Sasha gave a small smile in Jude's direction when he offhandedly complimented her singing ability, though she showed more interest in showing him her painting skill. She'd always loved painting more than singing, but papa had always pressured her to keep her voice exercised.

Then again, she loved playing the flute more than she did painting, and it was a pity that she had left her flute --

<Sasha, you're rambling again.>

"I hope that I might be able to find a flute. The one my father bought for me when I was younger was.. expensive, to say the least." Sasha chuckled softly, waving a delicate hand.

Sasha had a sudden question slip into her mind as they walked, one that she wanted to ask more out of curiosity than anything else.

"Jude, I ah.. I was wondering. What does... what kind of weapon do you have?"

"I bet it was real nice but I am sure you'll find an adequate replacement in time," he said in a thoughtful tone.

Her question made him pause a little only because it wasn't a question he often got but also because his weapon had changed a bit since he had first gotten it though he wasn't sure how or why to this, "Mmm, a set of punching daggers," that seemed to be the best and quickest answer he could offer Sasha.

"What about yours?" He might as well ping the question right back at her.

"Ahhh... meathooks."

Sasha clasped her hands in front of her as they kept moving. Punching daggers sounded really awesome right about now. Meathooks didn't seem like much of a weapon.

Nona started screeching.

"Nona's really pretty, though," she said a little loudly, almost placatingly. "Really, really pretty."

The screeching dimmed to a dull roar.

"Meathooks? Hm, haven't seen that yet, I am sure they are very nice looking." He observed quietly as he opened the door to the cafeteria, "Ladies first," he said quietly with a small smile. He was slowly starting to relax around Sasha, at least enough to smile at her without feeling awkward or weird about it.

He was being himself more or less.

Once managing to usher in the 'newbie' into the cafeteria he wandered in and glanced around thoughtfully, "Maybe I'll get something to eat as well."

"They are," Sasha assured Jude, though for a moment she looked a little concerned. "Or should I say she is? It feels weird talking about Nona as if she's just a pair of hooks."

<Such a precious ghoul.>

Sasha would have felt a little awkward about the entire conversation if she hadn't been talking to another hunter. It was something of a relief to know that everyone here dealt with the same thing.

"What do they serve here?" Come to think of it, she was feeling a little peckish.

Jude tilted his head a little before he responded, "Well...I guess it depends on how you look at it. Yom is ...an entity that talks to me within my mind but she is a pair of punching daggers - or rather that is what her spirit inhabits...? The daggers themselves are an item while she herself is just using them as a vessel." He quieted and shrugged suddenly feeling foolish for his observation.

Oh good a subject change dealing in food.

"Just about anything you could want, really. I tend to favor the pastries myself, but I also enjoy a couple of the meals they offer. Do you have a particular favorite?" He asked with a bit of a smile. He didn't question the how or why of the food he just ate it.

<He is a nice boil. So very polite. He is not so big as Nona likes her boils, but he is very sweet.>

Nona, shh, for just a moment.

<Perhaps after this meeting Sasha can take Nona about? Surely there must be a place where they keep the large men... it has been so long since Nona has seen fine broad shoulders and muscular thighs and -->

Sasha made a strangled noise before turning to peer at Jude, her cheeks flushed and eyes bright.

"Sausages," Sasha said an instant before she looked utterly horrified that she'd muttered the word, considering the mental dialogue that had just occurred moments before. "And cheese. Crackers, apples, grapes. Chicken. Fruits and vegetables. Food."

<Oh, Sasha.>

If he had been any other sort of young man he might have commented on her blushing or the fact that she blurted out the word 'sausages' but he said and did nothing other than wait for her to finish and nodded a bit with a small smile, "That's good. You eat real healthy, huh?" He asked in a quiet conversational tone.

He moved to show her where they kept various types of food for others to eat, "It might not always be the best quality but it certainly fills you up when you're hungry."

Certainly there were worse things such as food poisoning.

"Yes, I always have. My papa and I, we lived on a farm. A little one." Sasha smiled softly and shrugged her shoulders as they made their way into the cafeteria. "Most everything we ate came from what papa grew, or what livestock he kept... or what could be traded or bartered with."

As she tapped a finger against the selection of ..fresher foods.. before snagging an apple that she placed in her pocket, Sasha crossed her arms over her chest as she watched Jude carefully.

"Where did you come from? I mean.. you know. Before here?" Straight and to the point, Sasha was, but she was a curious little thing.

"Ahh, that's pretty neat," To be quite honest Jude only had a passing knowledge of farms but had never been on one for longer than perhaps it took to be on a fieldtrip from school or some weird weekend thing his mother dragged him on. Most of Jude's knowledge on farms stemmed from cartoons, tv shows, and a couple of movies he'd seen.

Jude took a look at the food and decided he wanted an apple as well and snagged one but held onto it rolling it between his hands as if to warm it up or to give his hands something to do while pondering if he wanted to answer Sasha's question before he answered, "New York. But not exactly in the City. We lived a little bit away from it."
