Candace's eyes were closed, a content smile on her face as she laid on her stomach and nuzzled her face against one of the pillows. His touches sent shivers up her spine and left a trail of goosebumps in their wake. Every now and then they'd brush against a spot that made her giggle and squirm, her fingers clenching and relaxing around the edges of the pillow. She was content to just enjoy the peace and quiet until he spoke, but even then she merely turned her head to peek up at him with one eye. Hmmm?
Candace remained quiet as he recited lines of poetry that was vaguely familiar. Had she read this somewhere? She felt like she had. It was certainly a fitting poem. The only sounds she made for now where pleased sighs and quiet purrs as his fingers continued to move along her body. Even the kisses made her heart race all over again. Kiss after kiss..oh god she didn't want to have to leave after they were finally through. Could she just stay here all day and all night? She didn't want to leave H's bed, his arms, his very thorough and almost...almost loving affections; Candace knew there was no love here but it was the only way she could think to describe a moment like this.
Oh wait! She remembered now! What a fitting author for this choice and everything! Candace grinned and chuckled. "E.E. Cummings? I approve, H." She sighed, carefully rolling onto her back and comfortably stretching out as he continued to touch and tease her. Oh, H. You were perfect for her why couldn't you have--
"Hello hello? Doc?"
Jerry!?
She was no longer relaxed. The reaction was instantaneous. She clutched the pillow and stared ahead of her with wide, frightened eyes. Oh god...oh god. What is Jerry doing here?! She thought to herself in silent panic, trying desperately to stay calm. Oh dear...Candace? Atropos sounded concerned. She was doing well in staying visibly calm but she knew better; Candace's mind was scrambling for a save, an escape, a way to not end this in ruin.
H laughed and Candace slowly sat up, grabbing the blanket and pulling it up to her chest. She rubbed her lips together, swollen and tender from constant attention since getting here, and then raised a hand to bite down on the end of her thumb. It was a nervous habit. "Oh god..ohgodwhyishehere.." She whispered quietly, swallowing hard and breathing in and out in slow, somewhat steady breaths. Keep calm, keep calm! You can save this! What would you do, Candace? Get dressed and think of a story as to why you were here that wasn't the truth? Ugh! It was hard to think with her mind so clouded with pleasure. This was impossible. She had to get herself out of this. She had to save it. She had to stop the inevitable. Candace still held the blanket up as she scoot over to sit close to H, turning to sit on her knees and give him a gentle kiss against his lips. "Can you make him leave?" She asked in a hushed voice, absolutely terrified of being heard. "I..er...no I can't shove it all on you. s**t." That would be so childish of her. She needed to fix this. Candace stole another kiss, drawing away after. There had to be a way to save this. But she couldn't waste time. This had to be quick. ********! Was she here for a nap? No, that was stupid.
...His collections! She came to give H his valentine gift and got sidetracked by his collections! Yes, that was perfect! And Jerry was gullible enough he'd probably believe it. ********, he deserved better than her. Maybe she should...just..let him see? No, she didn't want to pile that on H. That was even more childish than making him do her bidding to get her boyfriend out of the room. Ugh!
"..I've got it." Candace looked terribly regretful as she climbed out of the bed, or tried to. The moment she tried to stand up her legs felt weak and she got dizzy. Being vertical was not happening, apparently. She tried not to giggle as she rubbed her legs, her cheeks flushed. "God, you're good." She couldn't even walk.

He was laughing again, hands reaching out to her shoulder drawing her down until she was on her back. Leaning down he kissed her nose playfully, "Oh, good has nothing to do with it my dear." The play of panic and lingering pleasure had been lovely to watch, but it wouldn't do to dawdle here.
In one swift, smooth motion H was off of her and leaving the bed and then the bedroom entirely. The doctor, confident and utterly shameless had gone out to greet Jerry. He picked up a pair of pants on the way out, but didn't bother putting them on just yet. Scrambling into clothes was for lesser mortals. Fortunately Jerry had some experience with being greeted by nude men.

She squeaked as she was pulled back by a laughing H, smiling helplessly as he kissed her nose. The situation was terrible but..but she still couldn't help but get excited by his very touch. "Yeah, well--wait what are you--" He walked out. He just...walked out there where Jerry was waiting.
And he was naked.
Oh god..oh god.
Candace's heart stopped and felt like it plummeted into her stomach as she pulled the blanket around her again. Maybe..maybe he wouldn't figure it out! She didn't leave anything that would distinguish her from just some random woman, right? Candace looked down at the floor where her clothes were all waiting to be put back on. Let's see...the lingerie was there, her shirt, her panties, her bra, pants, socks..where were her shoes? s**t. Her shoes were outside. Maybe he wouldn't notice. Jerry didn't look at her shoes a lot anyway, right? Okay. She was good.
..Where was her coat? Her scarf was here. Where was her ********> Candace gasped, her hands flying to her mouth and clamping hard over it. It was still out in the main room! On that chair! Ffffffffuuuuuuuuuuuck!

Jerry's attentions were not on the fabulous knickknacks lining the shelves. They were locked on the jacket hanging from the chair. He could hear voices, distantly and muffled, but someone was in.
Maybe it wasn't... what he thought it was. Maybe it just looked just like her's. Black and gold wasn't so uncommon... he knew others who had orange on their jackets like him. But only Candace's had been tailored to stay out of the way of flying legs.
By the time H had strode out so boldly, the Jacket was already in his hands. He had a question posed, but once he glanced up and took in the full glory of the man, his mouth went dry and his face went white.
It took several moments for him to regain his motor skills before his voice spilled out, "I came to... I was.... "
It was Candace's coat in his arms, there was no question there. But why?
Roar had gone almost guiltily quiet, preparing himself for the ebbing sea of emotions he could feel dropping down for the impending tidal wave.

