Oh yes, the feline was smiling brightly but, upon drawing closer it was clearly seen that this smile was not a bright smile of glee... No, far from... It was a bright smile of d00m. His eyes were gleaming in a most feral manner, fluffy tail snapping back and forth behind him.

As Cian realised the exact twist of the felines smile he raised a brow. That was a new one. What was up? "Chesh... Don't tell me you ate some poor helpless bird on the way here." He was joking but still.

"Eat something? Why would I eat anything if I couldn't keep it down to save my life?" His smile only darkened as he placed a hand on the table, head cocking to the side as he glanced down at Cian. "Do you have any idea what they did to me at that... That doctor's office?"

"You ate the soup fine...unless you got up after i fell asleep." He wouldnt have noticed Chesh get up since he slept like a log. "And no....i dont." It hadnt been completly his idea. Blithe had helped in convincing Chesh to go see a doctor.

"They poked and they prodded... And then they poked some more after discovering a lump." He growled softly, eyes narrowing. "Then... Then they sent me to another doctor who did a bit more poking in places that I've never been poked before, thank you."

Cian blinked. "Umm....poked in places you hadnt?" He moved one of the chairs at the table with his foot. "Sit, lump? confused, start at the beginning."

"I'm not sitting down." He huffed, drawing his arm back in order to cross it, along with the other, over his chest. "The good doctors said that it was this 'lump' that's been making me ill... They've given me some medication to take that is supposed to help... But do you know how uncomfortable it is to have cold metal inserted in places so that they can give you a 'proper examination'?!"

"No, i dont, and i dont think i want to." he shuddered at the thought. "But ... 'lump'. You keep saying that with a weird tone. What are you talking about." He couldnt see why Chesh wouldnt sit down though.

"I'm pregnant, you a**." Those words, that tone... It wasn't Cheshire's normal one. No, there was a certain trace of madness that wasn't often heard in the feline's voice.

"You cant be pregnant. You're a guy." He ignored the comment about him being an a** for the moment. Chesh couldnt be, you couldnt be male and pregnant, things didnt work like that. But that tone. "... You're not kidding."

"No, Cian. I'm not kidding." His tail whipped through the air behind him, tension crackling like static. "I didn't believe it... They didn't believe it either until they touched me in ways that make me twitch just thinking about it. Kinky is one thing... But I don't even know these people."

He opened his mouth a few times trying to think of something to say but ended up looking at his tea instead. "....pregnant...." That ment he was, "Im a dad?!" He blinked and stared up at Chesh, green eyes wide.

"Not yet you aren't." He growled softly, standing there in all of his feline fury. "This thing is still in my stomach, you know... Leeching off of my insides and making me sick."

"But..." he scrambled up and looked at Chesh. His hands came up rested on the others cheeks. "Your....I'm....dad....." He probably wouldnt like it as much if he had something leeching off his insides but. "Morning sickness dosent last all that long.....i'm gonna be a dad." He mumbled the last part to himself.

He continued to glare up at Cian, remaining unmoving and unwavering in his disposition despite Cian's obvious joy. It wasn't necissarily the child that he was upset about... It was the poking, the prodding... And that sense of vile discomfort that he was still feeling from having everythign examined.

Dropping his hands he sighed. "You're not happy about it...."

"Can we talk about this at home?" He spoke through gritted teeth, golden eyes flickering about the cafe. "I feel like everyone's starring at me... And I'll be getting enough of that if I ever leave the house in the time to come."

"Umm.. Yea.." He waved at one of the waiters and left the money for his tea on the table. "Home..." Chesh probably didnt like the idea of kids. He probably didnt want one running around the loft.

His arms remained crossed over his chest, dropping a bit lower as if to shield his stomach... Not like anything could have been noticed this soon but, just the same. His tail continued to crack behind him as he walked back to the loft, remaining wordless. The public didn't need to know every bit of his bloody business.

Cian followed Chesh, staying out of the way of his tail, and though this over. There had to be something he was missing if Chesh was pregnant. He was male, Cian knew he was first hand, so how could he be pregnant?

