Haydon put the papers down, not waiting for a thank you, she turned and headed back out as Miss Lea gave her a wary look. Everyone knows that Haydon is really a good person, they just don't know why she was so aggressive. After Ariyo stopped talking, Haydon shook her head once again. "You have no need to worry, it wasn't one of you'er 'friends'." she informed with an eye roll. "And I doubt any of them consider me a woman." Haydon added. "More like an animal." she said almost in a whisper. Haydon ignored Ariyo's little quote about being a lover not a fighter as they got to the class room door. "You really shouldn't make it a a habit to talk to me." she warned before putting a hand on the door handle. "If you know whats good for you you'll stay away."

Haydon had half a mind to back hand the boy as soon as he touched her but something stopped her, the charm around her neck seemed to throb with a sudden warmth. Haydon froze, eyes locked with Ariyos, for the first time she felt a wave of vulnerability come over her. That vulnerability turned into fear, Haydon didn't know what she was feeling and so she feared it. Before she could say anything more Ariyo opened the door.

Adam watched as the door opened and his eyes suddenly narrowed at the look on Haydons face, she almost looked scared. His eyes quickly went to the new kid that was with her, Ariyo... Adam didn't like him, he didn't like him at all. What could have caused the great Haydon to show any sign of fear? Adam wondered if he could learn anything from this new kid and watched him as he sat down next to Adam. Haydon followed slowly after and cautiously sat at her seat in front of Ariyo. Adam noticed how tense she looked.

As Haydon sat there she wrapped a hand around her charm with curiosity, she began to examine it with her fingers and pretended to pay attention to the lesson. The jewel almost felt alive under her fingers before she let go of it and looked down at her desk. What was happening? Haydon had no intention of going to her next class, she needed to get away from the school for the day...

Adam didn't acknowledge Ariyo's nod he simply looked away. Neither of them, Haydon nor Ariyo knew the truth and Adam intended to keep it that way for now.

Haydon almost felt eyes on her the remainder of the class period. when the bell rang she stood but paused as Ariyo said his goodbye, as if he knew she planned to skip the rest of the school day, a strong feeling of curiosity built up in her and before she could subside it, or stop herself, she found her self speaking. "Why do you do that?" she asked. "Call me 'Miss'? No one is ever that formal anymore." she said, for a moment she forgot that she distrusted Ariyo. Haydons hand suddenly twitched at her side as she remembered just before class how Ariyo touched her hand, she then avoided eye contact with the boy. Haydon couldn't look him in the eye, it made her feel exposed. Vulnerable. She didn't like it. Suddenly her defenses were back up again and her eyes narrowed. "What is the nature of your need or 'want' to know me?" she asked cautiously, no one around to over hear their conversation anymore, all the other students had left the room. Haydon suddenly didn't know if she wanted to know the answer to that question and almost turned to leave but instead she stood her ground.

Adam noticed Haydon messing with her charm the rest to the class period, then the bell rang and he made his way out with the rest of the kids but lingered outside the room for a moment. Not close enough to hear Haydon and the new kid though. Adam figured he would wait for this Ariyo kid, he needed to talk to him. He already knew Haydon wouldn't be staying at school.

Ariyo's words hung in Haydon's head as he walked off, this utterly confused her. Her confusion turned to slight irritation as she let out a frustrated grunt before she walked to the window, they were on the ground floor so she flung the window open and slipped right out. As she stormed away from the school she noticed the charm around her neck was pulsating with warmth but when she got far enough away it subsided. Strange. Haydon then broke into a full on sprint, all the towns people knew her and she knew if they saw her they would tell Bryan. She headed for the place where she felt safe and hidden from everyone, the forest. Just on the other side was never ending beach. As Haydon walked through the tall tropical forest she admired the plants and avoided tripping over roots. When she got to the beach Haydon walked out to the water but didn't walk into it, she didn't feel like getting wet today. She kept repeating what Ariyo said in her head, over and over again. After a while she began to get a head ache, these things were so foreign to her. Haydon knelt down and put her hands through her hair. "Whats going on?" she asked herself knowing no one would answer, but suddenly her charm gave one small beat of warmth. Haydon then took the charm off and began to examine it, not unlike she has done a million times before, she knew every curve and angle of the charm like the back of her hand. Yet she still examined it with curiosity. It seemed different some how.

Adam gave a smirk. "Haydon huh?" he said straight to the point, Adam wouldn't beat around the bush. Not with this. "There is more to her that meets the eye, but I'm sure you already know that Ariyo." his smirk was gone now as his green eyes went to the chain around Ariyo's neck and the charm hidden beneath his shirt, then he looked back at the boy. Adam almost hated the charm. "Your playing a dangerous game." he warned. "She doesn't know how to love." he said almost sympathetically. "She never learned how." by this time, Ariyo would have figured out that Adam knows more about the situation than he knew. At this distance, he would know that Adams not human ether.