Upon entering, the doctor simply looked at Jerry, deemed the young man wouldn't be precisely useful or coherent for another minute or two, and began putting on his pants. When it finally seemed that the conversation was truly about to start, it came in a short burst and then fell sadly short. Typical.
He leaned against the bar, entirely comfortable and ease with the situation at hand. With a toothy smile and lifted brow, the older man prompted him, "Well? You came to what, Jerry? Is there something on your mind?" Dark blue eyes flicked significantly down to the coat in the trainee's hand and the smile widened, "Something you wish to ask?"

Something behind the man's eyes flickered through his glasses, green light suddenly flaring from the whistle hanging just under his shirt, but Roar was at least smart enough to stay unsummoned. That was the last thing his Hunter should be doing just then. Jerry's breathing quickened when that instinctive response fell short, his hands tightening their grip on the jacket, "Where's Candace."

"Where's Candace."
Candace tensed, clutching the blanket tightly and pulling it up over her head as if that alone was enough to make it all stop. Ohgodohgodohgodohgodohgodohgodohgodmakeitstopmakeitstop! She couldn't breathe, her chest felt tight, and she felt like she was going to be sick. Her body trembled with fear as she curled up on her side under the blanket. She was not leaving this bed.

The grin softened into something slightly more enigmatic, "I wasn't sure you'd really have the will to ask, Jerry. Good on you, very good." Reaching up his fingers ghosted over the immediate options before settling on a bottle of Ardberg. The doctor poured himself a glass, taking his time, "You do have that tendency to disassociate, you know. Perhaps there is a certain amount of merit in Killzone's...hmm, but that's neither here nor there is it? You asked a question, the answer to which is here, or rather..." he lifted the glass and gestured in the direction he had come from, a smiling toast to the woman in the bedroom, "...there."

His eyes clenched shut for several seconds as he tried to digest it all, his hands shaking now. This was just a... a trick. A test. Testing his gumption or nerves...
No matter how much he tried to rationalize it away, the facts lay painfully bared.
He was going to be sick.
Jerry drew in a deep breath, brows knit and eyes still closed, although the glow from Roar had died down, "Why?" His voice was quiet and level. His brain felt numb, the world surreal, but he kept a tight grip on it all the same, as real as the smooth metallic feel of the gold piping on the jacket clenched between his fingers.

The doctor's expression grew slightly incredulous, and he took a small sip of his drink before answering, "Why is quite the loaded question, Jerry. Why is she here? Because she had something for me. Why is she there?" He nodded in the direction of the bedroom, "Because I had something for her." The corner of his lip curled up and his expression resembled that of the cat who'd just eaten the proverbial canary, "Quite a few somethings, in fact."

Jerry's head rolled, his eyes opening again as he turned away from H, the jacket dropping to his feet as he walked back a few paces and around again. "Something she wanted? Or did you have a bandage for that?" His voice held an edge, but whether that was violence, hysterics, or a bit of both remained to be seen.

The man snorted softly, "Wanted is such a tame word, Jerry. Try desired. Craved. Demanded." The words rolled off his tongue, smooth and succinct. The smile he gave the trainee was distinctly unkind, "Would you like me to say it was under some sort of outside influence? That her judgement was clouded? Do you want me to tell you she had a few bad days or a few good drinks? That this was a mistake made in the heat of the moment?"
He took another sip of his drink and continued mildly, "Or would you like the truth?"

Candace could hear everything. H's unkind words, Jerry's panic. Oh god, H. Stop it. Stop saying those things to him. But she couldn't breathe. She wanted to tell H to stop it, to stop being so cruel to Jerry..but she couldn't. She couldn't breathe oh god! Candace sat up, a hand against her chest as her breath short and quick for reasons not pleasant as they had been only a short time ago. Probably not even an hour ago. She...she should call out to him. She should talk to him. She wouldn't use unkind words, she wouldn't say cruel things to him. Candace loved him...but..but oh god what had she done?!
Her hands shook as she ruffled her own hair in frustration. Go out there, Candace. Candace...you should face him. Candace whimpered. I know! I..I know! But I...I can't..! There was a sigh in her head as Atropos fell quiet. She sniffed, whimpering quietly. Stop it, H. Stop being so cruel to Jerry. Candace looked around the room again. Clothes..she needed to put on clothes and go out there. She had to face him, she just had to.

Roar flared with light again and Jerry swayed as his knees threaten to buckle, his head swimming with the unbearable strain of emotion that usually made his system shut down.
His eyes locked on the carpet as he regained his composure. No amount of screaming, of threats or demands for answers or begging to know why would change the harrowing reality of the situation.
"I... I see." He said softly, and only just realized he had hunched down to grip his hair tightly. He let go and lowered his hands.
His expression was placid, although there was a twitch in several muscles on his face. Moving stiffly, he crossed to the bar H leaned against so casually, unceremoniously grabbed a bottle at random to shove under his arm before grabbing a second to rip out the cork and swallow for several moments.
With a gasp, he seemed to have gotten the courage to meet H in the eye, although the tremble remained. "Well. I hope. You both had a good time of it," He managed, and before he could stop it, a weak, broken laugh eased itself our of his throat. "I hope you had a good time of it," He repeated as though he couldn't believe what he was saying, wobbling towards the door.
He wasn't sure what he was feeling. Shock, perhaps, numbing him to his core. His brain was awash with everything, his ears ringing, his stomach twisting, but at least it didn't take long for the wave of what he had just swallowed to help numb it further.

The bottle was taken without comment. It was fair enough, really. Though in his place, H would have taken both the bottle and the woman. The doctor finished his glass, waving Jerry off with a smile and a pleasant, "I'm glad we had this little talk, Jerry, but next time perhaps you should call ahead."
