Heh. She almost made it tempting to get into trouble just so that she had to talk that nurse out on a date. The thought briefly amused him, but it soon passed. Instead he gave a slight roll of his eyes as she offered to give him a kiss. Jealous. Puh.

"I'm good," he assured her. After all, there was only one girl he would actually want a kiss from. But that was never going to happen again. This thought didn't help his mood any and the agent just sighed.

"Oh, I see," she said softly. Some chick must've broken his heart or something. There was only one thing a sigh like that could mean. But she wasn't going to pry or anything. After all, she wouldn't want anyone asking about her ex, and she wouldn't want to inflict that sort of emotional pain on anyone.

"Now don't get all sad on me again. Look on the bright side, you're free! That should work wonders for your frame of mind, I think." She twirled her hair with a finger. "And if you play nice with the nurses, they may even let you get out of bed eventually. How long are you here for, anyway?"

He was quietly grateful as Elle didn't press for further information, unlike some other nosy person that would. Izaya left a bitter taste in his mouth and it showed by his contorted expression.

Asch then lifted his eyes at her question. "Only until they're convinced I don't have serious brain damage." It was annoying. As far as he could tell, he was functioning just fine. Nevermind the slightly slurred words he put out every now and then, his depression, light and sound sensitivity, and everything else. Plus there was that yellow band around his wrist that said "FALL RISK". No.. he was just FINE.

"I imagine that'll take quite a while," she teased, nudging his arm with her elbow. The doctors probably thought he was insane, what with that stunt in the hallway. Even if he was just doing his duty, finding someone sprawled out in the floor was enough to make anyone a little overprotective.

"Seriously though, I'm sure you'll be out of here in no time." She grinned. "And now that I know you're here, I'll stop by every so often and make sure you're not, like, depressed or anything. After all, it's not like I'm really that busy anyway, right?"

Asch did not at all look amused at Elle's attempt at a joke about his brain, and the look on his face conveyed that rather well. However, as she became "serious" and decided to visit every now and then, Asch huffed and looked away.

"Do what you want." After all, its not like he had much say in the matter. He wasn't going anywhere. At least not yet. And if she had nothing better to do, then why not? His mode didn't seem to be all that improved aside from the fact that he didn't seem to be quite as sad.

Elle grinned at him. "Don't worry, I won't try to read you stories or any of that crap." She had noticed, though, that he hadn't gotten any visitors since she'd been there. There were no cards or flowers...maybe she was the only one who visited at all. And that just wouldn't do. Hospitals were depressing by nature--that's why visitors were important! To keep the depression at bay.

And by golly she wasn't going to let Asch sit here all by himself all day every day.

"So I'll be back later, kay? You job between now and then is to come up with ways that I can hide from Karl. I'm pretty sure he wants a follow up visit, but I'm afraid I want to change physicians. I heard there was a better doctor down the street," she said, grinning wryly as she whisked out of Asch's curtained room, her orange hair flying out behind her.

His job was to what? Oh please. Asch resisted rolling his eyes and instead just stared blankly as Elle rambled on, then blinked once as she disappeared around the curtain. She was certainly a strange one, but tolerable. The red head didn't mind having her around, and it would at least be less boring to have someone visit him from time to time.

But for now, he decided that perhaps a nap was in order since he was alone again. Although, he didn't particularly look forward to dreaming again. He had promised Elle that he would stay put, and so he would.