He grumbled as he made his way up the stairs, cursing the amount of them and hissing at the fact that Gav hadn't given them an elevator key yet. That was most certainly going to have to change... Especially if he was going to pack on more pounds. "Sonofabitch..."

Cian tried not to snicker at Chesh cursing. It had always been amusing to him to see him curse for some reason. "The stairs are innocent."

"But you're not." He retorted quickly, stopping just shy of the loft door. He hadn't brought his key with him, knowing that he'd be meeting with Cian later.

He winced slightly as he dug his keys out of his pocket. "Sorry...." He popped the door open and let Cheshire go in first.

He huffed softly as he slipped past Cian, flopping down onto his corner of their big, crimson couch.

He walked in, locking the door behind him, and headed for the couch. Flopping down on the couch he leaned his head against the back. "I didnt.....sorry." Chesh really was pissed about this.

"You can't apologize for their actions." He snorted softly, frown tugging the corners of his lips downwards. "I feel violated."

"I c...wait, what?!" He blinked and sat up. "You're mad at them? Not at being pregnant? You're not....its not?" He blinked.

"It's not what?" His brow raised, giving his eyes an even more feral look to the slitted pupils.

He shook his head. "You're pissed at the doctors for poking you and not pissed cause you are pregnant?" The tilted his head and looked at the kitten.

"I'm highly annoyed at the specialists for prodding me where they've no bloody right to be prodding." He growled, petite fangs showing from the corners of his lips. "The prodding is a result of the pregnancy."

"Ok..." He leaned his head back against the couch again. "so you went to the doctors to see what was wrong and after one set didnt believe what they saw they sent you somewhere else and thoes ones prodded you more and they told you what was wrong and that a growing baby was making you sick." He turnes his head so he could look at the other with one eye.

"I went to one doctor to find out what was wrong... After describing symptoms and poking around they sent me to a doctor who specializes in parts that I shouldn't have." He growled once more, crossing his arms more firmly around himself.

"I was getting to that part...." He rubbed the bridge of his nose. "What parts?"

"What parts..." He muttered, eyes narrowing once more, closing only as he brought his own hand up to rub at his eyelids. "What parts do you think?"

"Well you have to have ...." He blinked. "How do i explain not noticing something like that..."

"Hell if I know." He continued to growl softly, fur upon his tail bristling. "How do I explain not noticing something like that if it's a part of my own body? I can tell you one thing... I sure as hell noticed it today while they we're prodding it."

"I have no idea.....and that must have been uncomfortable." He sighed and pulled Chesh into his lap before the kitten could complain.

"You have no idea until it's been done to you..." He huffed, tones softening slightly as he curled up against Cian, drawing one leg up to his chest.

"I dont think i can have that dont to me" He kissed the top of the kittens head. "So is that all they said? you're preggo?"

"I'm a perfectly healthy young thing with a creature feasting on my insides." He snorted. "I'm just peachy."

"Its not feasting on your insides, jsut on everything you feast on." He rested his head against Cheshires shoulder.

He simply sighed least he wind up saying something else that he'd eventually regret, curling up against Cian's chest. He didn't like this... Nothing required him to like this... Especially if it meant more prodding.

"If....if..." He though for a second. "If you are that against it you can....get rid of it." He didnt know if he liked that idea but if Chesh was going ot hate it then it would be alright.

If he hadn't already been annoyed at this point he certainly would have been now. "You're insane if you think I'd even consider that, Cian." He hissed, drawing tense against the other man. It was all he could do to keep himself from pulling away completely.

"We'll you seem so pissed at the idea of it." he snapped. He hadnt really ment to get mad but Chesh wasnt doing much to explain what was going on and he was confused already. Sighing he closed his eyes. "Sorry....didnt mean to snap."

"You're not sorry. Not at all, Cian, so don't you dare say you are." His voice nearly squeaked at that, lip quivering despite his attempts to remain simply frustrated.

