 'This guy is trying to get us chewed out. Not to mention it is her of all people.' A argument with Ledell is like challenging a lion with a wheat straw, you weren't going to win. Astrayl started to go over scenarios in his head that could help him get out of this situation. 'I could throw Donald off me but that would make me look like a bad guy. I could say I have to go to the bathroom but I just left the locker room and had a chance. Then again Donald might just come with. Think Astrayl think.' The underclass men were starting to stare at the three upperclassmen who were in the middle of the hallway. Astrayl found this a little embarrassing and tiring. 'ugh this couldn't possibly get any worse.' Sadly it did.

A senior, one of the thugs at the school, walked by them pushing his shoulder into Astrayl while laughing to himself. "So you are Astrayl, the famous swimmer here. You are nothing but a pompous pretty boy who likes to soak his head to much." The boy grabbed a bottle of water from a freshmen and poured it onto Astrayl. "Go back to the ocean you freak." He stuck his tongue out at Astrayl as he dropped the bottle of water on his head.

As soon as the boy turned around Astrayl's mind snapped as he grabbed the boy by his right ear ring and ripped it off.
