Phae nodded when her mother said what they wanted to do with the branch and then sat and listened as she explained what those clipper things were but giggled when she saw her father blush.
Fester blushed a little at the comment and poked his tongue out at his mate playfully, listening on to what she said "well, they are a rather handy tool to have around aren't they?" He said as he looked at their son "and that means, Daigh, you can't bite it" he said smiling at him, knowing all too well he liked to bite things, he was a kit so it came with the territory but still, better warn him just incase, they didn't need to have bloodshed in the cave, with some of his mishaps on some of his mates things there was enough of that already at times.
Phae looked up from the clippers to her parents "is there a way to make a see-saw mommy?" She asked curiously, knowing this lesson was important and all but hey, she was a kid, as much as she understood what her mother was saying playtime was more important to her.

Daigh frowned at his father and shook his head at the no biting comment. "Metal hurts my teeth, Poppy. 'S not good for biting." Little did Fester or Morrigan know that the biting wasn't just a kit thing for Daigh... though they'd find out as time went on.
Morri smiled at the boys, shaking her head bemusedly, when Phaedra's question brought her back to the moment with a serious glance toward the branch. "Well, if we clear off the excess we might be able to do something serviceable with it by this afternoon. Doing a proper job of it might mean waiting to get the rest of what I'd need for it from Father and bringing it back, though, so that part would take until at least tomorrow. But yes, I think the four of us can rig something up for today after we clean it off."

"Well, at least you know that much I guess" he said as he moved over and curled around his son and nuzzled him "at least we won't be needing dental work on your mouth because of that" he said as he licked his sons cheek.
"Yay! Wait, will it be safe enough?" She asked curiously, not meaning to sound doubtful and she trusted her mother but she wanted to make sure that was all, after what happened earlier a little bit of doubt was only normal after her stupidity got her hurt in the first place.

Daigh snuggled his tiny frame into his father's much larger one happily. "I dun want anything to happen t'my teef Poppy. I'ma be careful." Nodnodnod.
Morri examined the branch again. "See that smaller branch on the bottom of it there, and that one farther up that are rather thick? I'll need to get the saw to take those off, but I can also use it to cut them down to a good size to use to brace the center so the see-saw won't roll. We'll test it first before you try playing on it, of course, but that should suffice for today."
The lady scientist then padded over to her mate and son and proceeded to stick her nose right behind Fester's ear and nuzzle gently. "I'm going to let you have a go with the clippers, love, and see if you can get them down. It will go faster if I can go ahead and get the saw out as well. The kits can move the debris away after we clear it from the branch so we can keep working." And while the saw was far easier to actually use as far as tools went, it also had far less by way of safety precautions compared to the clippers. If he was in fact going to wind up accidentally injuring himself today, better a strained muscle or a chipped claw on the clipper's handles than accidentally sawing through part of his paw.

Phae looked at her mother and grinned "yay! Thank you mommy!" She said, as she was glad she was going to be able to play on it today, sure she would have to wait till she properly had a sturdy see-saw but hey, it was better then nothing.
"We don't want anything to happen to your teeth either and good, that's all we can ask of you when it comes to these sorts of situations" he said as he looked up from his son and looked at his mate, smiling at her touch yet soon pouted after he heard what she wanted him to do "umm...can I just sit out for today? Maybe let you handle it and I will try next time?" He asked, looking pleadingly at his mate having a feeling he knew what the answer was going to be "besides, our son needs us, better I just stay cuddling him." Fester said, lame excuse as to why he should also stay where he was but hey, he was nice and comfy here and he wasn't exactly happy he was going to be playing with something sharp, couldn't he use something that wouldn't harm him first? Like that broom thing or maybe that brush? At least he won't lose a claw with those things.

