"Do I have to change my name, too? And I can walk that far, I just meant that I couldn't walk anymore after that." On the off-chance that Galning had been serious about not taking him back to the pride. "I don't want to change my name. I like my name. Mama gave it to me." He sent a sideways glace in Galning's direction, choking back a snort. He wouldn't try to irritate his brother again - right now, anyway.
"I care about family too," Tim muttered, narrowing his eyes. Sure, they didn't get along all the time and there had been some teasing in their younger days, but that didn't mean that Tim didn't care about his brother.
"Came looking for you, didn't I?"

"Yeah, well. That's good. Because I'm not carrying your wussy a**."
With his back to his brother because he was leading him back to the pride, Galning rolled his eyes and kept them closed for a moment, as if he hoped to hold back everything that his brother was just by putting his eyelids between his eyes and the world.
It didn't work, and in fact he ended up stumbling over a root unseen during that moment when his eyes were closed. He tried to recover with dignity. His tail twitched in a dare to his brother to say anything, the implication being that if Tim was dumb enough to say something, or even snicker, he would lead him somewhere that wasn't the pride.
"No one's going to make you change your name. I chose to. I'm sure you know why."
Galning cared about his family, but he hated the name they had given him. It had made his youth a misery, and he was more than happy to leave it behind when he became one of the Stormborn. It wasn't as though he'd left his family behind. He had two of his cousins here, and now one of his brothers had shown up, too.
Nope. No chance he was going to be allowed to leave his family behind.
"Right. Whatever. Come on, ratface." Maybe he'd tell everyone Timorien meant "ratface" in their language. The thought made him grin.
