Oh, good! So what Kwasi said had made sense to the other lioness, and she could feel a little smart about that. She blinked as she caught on to the summon, and Juba simply turned and hurried back over towards the tree. Oh, okay then. She almost would have hurried like the other female seemed to want them to do, but Jemadari didn't find it so urgent, so she was happy enough to keep pace with him.

"You did! But I like her." Juba had complimented her so far, Kwasi liked compliments. Besides, in the end there was probably nothing wrong with being a little strange. "As ready as I'll ever be."

The course of action Juba suggested when they arrived was, however, admittedly a little out of what Kwasi would think of as nice. She wanted her to be a... ledge? To just climb on top of her? That was weird. "Do you mean me or Jemadari?" She asked, just to be sure of who the white lioness was asking such a task. The chocolate female would do it,if only because so far she had been all nice and compliant and hardly wanted to lose favor. But at the same time, the idea of a full grown lioness just standing on her back was so....silly.

Jemadari had to admit that he was glad Kwasi liked Juba. The rogue was certainly odd but he found her strangely...endearing with all of her oddities. He was happy, then, to stand and watch for a moment, letting Kwasi take the lead in the conversation.

"Both, both!" Juba chirped, moving towards them again. She gave Jema a shove towards the tree and growled when he showed some resistance. "May be skinny but still heavy. Balance the weight between you. Less chance of causing harm. All play part. Stand here." She was back by the tree again. "Side by side. Okay, now stand still now, or we'll all fall."

Rolling his eyes, Jemadari crouched a little to make it easier for Juba to use him as a platform; his eyes twinkling with amusement. "Why do I get the feeling this is all going to go horribly wrong?"

"Nonsense, nonsense, be still!" And Juba, quite fearlessly, braced her paws against his back and vaulted herself up.

She did her best to follow the lioness instructions, and it was a good thing they were pretty simple. Stand there and don't drop Juba, seemed simple enough. She still wasn't fond of the whole being stepped on, but it wasn't... too bad, anyways. And she had been warned!

The weight didn't bother her too much, especially since it was divvied up between herself and Jemadari. "I think Jema might be right." She said uncertainly. Because the weigh wasn't a problem, but the fact that lions had some loose skin, and it's not like their backs were level surfaces... that was a problem. Whenever she felt Juba's paws begin to slide to the side she tried to counter it, but it was rather hard to control.

"Do you see anything?" She asked, hopeful this would be over soon.

"Note to self." Juba mumbled. "Lions are not good for standing on." With her front paws planted on Jemadari's back and her back paws on Kwasi, her idea of dividing the weight might have made it easier for them, but certainly not for her. She shook as she tried to balance her weight evenly, fur bristling when she felt herself slipping. Accidentally the claws on her forepaws hooked into Jemadari's fur and he gave a muffled yelp of pain.

Through gritted teeth he said: "Do hurry up."

Juba chose to ignore him, answering Kwasi instead. "No. No. Nothing at all. Absolutely nothing! No nest. No egg. No helpless babies." She tried to lean against the tree to make the job easier. "Such a conundrum! Do not understand. Even prey animals have reasons, even if brains are small!" She huffed, her tail swatting back and forth as she scanned the branches yet again for any sign.

"Perhaps they were just trying to wind you up?" Jemadari offered as an explanation.

"Nonsense, nonsense! This is something quite--"

And then she slipped and fell with a loud thump onto the ground. Lying on her back, coughing, she opened an eye and peered up at them, looking more miffed than anything else.

Jemadari had turned to get a look at his side, grumbling at the slender score marks that had been left there from where she had slipped.

"Wait for them to come back. Ask them. Yes."

Jemadari sighed and sat. "I don't think getting wounded over that was worth it."

"Wound? Wound? Tsk. A scratch. Thought you were grown up. Not a cub. Got to get used to a bit of pain." Juba was already pulling herself back onto her paws and dusting herself off. "Must think about this. Can't think with distractions. Come back later, yes? Will have answer for you then."

Jemadari's eyes widened in disbelief.

She supposed she could at least be glad she had the hind paws! Jemadari certainly seemed to be the least fortunate of two, and she couldn't decide whether to be amused at his yelp, or feel bad for him. Perhaps because the situation was so silly, Kwasi was more amused. She tunred her head to grin dumbly at him, before tilting it slightly to look up towards Juba. "That is pretty strange!"

The idea of the birds just trying to bother Juba might be silly, but she knew plenty of creatures who liked to heckle others, so she figured it wasn't entirely unlikely.

Then Juba slipped, and Kwasi couldn't help but gasp as suddenly a weight was lifted from her, and deposited on the floor. "Are you alright?" She peered over at the other lioness, then winced slightly at the scratches on Jemadari's back. Not exactly painful looking, but definitely the sort of scratches that... bothered. Yep, Kwasi had definitely gotten the better end of the deal, at least she didn't think she was injured!

She sat down beside him and listened to Juba, then made a face. After all that she was sending them off! Perhaps if she were in different company, or Juba was a male named Chokuto, the lioness would be a little more offended. But as it was, she just tilted her head. "Er... okay, then. I guess she needs to think." She turned to Jemadari and shrugged, then offered him a slight smile. What a strange day she was having!

"I'm fine, I'm fine. I've had much worse than this. Many fights in my time out there. Others look at me and think I'm defenceless. They often more wounded than I am but wounds all the same." She almost seemed like she enjoyed the fights, but she was right. She did look a little too thin to be much of a threat.

Jemadari grimaced. "You want us to go? But we didn't even get a chance to talk about anything?"

"Later, later. I shall be around for a couple of days before I head back out. Sure you are not too busy to come looking before then."

"Well, no, but--"

"Then there is no problem. Come back. Call with your loud voice and I will hear. Everyone will hear you." She dipped an ear and sniffed lightly.

Obediently, the golden-pelted lion gave a sigh and got back up onto his paws. The wounds were certainly not bad, but they were the type that had only just broken the skin. The type that would itch. Already he had to resist the temptation and he brushed against Kwasi as he passed, pausing to throw Juba another look. "Have fun then, I guess."

And almost as an after thought, the white and red female turned to look at them again. "Nice to meet you Kwasi'roho. Come again sometime, yes? May need your help with more research in the future."

She couldn't help but be surprised at that little tidbit of information. She hardly ever would have pegged the lioness as a fighter, what with her thin frame, she didn't look like much of a challenge. Even that runt, Wingu, might look more intimidating than Juba. But the way this white lioness seemed so unpredictable... well, maybe it wasn't so hard to believe!

As Jemadari stood up, so did she, though she let him pass her first to listen to Juba once again. "It was nice to meet you too, Juba. Alright, I'd be happy to help with research! I'll come back when Jemadari comes." She said, giving the male a bump with her shoulders, just to let him know she would come with him!

Now she kind of did want to know the end of this bird-story. "Goodbye, Juba!" She said, then let Jemadari lead the way back, deeper into the pridelands.
