Chris settled down on his bed as Paris got changed, grabbing the bottle of sparkling juice by the neck and taking a gulp. No point in being all formal now. Here they could at least be themselves. Or at least that was the intention.
He shifted slightly as Paris joined him and leaned again him, moving his arm so he could place it around his boyfriend instead. "Don't be sorry, baby," he insisted, saying the pet name in a softer, more endearing way than it would have sounded had he been teasing him. He wasn't about to pull out the teasing, especially not when it was obvious that Paris was feeling rather crappy. "We'll try this again another day... not on a holiday, okay?" he wondered, turning his head enough to press a quick kiss against Paris's forehead.
It wasn't as if it was a bad attempt. It was just... bad timing. Everything else about it was just fine. They were still new at this... the whole being in a relationship thing, at least. It had been a couple years for Chris, and Paris had never really had a committed relationship before, so of course Valentine's day was going to be awkward and cheesy and not very significant to them. Well, for Chris...
"Don't get sause on the sheets," he then teased, leaning down to try and get a real kiss before reaching for his plate to continue their meal.

Paris knew he should act natural and not make a big deal out of things, and that wasn’t too difficult to manage now that they were in a more comfortable setting, but the pet name got to him before he could try to block it out. He thought it should bother him since that was what his mother had called him his entire life, but for some reason he liked it coming from Chris. He shifted against the mattress a bit in an attempt to disguise the pleased sort of wiggle he did when he heard it, though there wasn’t anything he could do to stop himself from smiling.
He was only glad no one else was around to see him acting like a love sick puppy, because that would be really embarrassing.
He leaned up to kiss Chris back, then pushed himself up more to actually sit upright. “I’m not going to get sauce on the sheets. You’re the pig,” he said, poking Chris in this side as he reached for his plate.
Eating together in bed proved to be the better option. Paris was a little disappointed that he hadn’t been able to pull off his original plan, but he figured it didn’t matter where they ate or how they inevitably decided to spend the holiday, just as long as they were together. It could always have been worse. Either way, he thought it was one of the better Valentine’s Days he’d ever had.
And he’d make sure it was even better next year.