Morrigan looked pensively at Fester for a moment but before she could reply Daigh chimed in. "Momma can't Poppy do something I can help with? I wanna do something with Poppy!" Morri blinked at that, then looked thoughtful for a long moment. There was something else she could ask them to do.
"Just a moment." She padded inside and rummaged around her work room until she found what she sought and then returned, dropping a small box full of strange yellowish sheets of thick paper. "Sandpaper. The top side you see is smooth, the bottom part is very rough. You can use it to smooth the stumps down after I get the sticks trimmed off so the kits won't scratch themselves on them." She turned to include Phaedra in the conversation. "I shall trim off the branches, and you can all help move them and then use the sandpaper in between. How does that sound?"

Fester smiled down at his son and when his mate left he nuzzled him and whispered to him "thank you darling, I would of liked to do what your mother said but yeeeah, not sure I want one of my first goes at using a tool mommy uses that could end up harming me, you just saved me from that so I owe you one" he said as he 'kissed' his sons cheek.
Phae jumped up and nodded "alright, that will be fun!" She said to her mother once she came back, this sandpaper thing didn't seem too bad and she got to help with daddy and her brother, this would be a nice thing to do with the family.
Fester looked at his mate "sure, that sounds fine, thank you" he said smiling at her, the 'thank you' as some what of an apology also, glad she wasn't too upset, he would touch them he just needed a bit more confidence that was all.

((Just gonna... skim over the majority of the work I guess. XD))
The work went fairly quickly. Morri moved as fast as she could to clear the smaller branches with the clippers so the others could move in to do the sanding, and once she had cleared away all the parts that were safe to do with the clippers she returned them to the workroom and retrieved the saw. She had everyone back away then while she sawed off the larger offshoots, and then evened out the ends of the branch. That done she selected the two largest and sturdiest of the offshoot branches and worked on trimming them down to a decent size to use for bracing the main branch, and gathering the rest of the available materials for setting up the basic see-saw while Fester and the children finished smoothing the branch.
"Well, now we just need to decide where to put it and put the bracing on. Since it's your see-saw, kids, why don't you pick a spot?" Morri smiled as Daigh gave the breadth of their yard a long look before turning his inquisitive gaze to Phaedra for input. She was very glad her children made an effort to include one another on their own, without having to be told. It certainly made things... simpler some times.

((LOL yes, we don't really need to rp the tedious bits) XD))
Fester moved back and sat next to his mate and nuzzled her, nipping playfully at her ear whilst he let the children decide where the see-saw should go "you know, your beautiful when you work" he said smiling at the female as he licked her cheek "though, if you couldn't have guessed, our son saved me earlier, I apologise for not wanting to use those clipper things yet I just thought starting on something less deadly would be better for me. I know, I should of just said but really, some of your stuff still scares me and the fact these can still draw blood doesn't exactly fill me up with joy" he said, hating to deceive her a little like he did but he just would rather work up to the more dangerous stuff then just be thrown into the deep end.
Phaedra stepped back and looked between the see-saw, her brother and where it should go for a few moments before speaking up "I don't know..." she said "we need somewhere close by but not somewhere that is obstruding... obstetrician...
"Obstructing?" Fester looked asked, smiling at her daughter.
"Yes! That's it! Thank you daddy!" She said happily, having read the word from one of her mothers books that she had asked her father about one day "obstructing our view from the cave but still is easy too get to and yet can be supported till mommy and daddy get what they need to make it more sturdy and that...I don't know" she said wondering if that tree that the branch had originally come from would work until they were ready to move it elsewhere "what do you think mommy?" She asked curiously. "You need to have it somewhere where it can be sturdy until you can fix it so is there anything it needs to be against or whatever?" She asked, thinking that whilst it was up to her brother and herself she wanted to make sure it was somewhere for mommy and daddy to be able to access it easily also.
Fester looked at his children and smiled a little, he was glad they were also including each other, they would have a better life then he ever did as a kid, even if only it was within the family, sure they wanted them to make friends with other kitsu but knowing how badly he was treated he was, admittedly, a little bit scared they will have the crap he had thrown at him. So, at this present time, he was pleased the children were looking after each other and including each other etc, it made their job easier for sure but if there was one thing they both wanted for their children it was that family was important and will always be there for them etc, them including each other was a great start and hopefully, as they grow, they will just remain close to each other.