"Ok, I'm not. I have no idea what is going on and you arent being much of a help in making it any less confusing." He didnt open his eyes. He had never been really pissed at the kitten before and he didnt want to start now. "All you are doing is being angry and from my stand point it is my fault that you are even in this mess in the first place."

"What part didn't you hear, Cian?" He stiffened once more, pulling away from the larger man despite the fact that he remained seated in his lap. "I told you. I am pregnant. That's what's going on. How do you want me to be? Overjoyed that they spent hours examining parts I've just now found out exist before I've even gotten a chance to properly examine them? Do you want a smile? Here." He plastered a grin on his face, ears standing straight in a mockery of joy. "How's this?"

"Thats not what I meant." He huffed. "You havent. I get that part. You have parts you shouldnt have and you had strange peopel poking at them and you didnt like it. I get that." He really wanted to snap at something now. "I dont get anything else. All you have been is pissed. How am i supose to know if you even like the idea that you are pregnant? You havent said anything about liking the idea of having a kid or anything. Stop grinning like that." He tried despratly not to snarel. "I have no idea what you want, expect, me to say or think."

His grin faded just as quickly as he had called it to his lips, eyes narrowing. "No one's given me the time to think about whether or not I like it... It's growing inside of me and there's nothing I can do to change that." After hearing his own words every feature of his face shifted, skin paling considerably. "... It's growing inside of me, Cian."

"Yea..." He though about that for a few moments. "There is a child growing inside of you that is ours." He still couldnt really believe that. He and Chesh had a kid, something he never though would happen.

Tears filled his eyes as he nestled his head against Cian's shoulder once more, lids closing tightly to keep the salty liquid from streaming down his cheeks. He was laughing despite this... Somewhat nervous laughter, but laughter just the same.

He wrapped his arms tightly around Cheshire and pulled him against him. "Dont cry kitten...please." He nuzzled nis nose against the kittens ear.

His ear flickered against the tip of Cian's nose, his own nose wriggling as he sniffled. "Can't 'elp it..."

"Dont like it when you cry." He tightened his arms slightly.

He turned, wrapping his arms firmly around Cian's neck. He found himself whispering fiercely against his husband's ear. "We're going to have a baby, Cian..."

He nodded. "Cutes ******** baby ever created." He said just as fiercely.

There he would stay, entertwined with his husband until neither of them could sit there any longer, eventually retreating to the bedroom for comfort and rest. To hell with Gavan... To hell with the club... He'd understand.

They were going to be a family... A true family.

The sound of a throat being cleared could be heard followed by the sound of a tap against the microphone. "Recording? Good...

"This is the twenty-fourth day of second month of the year two-thousand and six.

"Hello, little momewrath. You're far too tiny to know that these words are being recorded for you now... As a matter of fact, as I speak, you're still inside my tummy... A little seed of life that is, as I've been told by the doctors, quickly blossoming into a bud that will grow on into a beautiful child.

"Your father, or Cian as I will be calling him in these little chats, is in the kitchen making breakfast right now. He's a good man, little momewrath... And he'll be a wonderful father to you... That is, if I can keep him from trying to spoil you the moment you take your first breath in this outside world. A bit of spoling is inevitable, of course, but I don't want you to become one of those children that I've seen out and about durring my ventures through town.

"You're our little miracle, you see. For two men, finding out that one is with child is a very rare occurrance. I've gone through so many different emotions since they first told me... So many feelings and thoughts...

"... You're on your way, little momewrath. You're really, truly on your way. We'll be ready for you when you do get here. Things will change... We'll have a crib with a mobile and soft blankets and toys... We'll have everything you'll need by the time you get here. I promise."

"Chesh! Breakfast is ready!"

"That was Cian... You heard him. Breakfast is ready, little one. Time for both of us to eat... All three of us if you count your father. I'll talk to you again soon."

The final word was followed by the sound of a kiss and the click sounding as the record button was released.

From the mind of a Mad Man - Feb 28 2k6
Alright so i offically feel like a gay man. I dont think i have ever spent as much time shopping as i have been. I started taking the music room appart the other day, since i didnt have to be into work untill the late shift, and seem to have made a nice mess in the loft. All the instruments are either in mine and Chesh's room, a few are in Blithe's, and the lyre i put on the wall in the dining room. The padding i soundprofed the room with we got rid of, well some of it i kept cause, well, yea.

