Yareha felt so...so old as he watched her back away. He wanted to show her that he had never once lied to her. Yes, he'd slept with Ieiunium, but he hadn't even known Laelia then! And he wasn't asking any questions about her previous partners. He wanted to win her back, but he wasn't sure how. The only certainty was that now wasn't the time.
He sighed in response. "I'll raise them if you ask me, but I hope you won't leave them motherless. Regardless of how you think of me, they haven't done anything to deserve that."
He could make a comment about raising them fatherless, but even if she chose not to involve him with the cubs, there were plenty of substitutes in the pride. And his own sister was doing quite well on her own.
At this point, there was nothing more he could do except watch her leave and hope that things would improve between them.

Knowing he was watching her as she made to run off again was the only thing that kept her from jumping right to it. She'd already run, he'd tried to follow but he gave up.. and this was how she gave up, but it wasn't really his fault this time, was it? She didn't know what she thought anymore, her hatred for her own mistakes clouded her opinion of Yareha and what he had done. She couldn't think straight staring at him like this.
So she kept backing up, slowly but surely, until he spoke and she hesitated. She knew why he said it but it didn't stop a rush of anger overcoming her. Overwhelmed, she had no other option but to finally turn around and run off.

Yareha watched her go with a mass of emotions knotting up his heart. As she left his line of sight, he shook his head at himself and turned to go home. Back to his den, and to the kids he already had.
At the very least, their antics would distract him from having to think about this encounter. The only thing he was sure of at this point was that it wasn't over yet. Not until the cubs arrived, at the very least.