Haydon walked down the beach, the wind blowing through her hair, somewhere she had taken off her shoes and was walking in the shallow water hoping to calm her mind and relax. She knew she would hear form Bryan when she got home but that didn't matter to her anymore, she felt something bigger was going on. Haydon lifted her charm once again to examine it, she couldn't understand or even explain why it had reacted the way it did when Ariyo touched her hand. The wheels in her mind began to turn, you could almost hear them clicking as her thoughts dragged on. Soon her head began to hurt and she gave her mind a break for a while. Haydon knew school would be over soon so she began to walk back to the woods.

Adam nodded when Ariyo pointed out that Haydon was his other half. "I know that, your charm is the same as hers." he agreed. "In truth I've been waiting for this day. Haydon has seemed broken sense she was born-" Adams words cut off for a moment before his green eyes went dim. "Well....Brought into this world I should say." He looked back to the classroom too, knowing that their friend had left. Suddenly Adams head snapped around at Ariyo's words. His green eyes slightly wide. Eyes that might have seemed familiar. Adam's face frowned. "Not in the way you might think." he said simply, there was a moment of disgust in his expression, but then it was gone. "It may not be safe for her here much longer." he warned before a teacher came into the hall. "You two get to class!"

Haydon froze at the sight of Ariyo with a bewildered look on her face. After a moment she raised an eye brow. "One of the few places I enjoy." she answered, Haydon was beginning to give up on trying to avoid Ariyo, it seemed impossible to do. "And you? Had enough of school, decided to take a walk?" she questioned almost suspiciously with a hint of sarcasm. "That could be dangerous. Being the new kid in town, you could get lost. We wouldn't want that now would we?" she added then looked at him for a long moment. "I'm not blind, I saw Adam waiting for you after class." Haydon said trying not to snap at him. "He one of your friends too?" she shook her head with a disappointed chuckle. "Am I right not to trust you?" she let that sink in before turning to walk once again then nodding for him to come along, didn't want the new kid to get lost.

Adam watched as Ariyo walked off. "Its my job." he whispered before going on with the rest of his day. As school ended he walked down town and visited Andrews house. He found him sitting on the steps. "I told you to leave her alone." Adam warned as he walked up to a bruised Andrew. "We all know she doesn't belong here Adam, no ones going to accept her around here. Ever sense last year you've become so damn protective of her!" Andrew paused for a moment then gave a smirk. "What? You suddenly like her now?" Adam grabbed the other boy by the collar. "Sorry, but you wont be in school for a while my friend." Andrew looked at him with a confused face. "I'm fine-" he began to protest then suddenly Adams words sunk in. "Yup." Adam nodded before he dragged the boy around the house and out of sight.

Haydon made a face before she turned to face Ariyo again. "I'm just trying to figure out if this "getting to know me" bit is some sort of game." she said honestly. "I don't trust Adam, and-" her words faltered for a moment as if she was still unsure. "I don't trust you." she finished then quickly tucked her charm under her shirt, it had started to act up once again and she had become protective of it for some reason. "The distaste between me and Adam is between me and Adam, thats all you need to know." Haydon added before turning to walk again. "Why are you out here anyway?" she asked, trying to change the subject, the faster she got out of here the sooner she would be rid of Ariyo. Though, Haydon didn't know what she wanted at the moment. She felt more relaxed and at peace right now than she had ever been before. Just another thing that confused her. Haydon then turned back to Ariyo, her green eyes examined him as if she was trying to see through a dense fog, like she was trying to find something.

After taking care of Andrew, Adam made his way back to his house. His house, not his home, because 'home' would suggest something more than just a place you live at for the time being. As he opened the door he heard, Meg, his foster mother greet him warmly as she always did. Adam greeted her back with a smile before helping her with some house chores. Meg, like him, was not human. No, she was a Fairy. As clever and mischievous as they come. She had lived here for years. "Beating them up wont solve anything." Meg said disapprovingly in her bell-like voice. "It'll keep them away for a while." Meg sighed. "How bad was it today?" "She just had a few cuts and bruises. You can go take a look at her later, but their already healing.. I don't think she realizes it though." Adam explained. Meg was the town doctor, she made sure everyone was in good health and being the magical creature she was didn't hurt either. "She's getting stronger then." Meg nodded as she folded some clothes. Adam made a frustrated noise and threw a sock. "Why can't we just tell her?!" "You know what she's like Adam, she cannot control her temper. If she is told now she will go into a furious rage!" Meg snapped back at him. Adam looked away. "Her other half could calm her down." he said under his breath. With another sigh Meg looked at him. "You put to much faith in that boy." she put the clean clothes away. "He is only one person." she added then headed into the kitchen. "You of all people should know that if she finds out on her own and figures out that we knew the whole time her temper will be ten times worse." Adam explained as he followed Meg into the kitchen. Meg leaned against the sink and looked out the window with a sorrowful expression. "She is to much like her mother." to this comment, Adam left the room and slammed his bedroom door closed. Meg closed her eyes realizing what she had just said, she knew Adam was sensitive to the subject. She now regretted her words.