Now all i have to do is get the room fixed up enough that it is presentable for our little one. Still have to tell the family too, and Gavin. I think he is starting to wonder what the hell i have been doing up here.

Chesh seems to be getting settled with this idea better. He did have a 'moment' the other day but i think he is over it. He's decided that instead of writing things down he is going to record everything so the kid can listen to it later. I'll just have to hide this albumjournal thing from him for a while, he hates cameras.

Anyway. Once i have the place fixed i have a few toys i couldn't resist getting and i have some furniture on hold that need to get into the room. I want to show it to Chesh before i actually buy it. I need to drag him out to pick out paint colors for the room too, and a rug since the floors in there are wood. Maybe we should do the room up in a couple colors instead of just one. Think that might be cool looking.

From the mind of a Mad Man - March 8 2k6
Finally told mom and Skye about Chesh being preggo. They didnt freak. I am still amazed.

Hatter was was just, well Hatter. I think if it had been any other time mom would have latched onto the idea of Chesh being male and female but i think mom was a little...busy. Skye, who should not entice me with making cakes, took it better than i thought. Then again with all the kids she has running around i guess i can see her not being so, spazzy, about more. She told me to be careful, and not to call Chesh fat, which i havent, cause he isnt, yet.

I dont think he will get fat anyway, probably just a cute little pudge. I know he hates it when i tell him he was cute when he was pudgy but he was. Still is. Lords knows i like him no matter what he looks like.

I bought the baby some more things, still need to get a crib and some furniture for the room. Chesh and I are supose to go shopping for paint this weekend since i got the music room re-converted into something livable again. Still dont know what color to paint the room.

I think all we really have left to do is tell Gavan and some of our 'siblings'. Vyn would probably get a laugh out of it. Though i think if he laughs i am going to have to hurt him, as long as that big guy isnt around. Dont want him eating me, looks like he would eat me if i clocked Vyn.

Nevermind them. You know, i didnt think plush catterpillars would be so ....plushie....i think the baby will like this one.

I hope i dont spaz when the baby is born. And i hope i am not at work, cause Gavan is going to kill me if i go running out of the bar in the middle of a rush.

"Saturday, the eleventh day of the third month of the year two-thousand and six."

A slight rustle could be overheard as the feline presumably shifted postions in order to make himself more comfortable.

"As much as I love you, little momewrath, I am begining to loathe this feeling that sends me skittering to the bathroom at least once an hour, often twice. Your growth, as I have been informed, has you pressing against my bladder in a most uncomfortable way.

"You are now considerably larger than you where upon our last little recorded chat, but that doesn't mean I haven't been speaking with you between sessions. No, I have talked to you often, playing little bits of music here and there to see how you would respond... Be it with little movements or with sleep-like stillness.

"You kicked me the other day as I helped Cian (your other father, remember?) sketch out the mural for your bedroom. He couldn't decide on a single paint color so, with the aide of Blithe (I'll tell you more about her later), we decided to bring you into our world properly... With a scene of a large forest full of brightly colored flowers, mushrooms... And even a caterpillar.

"Your cradle is beautiful... As is the dresser that Hatter and Skye picked out to go along with it. The dragon even found a matching rocking chair; I was so pleased.

"The entire family is looking forward to your appearance, my little momewrath. We all love you even though you've yet to take a breath in this outer world... It shouldn't be much longer before we see your beautiful face.

"I'll find out just how much longer this afternoon when... ... Oh goodness! I'm late for my appointment!"

The tape was left to continue recording the sound of silence until it ran out, leaving a final 'click' to mark its end.

The sound of rustling could be heard, followed by the sound of a door shutting. Aparantly the feline had hit 'record' before locking himself in the rather large closet.

"I severly dislike James. Cian came to the hospital to bring Zoe and I home... And we're greeted by a shrieking, pint-sized brat. Brat, I tell you!

