HERE IS MY ENTRY!

Sentence: "Well, hello, solution. Find a female with an ability that sets her apart." (The Darkest Lie by Gena Showalter.)
Item: My drawing tablet!
Give me a song to listen to as I read: Going the distance - Cake. OR Going the distance - Rocky. Better yet mix the two.
Your Story: It was high noon on a normal Sunday morning. For Tablet however as the seconds passed his cords seemed to twist and stretch closer to their breaking point. Soon, all too soon his owner would be bringing him to her local amateur art class, it will be there he will have to do his best against all other tablets. But ohhh! How could he even show his touch pad in front of the other tablets like this? Why he adored his owner and gladly would play the role of helper in her private test drawings he could honestly say he was ashamed by her art in public. It was just so weird and abstract! All others around the group had owners that would try to draw normal things like animals, people, scenery, even strange humans with hair that broke gravity and eyes that took up half their faces. Surely he would be laughed out of the group and shamed when the time came for him to show the art his owner made on him.
His cords fell limp when the familiar voices of his owner and her best friend rang out from past the near door as she worked to unlock it. It was an unspoken rule around household objects everywhere around the globe to never allow your human to know you had a mind of your own. To break his rule would spell a horrible ending for both sides. Before long the two young human females bumbled in, one carrying a cloth case, the other one already had her traditional drawing pad out. Inside a spark of relief ran through him. Perhaps his human wouldn't be taking him? Perhaps she was just going to use the number of pens, pencils, and drawing pad for her class this week?
"Alright! Time to go, I just need to grab my tablet." His human's voice rang out like a death call as her fleshy fingers tugged his cords out of the CPU he was always plugged into. His pen and everything was stuffed in his cloth carrying case in a rough, hurried frenzy out the door. Now there was no chance he could escape this! He was going to be used no matter what. Ugh, how silly could he have been to think that on this day she would use her pens and drawing pad instead of him? It was inconceivable!
By the time that the whole group arrived to the amateur art class at the local library Tablet had simply accepted that this was the end. He had already started to plan out the ways he could work and live in exiled shame from other drawing Tablet society. Perhaps he could never come out of his carrying case again in public? Or he could find a way to spill paint of some sort on himself to change his dull gray coloring to a bright array of colors? Then no one would notice it was him! Perfect fall back; that's what he would simply have to do.
His bright blue eye light shut off at the bright flood of warm industrial lights coming into his bag as his owner took him out. Set down on the metal table why his owner worked to figure out how to plug in his cord Tablet got the chance to open his eye and glance around the room. May as well see the people who would shame you for the rest of your self life, right? What he saw however made him want to draw a lit up light blub! All of the tablets in the room, including himself, were the same! How could he have forgotten? When his owner first signed up for this class each student was given a new tablet to start themselves off with the fee that they used to pay to get into the class in the first place. Hello solution to his problem; Switch himself out with a other student with abilities that he could be proud of. It could be done. Every human in the class left for a quick lunch before the class started. Then next week when all of this stupid "Show off your owner's work" contest between the tablets was over he could switch himself back and go home shame free!
Tablet's plan when off with a great success! Why every human was off to stuff their face ports with food he dragged himself along the desks swiftly with his cord towards the one other tablet he knew wouldn't mind switching. Wouldn't mind was an understatement of some regard as the one he was going to trick into acting as a decoy was slow. Something about this tablet just wasn't wired right, and so, he was naive and willing to go along with just about anything. It was easy to fill in a little white lie in the gaps of his story on how he just felt sooo horrible that his human had to deal with his dulling, scratched up surface pad on such an important day! The naive little tablet quickly shot up his cord, offering to take Tablet's place in a heart beat. Hook, line, annnnd sinker.
Unfortunately for Tablet what he didn't realize is this week was abstract art week. The one who he switched with got praised and ended up WINNING the contest because of his owner's work! He wasn't shamed by the other tablets like he thought he would, in fact, they seemed to care less that his new "Owner" simply couldn't figure out how to do abstract. Tablet realized that day that he didn't need to stress and worry what the other tablet's thought of his Owner's work. He had a female with an ability that sets her apart all along.
Why do you believe you are deserving!? TELL ME!: Because I'm your hate date! Duh! Who else will gift you flaming flowers with little poo flowers mixed in? Well I'm not very good at tooting my own horn but I'll try it anyways. Because I'm active in Soquili. Even if I don't go in the thread much these days, nor do I do many guild roleplays Sage and ac. Wings can tell you outright that I roleplay my ponies everyday over AIM. I try my best to keep up with events and I suppose stay in the loop of things. I enjoy Soquili and frankly it's the only B/C shop I can get into without getting bored and poofing off into the sunset.
Soquili is the only thing anymore I spend gold on, and well, it is taking it's toll. I don't have really any artist skill to get gold with, I'm not good at buying low and selling high, and I can't donate that much to Gaia. My quest ideas are mainly backed by the number of high cost items I've horded over the years. Sadly with paying for three customs now these items are becoming more and more scarce and soon my only way of getting enough gold will be through on and off donating and lots of saving! If I win this contest will go forth to a quest I may not be able to get without help and will be my first ever angeni that I've owned.
But enough of that, you know you'll give it to me so I can bug and torture you more! Because I'm awesome like that. <3
