Well, perhaps it made sense if they were the only ones with a pride rock. She liked the sound of that actually. The hyenas didn't have one at least, they just had yucky skulls and bones in that graveyard. Dayo nodded thoughtfully but then stopped nodding.
"What's an oasis?"
She had managed to take her eyes off the pretty tail tuft and was now eyeing Imara's belly. Wasn't it very round and sort of fluffier than usual? Dayo considered poking it, but figured it might not be appreciated.

This kid just kept asking question after question, didn't she? It was alright, Imara supposed. But at some point she'd probably be out of answers. "Its like a lake...watering hole... forest jungle thingy. In the desert." She shrugged. She had heard of oases, and had them described to her once or twice. It seemed like a very straightforward concept! But she wasn't a very adventurous lioness, especially not nowadays, so Imara had little desire to go see one for herself.
"Maybe you can go to one some day and tell me what it's like." Dayo, on the other paw, might be more eager to venture out when she was a bit older. Or right now, but right now she shouldn't.

The cub tilted her head as she tried to imagine the desert and an oasis in it. Sand and jungley things and great big lions like fire. There must be much to see out there. It couldn't be as good as Pridelands, of course, but still... Different.
"I can do that!" Dayo said with a proud grin, and for a little while she seemed to be out of questions. She still eyed Imara's tummy, but managed to refrain from poking it.
"You look different," she said, and looked at Imara's face instead, to take her mind of poking things.

She hadn't asked a question! What a shock. She was surprisingly a little disappointed, because she found she had liked feeling somehow useful.
Imara noticed Dayo was looking at her stomach only moments before the cub mentioned she looked different. Even she could figure out why. "Oh, yeah." She nodded slightly, but didn't immediately seem to pleased. Frankly, pregnancy was a little troubling to her! It felt really weird, y'know, on the inside. And then when it was all done she was supposed to raise cubs. "I'm gonna have cubs, so that's probably why."

"Oh," Dayo tilted her head to get a better look, "Why does that make you look different?"
She liked Imara, especially since she didn't chase her away when she asked too many questions. And if Imara had cubs it would be sort of like little brothers and sisters, because she was older and all. She very much approved.
"Is their daddy a scout?"
It was a fair question. Her daddy was a scout, so she had kind of assumed that all daddies were. It was only recently that she had learned that some cubs had hunters for fathers. Weird but true!

Oh! that was a weird question. "Because it make me fat." Certainly not the best explanation, but whatever. She indicated her belly lamely, though Dayo had clearly already seen that. "And hungry." she added, as an afterthought. She did certainly have a bigger appetite nowadays, but Imara was always willing to eat. Outlanders took what they could get!
"I... uh." Was Hadaya a scout or a hunter? Good question, she had never bothered asking. She suddenly felt guilty about not knowing that. "He's a hunter." She guessed.

Dayo nodded, fair enough! The cubs would probably turn out all right despite the lack of a scout-daddy. She could help teach them important things. And Imara was ok in her book so it'd be fine.
"My daddy is a scout," she informed, "He's called Rei and he used to live outside the pridelands but his parents or grandparents or something lived here. And now he's back!"
She had probably babbeled about her family before, since Dayo was still proud over her parents. There might come a time when they started to embarrass her, but for now they were the best.
"I can help watch them when they come," Dayo offered, bouncing with excitement. "Do you think there will be many? We're six siblings, and then nine more older ones."

"Hadaya lived outside too." She said, only because she wanted to contribute somehow to this conversation. But even though Imara was more comfortable with her situation in life now, she wasn't exactly the sort to announce it as happily as Dayo. Oh well! "I'd like that." She sad, in relation to Dayo helping. "Thanks."
Oh, gosh. How many cubs? "I don't know." She hoped not many. Her mother's first litter had been nine cubs? that sounded unbearable, and so difficult! Oh, if only Imara knew... "Maybe... four?" Hopefully.

Dayo made a happy little pirouette. She could help! Wow. Wait until she told her siblings about this. They better be jealous. If she learned how to take care of cubs she'd know something Sar didn't, and it was great fun to know something he didn't. He always acted as if he knew it all, and it could get annoying at times.
"Is Hadaya the daddy," Dayo asked, "The hunter-daddy?"
She talked a lot, but she also listened. Well, most of the time. Maybe not when adults were nagging and making it hard to listen.
"I can go check if the hunters have brought in something tasty today," she offered, "Since you get more hungry and all."

She nodded. "Yeah, he is." She suddenly felt a little bashful when thinking about Hadaya, because she didn't really feel this sort of stuff for anyone really. Imara wouldn't be able to describe their relationship well at all, but she supposed they were sort of... well, they were... um. Something. Together. She knew she didn't want to not be together with him, in a general sense.
Then Dayo made a rather intriguing offer! Now, Imara was not used to favors, especially not coming from kids. She felt awkward accepting, but... she was pretty hungry. "That's nice, I'd like that– uh." But it might look weird! "I'll go with you." If she went with, maybe she'd feel less awkward. Or more. Well, whatever, now she had already said she'd go. With a shrug, she pulled herself up onto her paws, and waited for Dayo to lead the way. Because frankly, Imara didn't know where to go anyways.

Even better! Walking to get some food with someone that wasn't a parent or older sibling made her feel really grown up. It also felt less like baby sitting since she was the one making the suggestion. Yeah, imara wasn't a nanny so it was like a real grown up outing.
"Ok, let's go," she said and bounced on ahead, "I hope there's zebra today!"