"He had the bright idea that he was going to banish us from our own home. His howling made Zoe cry. Cry. No one makes my little girl cry.

"I may try eating him while Cian isn't looking... I told him that I wouldn't today only because James would give me indigestion if I tried.

"I don't believe I'll get much indigestion.

"If I can't eat him... Maybe I could stick him in a cag---

__// Easter Egg Hunt

The feline was a bit wary, to say the very least. This was the first 'outing' that wasn't completely family related and he was nervous... But Cian was standing right alongside him and certainly he would see to it that everything went well.

He'd dressed Zoe for the occassion, of course, in a white jumper with a tiny bit of white fluff above where her own tail stuck out. Then again... She also had a rattle attatched to the white jumper that resembled a golden pocketwatch and a red coat to keep off the chill.

Alright, so what if one's idea of an 'easter bunny' was a bit different than others?

He had almost laughed at the little outfit Chesh had picked out for their little girl but, after a moment of though, decided that it was cute and even if no one got it they liked it.

Wrapping one arm around Chesh he leaned down and kissed the feline on the cheek. "If you get tired we are going back home....and dont be nervous." As Zoe cooed up at him he poked her gently in the nose and smiled as she laughed happily.

He flashed a grin up at Cian, ears flickering towards the sounds of the other voices. "Don't worry. I'll be fine... Afterall, I have you here with me, don't I?" He shifted the little girl in his arms. "Besides. What sort of parents would we be if we didn't take advantage of showing our little one the joys of a holiday with rabbits and eggs and..." Glancing over at Keith for a moment. "We didn't bring a basket, Cian."

"Oh we didnt did we?" Cian grinned and reached up to pluck the black tophat off his head. "What do you think i brought this for? To make me look better?"

Zoe's little fingers reached out for her fathers hat as it was held just infront of her. "We just have a more, creative, basket than is tradational thats all."

Looking around he smirked. "So Zoe where shall we start this littler adventure?"

His golden eyes blinked and, for a moment, his look was mirrored by the golden gaze coming from the wee one in his arms; a bit of awe mingled with something seemingly thoughtful. Of course, that thoughtful look was quickly replaced by a furrowed brow. "You had better not let any eggs eggs break in that hat, husband... Or forget that any are in there. I know how your hats wind up like bottomless pits; loosing things. I won't have the smell of rotten yolk in my house."

Zoe grinned, gurgling and waving her arms around, one hand holding onto that 'time piece' as if she were saying 'Time to go, da!'. Chesh's 'outburst' was taken for what it was; teasing care and nothing more.

"I'm not....and that was a complete accident that your collar got lost in the purple one." He grinned and gently fuffed Zoe's ears. "I'll make sure to turn it inside out after were done, no worries."

Chesh was right though, things did go missing in his hats. "I wonder if we will find any striped eggs..." He'd always wanted to make an easter egg that looked like his loves tail but had always figured he would end up being glared at for the effort.

"Accident my..." He glanced down at the little one and promptly shut his mouth before the next word could come out. He then heard the 'go' sound and his tail flickered; the hunt was on!

"Where should we look first?" He was nearly tempted to hand their daughter over to Cian and scamper off with the rest of the children, feline curiosity nearly taking over. They would have to find at least one egg. It wouldn't do to be disappointed disappoint Zoe.

Cian raised a brow and looked down at Chesh. "Hand over the momwrath and we will start looking. You can hunt better than i do, i dont bend over as well as you." Choaking back a smirk he hoped, severly, that Chesh missed that inuendo.

"Lets look.....trees, up high." That would be easier, he could spot something up there and Chesh could easily get to it were they to find something

He carefully handed Zoe into Cian's care, pressing his lips gently to her forhead before glaring at his husband. "Practice makes perfect." He huffed before peering up into the branches of a nearby tree. It was short enough that he wouldn't have to climb too much if one were up there...

"Your father is going to have to pull your daddy out of a tree, i see it comming." He followed Chesh and smiled as he peered into the trees.

Zoe cooed happyly and wiggled her hands at a ladybug crawling at the base of the tree. Or perhaps there was something else down there.

"Nothing here." He grumbled, hearing the excitement of children around him as they found eggs. One. He'd be happy if they just found one for Zoe... Then they could go home and color eggs of their own if they really wanted to... And maybe he could talk Cian into letting him dye James as well.

He hopped down from the tree he'd been attempting to climb up, peeking around in the bushes where he almost swore he saw something... Maybe it was just movement... But maybe...

Shifting Zoe in his arms he walked over to a little patch of flowers. Plucking up a rather bright yellow one he handed it to his daughter. "There we go. Pretty flower for the pretty little girl."

And who knew, maybe there was something else in the flowers.

His fingers wrapped around the egg and a look of triumph overcame the features of his face. He gave a little twirl before holding the egg out to Zoe for inspection. "This, my dear, is what we were looking for. If you find any more we'll stick them right into your father's hat for safe keeping until the hunt's over... And then we'll look some more." He grinned.

"There we go....egg's all round." He laughed and let Chesh drop the egg into his hat. "Lets to look that way." He pointed a little ways off near a group of rocks.

Zoe giggled and watched the egg diaspear into the hat before she wiggled in Cian's arms. As they reached the rocks and Cian kneeled down so she could look she leaned as far out of his arms as she could with him keeping a tight grip on her.

"Watch it Zoe...cant have you falling and getting all dirty. Chesh will yell at me."

"I will not." He stuck his tongue out at Cian. "Clothes aren't all that hard to watch. Skye's given me a few hints for getting things out of children's clothing... Including 'don't buy white clothes'." He then caught himself looking at Zoe's white bunny outfit. "Whoops."

He then carefully peered around, looking past the rocks to a patch of pretty flowers. Even if there wasn't an egg in there... He could at least snatch a flower to tuck behind his own ear, or maybe even Cian's.

"Yea, white cloths." He wiggled one of Zoe's feet, to her amusement, and laughed. "That's why i am not going to let her wiggle around on the grass and mess it up."

Picking up a rock he rolled it over and looked around. Who knew, maybe there was a egg under there, science and weight differences be damned.

He glanced over at Cian who seemed to have found an egg... In the rocks? How odd. Of course, if the rabbit had been determined to find things then why on earth not place it where no one would think to look.

He continued to look through the flowers... Possibly for that perfect flower (or boquet, as it seemed he had picked a few) and possibly for another egg. A fine Easter this was... Certainly something to write home about.

Getting up with a groan he let Zoe see the egg before he dropped it into his hat. "Well, looks like you kitten." He laughed and walked over to where Chesh was picking flowers. "Are you flower hunting or egg hunting?"

Zoe cooed and, after setting the hat down, Cian knelt down and let her play with the flowers a little bit away from Chesh. Who knows what she would find down there

"A bit of both?" He grinned as he held a pretty little daisy up to Cian. "For you, dear heart." And then, down to Zoe. "Well, lookie there!" He reached for the egg that his daughter had started cooing over, poking at it with pudgy baby fingers.

She pouted when he pulled it away from her but continued 'searching' through the grass. So many colors... Flowers and eggs and... Butterflies! Her eyes went wide. It had pretty colors too! Pretty! And what was that the butterfly was sitting on?

Cian laughed as he stuck the flower beside his sunglasses. "Well well, looks like she is good at this." He put the egg in his hat with the others. "At least we will have flowers to make the house look springy."

Leaning back he plucked a rose off a neaby bush and brushed it against Cheshire's cheek. "Look....red roses." Looking back over at the roses he noticed something slightly off color.

"Painting the roses red..." He murmured softly in a sing-song voice as he pulled Zoe into his lap, content to make a daisy-chain to put on her head once it was finished.

She, on the other hand, seemed to have better ideas. Ideas that involved trying to grab for the brightly colored things... Especially that fluttering one! It reminded her of the fluttering things that her father had and they were fun to try and grab toooo. "Ga!" What if that was another egg? Beneath the flowers that the butterfly had moved on to?

It was a bright orange Mr. ladybug. Scooping up the bug he sat up and showed it to Zoe. "Lookie...its a buggie." Smiling he watched her eyes move away from the butterfly to the ladybug for a moment.

Grinning he handed another daisy to Chesh. "Going to make her a flowerprincess are we?" Plucking another daisy he looked around in the flowers for something else intresting to show Zoe

"She's already a princess... I see nothing wrong with a few flowers." He nodded as he set her down so that he could continue to work on the daisy chain.

She took that chance to paw through the grass, tail flickering around behind her happily. She plucked up a flower, sniffed it and let out a little 'achoo!' before dropping it aside. Golden eyes narrowed slightly and she reached for the ladybug, hand filtering for anything else that could be picked up... Maybe another one of those round things with the colors?

"Careful with the bug." He poked her tail as she fluffed it. Her cloths were going to get messy but well, i guess that would be alright as long as she was having fun.

Stealing one of Cheshires flowers he plucked off the petels and droped them onto Zoe.

She giggled happyly and reached up trying to catch the falling fluffy white things. Following one to the ground she dug though the flowers trying to find the escaped petal

Leaving his husband and daughter to their on devices for a moment he stood. There was one thing missing from his daisy chain... Something bright that would be needed to top it off like a crown jewel.

He began his search for that perfect flower by walking away from the other members of his family to look through a particularly pretty patch of wildflowers. There were a few blue and... There! One brilliantly pink bloom. It would match Zoe perfectly.

As he stooped down to pluck it he figured 'why not' and searched the area for eggs as well.

"Ohh....a white one." He grinned and almost laughed at the image of a pure white rose growng in the pile of red ones. "That so...wrong."

Seeing Zoe starting to crawl herself away from him he sat up and scooped her up. The little girl squeeked and giggled as she was set in her fathers lap. "No getting away."

Plucking up a rather bright green pebble he held it out to his daughter. "Look...there are pretty rocks over there...wonder if there is anything else."

He had found an egg along with that perfect flower and was now grinning from ear to ear. He wove the last flower into place. "Finished!" Then, before returning to his husband and child, he gave one last look in that particular flower patch.

"Oh its perfect." He got up, keeping an eye on Zoe, and streched. "Now...." Looking up into the tree that was above his head he spotted a leaf that still clung to the idea that it should be partially red.

Reaching up he went to pull it down and shook the branch in the process. Who knew, maybe something else would come down too.

It was then that something hit him... Hit him very hard in a way that it shouldn't have. For as much as he hated the camera and the fact that Cian was pulling it out and every moment that he could to snap pictures of Zoe, they had forgotten it at home! Imagine that! How could they have done something so foolish?!

He quickly ran over to Cian, dropping the daisy chain on his head rather than Zoe's. "Goingtogetthecamera. Bebacksoon." With that, he was gone... But not before making one last check in the patch of flowers where he'd found the last egg. Third time's a charm, right?

"Crap! I did forget the camera" He smacked his head and watched Chesh race off. "Well...looks like we are on our own." He scooped up Zoe, plopping the daisy crown on her head, and his hat as he stood up.

"So...where should we explore now my little princess." Zoe cooed as Chesh ran off and at her fathers words turned her little head and reached out for a stand of trees a ways off. "Over there huh?"

Hefting her better in his arms he headed over. As he ducked though other trees and around rather high bushes he kept an eye out for more eggs.

From the mind of a Mad Man - April 25th 2k6
Ya know. I never though easter would be that intresting but getting to hunt for eggs with Chesh and Zoe was wonderful. Not to mention she found some really neat things.

My little girl is getting fishies! Yes, that is very wrong, cats with fish for pets, but still. Fishies! I hope Loc dosent decide he wants to taste them. I would hate to have to kick the poor little thing for trying to eat my babyes pets.

Had to introdouce the family to James. It didnt go over well. Chesh wants to eat him and Zoe actually hit the little fairy. I locked him in a cabnite when he started to make Zoe cry and told him he was staying in there until he started to behave. Technally he has yet to behave but since Chesh started to keep that little birdcage around he has kept his rants to a much lower volume. Its not that much of an improvement but it is one.

I really hope that the bloom will grow and knock some sence into James. For all our sake.

And on a side note. I discovered that what mom said about your love life dieint after you have kids. Yes. Its dead....well mostly dead. Cant be completely dead other wise Chesh wouldn't be over there asleep in a....never mind. He'll kill me if he sees me write that.

__// Troubled Waters

He had left the loft... He wasn't sure for how long. He hadn't even realized that he'd gone until the bright light of the lamp outside hit his face. Then it hit him as hard as a train coming through a tunnel. He'd left the loft... And he didn't really know when he was coming back, if he was planning on returning at all. Zoe would be alright. He'd left her with Blithe and Ci-- He was there. As long as she had someone to watch out for her she'd be just fine... And he could go find himself.

He wandered through the woods, bare toes curling against the cold spring grass. Branches lashed against his bare arms; he hadn't even thought to put a shirt on before leaving the house and, amazingly, no one on the streets of Durem had stopped him. Imagine that.

When he had first started out he hadn't known where he was going, only that he would get there eventually... Or that he would know once he was close enough. He knew the moment he stepped through the stone archway with the lamp post on the other side; was certain the moment he knocked on the door and a certain bright eyed beauty opened it. Aparantly he had called ahead of time. He couldn't remember calling...

Paun ushered him carefully up the stairs, walking alongside him least he fall. In the peacock's room tea had been poured but it went ignored, even if his throat seemed so dry... As dry as his eyes felt even though a slow stream of tears had been falling from them ever since he stepped out onto the street. Maybe that's why no one had approached him as he walked.

He sat down on the edge of the bird's bed, waiting until Paun took a seat beside him. He didn't speak. He didn't move... But he cried. The very moment the bird's arm draped over his shoulder he cried, letting the worst of the tears that he'd been holding back fall free.

He felt inadequate. Insignificant. Unwanted. Unneeded. He felt like he was falling apart from the inside out... And maybe he was.

After the tears ceased he reached for the tea, taking a sip in order to restore moisture to his throat. He breathed, but each breath left him feeling empty. The emptiness began to grow the longer he sat there so he eased back against Paun and began to talk.

Things hadn't been the same since Zoe was born. He knew that would happen, just as all couples who decided to reproduce knew it would happen... But he hadn't known that when it did happen it would leave him feeling like this; so void of everything. He felt like a part of him was missing... And maybe it was.

He hadn't been the same. Cian hadn't been the same. The house hadn't been the same. Everything was changing. Or was it that, while everything changed, maybe he had stayed the same. Maybe he couldn't keep up anymore. His whole family deserved better than what he could offer them... Because, truthfully? He couldn't offer them a damned thing.

When he said that Paun gave him a little shake and made him stop, tilting his head up to look him full on the face. What the bird saw there was a fallen feline; a man who seemed to want nothing more than a dark place to hide from the world until it saw fit to pass him by. Paun leaned in at that moment, brushing his lips against the feline's briefly, more as an act of brotherhood than anything sexual, and bid him to speak on.

Taking a deep breath, he did speak on. As he spoke fingers began to fiddle with the ring that he had worn since it had been placed on his finger by the man who held so tightly onto his heart. He had been tempted only once to remove it; durring his pregnancy when his fingers had swollen, leaving the band to dig into his flesh. He hadn't removed it... But now? Now as he sat there on the bed, pouring his proverbial heart out, he began to ease it off of his finger.

The bird watched as the feline held the ring up, speaking of the proposal... The wedding... The night after. There were so many fond memories and it felt as if each one were a knife, twisting deeper and deeper into his heart as they were recalled.

He was falling apart. His wonderland was calling. The ring was holding him here... But, more than anything, he needed to escape.

He placed the ring in the outstretched palm of the peacock before falling back against the bed. He curled up around one of the pillows, tail curling around him. It was a 'typical feline' position and, in that pose, one could see how this man may have once been no more than a cat. There he slept... To remember. To dream. To forget.
